Jessie J Confirms Positive Update In Cancer Battle, Giving Credit To Her Son: 'Happy Tears Are Real!'
More than a month after the English singer shocked the world with her breast cancer diagnosis, she now has positive news to share with fans.
The update comes weeks after Jessie took a break from the spotlight to undergo surgery.
In an Instagram post, Jessie confirmed to her followers that her surgery yielded great results. "And…I AM OK. Results = I have NO cancer spread. Happy tears are real!" she penned.
The "Flashlight" singer became emotional as she expressed her gratitude to fans for their prayers, love, and positive energy during the tough time.
Alongside the message was a sweet clip of her son, Sky, reciting positive affirmations after his mother. "Say Mommy's gonna be okay," the singer called out to her son, who then repeated it in the cutest voice.
"This video is from the night before my surgery," Jessie explained about the video in the caption. "We called it baby boy." The doting mother then gushed about her two-year-old carrying her through her health battle, writing:
"You are my biggest ray of light, and with you in my life the darkness will never win."
Concluding her post, The Voice UK judge confirmed that the coast wasn't, however, completely clear. "Lots of healing to go and one more surgery to make these cousins look more like sisters," she wrote.
Nevertheless, the singer is basking in "gratitude time" and changing her name to "The LopJess monster."
Jessie's positive update was warmly received by her fan base, who flooded the comment section with encouraging remarks.
"Been a fan for 10 years and counting. I love you. Best News Ever!! We are waiting now for your full recovery and the new album as well. Rest well, my queen, first," one heartwarming comment read.
Another lovely remark read, "Oh, thank you so very much for sharing the wonderful news--and in the best way possible. We continue to send you so much love and healing wishes."
A third fan gushed, "The news everyone wanted to hear at the start of the week! Get in! F-ck cancer!"
Other users couldn't help but gush about Jessie's bond with Sky. "You are such a mom, which is saying something because you are [red heart emoji]," this fan added.
Since coming clean about her diagnosis, the 37-year-old has been an open book throughout her journey.
Such was the case last month when she gave fans a glimpse of how her surgery went. As The Blast reported, Jessie shared photos and clips just 48 hours after going under the knife.
Defending her choice to be transparent, the songstress revealed, "[red exclamation point emoji] Blood warning [red exclamation point emoji] This post is some of the honest lows and highs of the last 48 hours. I will always show the good and hard bits of any journey I go through."
True to her words, the carousel included emotional clips of Jessie crying before the surgery as well as the blood loss she suffered in the aftermath.
Prior to her positive update, Jessie had fans confused when her post-surgery manifestation was mistaken as the result. However, she had to clear the air because it was too soon to tell.
Following a post where she declared, "The cancer has all gone," the Critics' Choice Award winner clarified that it was only a manifestation of recovery and not a fact.
"I don't have my results yet. I added the [fingers-crossed emoji] in thinking people would understand, and clearly a lot didn't," she explained. "A weird situation. My fault for not being clearer."
Jessie noted that the earlier post was simply a discussion of the pros and cons of her health journey.
Before making it out in the clear, Jessie warned fans about the state of her health amid recovery from her mastectomy.
In an Instagram Stories post, the "Bang Bang" songstress revealed she was "a little uncomfortable" as she had quit painkillers, focusing on exercises and rest as her only rehabilitation.
As a result, the 37-year-old advised fans that she may seem "a little out of it" if they run into her in public. "It's not personal. I don't have what l usually have to give energy-wise, understandably. I will get there. It's a slow road. For now, I am taking it easy. Enjoying the slow vibes and staying positive," she added.

Chad Michael Murray reveals near-death health scare that led to blood transfusion, 2-month hospitalization
Chad Michael Murray almost didn't make it to Hollywood. The 'Freakier Friday' actor, 43, revealed he suffered a near-death experience at age 15 that involved an emergency blood transfusion and a lengthy hospital stay. Opening up about the terrifying health scare, Murray — who got his big break as heartthrob Lucas Scott in 'One Tree Hill' — shared that his intestines 'had twisted' when he was just a teen. 9 Chad Michael Murray at the UK premiere of 'Freaky Friday' in London. It was a lot,' he recalled on the Friday, August 8, episode of the 'Great Company' podcast. 'We had surgery. I had internal bleeding, [and] I lost 50 percent of my blood. I was on my deathbed,' the actor explained, adding he was 'in and out of consciousness' and doesn't have many memories from that time. 'I just remember seeing my father, the weakest I'd ever seen him, and a priest at the end of my bed,' Murray said. 'They're talking about last rites and all that stuff, and [the nurse] gave me a blood transfusion to save my life. 'Regardless, you're in there for two months and, you know, my organs shut down because you have blood all coagulated around them, and they had to wait till everything. So, anyway, I had to have a second surgery to clean everything up,' he stated. He also disclosed that his two nurses, Sandy and Alana, inspired him to pursue his Hollywood dreams. 9 Chad Michael Murray takes a selfie. chadmichaelmurray/Instagram 'Alana says to me, 'Oh gosh, you should model,'' he reminisced. 'I was like, 'I don't want to model. I want to be an actor. Like, I love film and television. I want to give this gift to other people.' She's like, 'Well, you can segue from modeling into acting. Look, when you get out, I'm hooking you up with a modeling company I know.' And she meant it.' Murray said he hardly recognized himself after the scary ordeal. 'I got out. I went from, like, 180 to 118 pounds. I was a skeleton when I got out,' he said of being discharged from the monthslong hospital stay. 'It was the scariest thing ever. Glen Wilson Years after his near-death health scare, Murray's career skyrocketed. He starred in the CW's 'One Tree Hill' from the pilot in 2003 to 2009, departing from the popular teen drama after Season 6 over an alleged contract negotiation dispute. Murray later returned to the series for one episode of the final season in 2012. The star's other major role included starring alongside Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan as the latter's interest, Jake, in 'Freaky Friday' (2003). Murray reprised his role as the hunky bad boy for the film's sequel, 'Freakier Friday,' out in theaters now. The Post's movie critic Johnny Oleksinski gave the follow-up film a two-and-a-half out of four stars rating, noting that while the sequel was a decent comeback for Lohan, Murray's appearance 'was shoved in like a book under a wobbly table.'

Celebrities React To Dean Cain Joining ICE
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has been ramping up efforts to find new recruits, like offering student loan forgiveness, $50,000 signing bonuses, lowering qualifications, and recruitment videos from known MAGA-lebrities like this actor who was once well-known for playing Superman. Actor Dean Cain, best known for playing Superman in the early '90s series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, has been a vocal supporter of President Donald Trump and has now joined ICE. On Aug. 6, he told Jesse Watters on Fox, "I put out a recruitment video yesterday. I'm actually a sworn deputy sheriff and a reserve police officer. I wasn't part of ICE, but once I put that out there and you put a little blurb on your show, it went crazy. So now I've spoken with some of the officials over at ICE, and I will be sworn in as an ICE agent ASAP. So they'll have 88,001 recruits for their 10,000 positions." Dean said he plans to do whatever Director of ICE, Todd Lyons, wants him to do, because he believes "This country was built on patriots stepping up, whether it was popular or not, and doing the right thing." In an Aug. 8 Instagram video, actor and activist John Leguizamo slammed Dean, saying, "What kind of loser volunteers to be an ICE officer? What a moron. Dean Cain, your pronouns are has/been." John is a longtime advocate for representation, even recently celebrating the diversity of the slate of nominees on stage at the 2024 Emmys. "For years I didn't complain about the limited roles my people were offered… Turns out not complaining doesn't change anything. So for the past few years, I've been complaining." In response to John's video calling Dean a "has been" Frank Grillo, who plays Rick Flag Sr. in the latest Superman movie, responded that he "never was." Tatum O'Neal, the youngest person to ever win an Academy Award in 1974, responded with six clapping emojis. Director Lee Daniels simply laughed at John's statement. Comedian Margaret Cho blasted Dean for joining ICE in an Instagram video. "Why would you join ICE and encourage people to join ICE when your ancestors were interned in World War II?" she asked. "You're Japanese. You're not even white... I know you, and you are not white. You have never been white. And no matter how many of these white activities that you participate in, it's never going to make that happen... No matter how racist you are, no matter how wrong you act... Always wrong, never white." Margaret is referring to the fact that Dean, born Dean Tanaka, is half-Japanese on his father's side. "Tanaka is my given name, and it's funny that people are like, 'Well, you tried to hide that.' It's tattooed on my ankle,' he said in a July 2025 interview with Variety. 'My family was interned in the Minidoka internment camp in Idaho. That was a horrible injustice, but I don't think that I deserve any sort of reparations." We'll keep you updated if any other celebrities speak up about the former '90s Superman joining the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Reason Husky Is Giving Owner the Cold Shoulder Has Internet in Stitches
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A dog owner from Temecula, California, shared a video of her Siberian husky refusing to engage with her or even just acknowledge her presence, and the reason why has left internet users in stitches. The hilarious post shared on Instagram in May under the username @sassyhuskies, shows the pup, 9-year-old Eva, in the front seat of her owner's car, hiding her face away and refusing to interact with her as a punishment for making her leave her favorite pet store. "Are you ignoring me because we left the pet store? Eva we can't stay there all day, baby!" the poster can be heard telling the pup, as she sticks to her guns, refusing to even turn around and look at her. "She was soooo mad when we left her fav pet store," the caption says. Screenshots of the viral video show Eva refusing to interact with her owner. Screenshots of the viral video show Eva refusing to interact with her owner. @sassyhuskies The poster, Olivea Michel, told Newsweek that Eva loves visiting her favorite pet store in Temecula, Puptqe, and when they try to leave, she throws a tantrum where she will lie on the ground and refuse to move. "She will go as far as pretending to be asleep to ignore me," she said. "On this day, they gave me a treat to lure her back to the car with, and once we got in the car, and she realized she had been tricked, she put her head to look at the backseat and refused to respond to me. "I was only able to win back her attention by stopping at the ice cream store on the way home and sharing some ice cream with her. She's very sensitive and emotional and will throw a tantrum to ignore me when she doesn't get her way." While Siberian huskies are known for being intelligent, talkative, and fun to be around, Gentle Vet lists them as number three most challenging dogs, especially for beginners. Just like Eva, these pups tend to throw a tantrum when things don't go their way, and their intelligence and strong-will can make dealing with them frustrating. Other challenging dog breeds in the list include Belgian Malinois, which need extensive physical and mental exercise, and without the firm training are prone to neurotic and destructive behavior; Catahoula leopard dogs, also prone to destructive behavior; Chow Chows, and border collies. The video quickly went viral on social media and it has so far received over 13.6 million views and 732,500 likes. One user, Somethinglikeaclassic, commented: "She said I need a moment to figure out why you hate me so much. The dramatics is outstanding." G0lden_graham said: "Toddlers in fur costumes." Chanala_latson added: "If attitude was a person lol. Love dogs." Do you have funny and adorable videos or pictures of your pet you want to share?
