Five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo's eldest son Cristiano dos Santos has been called up to the Portugal U-15 football team for the first time on Tuesday. The development of Dos Santos getting selected in the youth national team was shared by the Al Nassr star who took to Instagram to share the exciting news.
Like his father, the 14-year-old Dos Santos currently plays for Al Nassr youth team in Saudi Arabia. He also had spells at Juventus and Manchester United - Ronaldo's former clubs.
Portugal U-15 will face the likes of Japan, Greece and England at the Vlatko Markovic youth tournament in Croatia scheduled to be held from May 13 to 18. Beaming with pride, Ronaldo wrote on Instagram, 'Proud of you, son.'
Dos Santos's made a move to Al Nassr from Manchester United in 2023 after Ronaldo left the Old Trafford following a fall out with then Red Devils boss Erik Ten Hag.
Prior to that, Dos Santos represented Juventus at the youth level. Following his move to Al Nassr, Dos Santos impressed everyone in the Saudi Arabian youth division. He has also been at Real Madrid academy.
According to a BBC report, Dos Santos has scored as many as 58 goals in a season during his time with Juventus. He has also played alongside former Manchester United great Wayne Rooney's son, Kai, at the Old Trafford during Ronaldo's second stint with English giants.
Notably, Dos Santos is also eligible to play for the United States - his country of birth - and Spain because of Ronaldo's residency when his father was playing for Real Madrid.

Monty Panesar speculates reason behind Virat Kohli's retirement ahead of England series: ‘He'll probably hasn't worked out solutions in that corridor of uncertainty'

As the Australian tour went on, Virat Kohli's dismissal started to become identical as he would flap at a delivery outside the off-stump around the fourth-fifth stump channel to edge it behind the stumps. However, it was not often he had these issues Down Under, but in English conditions, where he had issues regarding that line. Former England cricketer Monty Panesar speculated that it might be the reason why Kohli is not working out the solutions might be the probable cause of his retirement from the format. 'With Kohli, what has happened is that against the ball outside the off stump, the fifth stump line, especially in Australia on fast bouncy pitches, he was struggling,' Panesar said, speaking to PTI. 'So he probably thought maybe the fact that in England it is going to swing a lot more, he'll probably hasn't worked out solutions in that corridor of uncertainty.' 'And I think that's probably been one of the reasons why he thought to retire and put all his energy with RCB and ODI cricket for India,' Panesar observed. 'I think he's done very well as a cricketer in all formats. He has been a brilliant ambassador for Test cricket. He probably feels that he's done his best, he's achieved everything and probably feels like it's time for the youngsters to step up,' he added. Regardless of his issues, technically, Kohli managed to have a brilliant tour to England in 2018. 'It would be a lot tougher for Kohli to repeat the same performances of 2018. Just a simple fact that he's been struggling over the last 12 to 18 months with that ball outside off stump. He hasn't got a solution for that, you know the problem that he has on the fourth and fifth stump. 'So he's thinking it's better for Indian cricket to give youngsters a go and hopefully find the next superstar,' concluded Panesar.

At one end it feels like you are standing very high and at the other end it feels like you are falling. But the ball goes fast in both directions.' Smith also likes Lord's lunch Smith also said in a conversation with ESPNcricinfo, 'And then the lunch here is great. People say that this is a ground where you can enjoy lunch if you are not able to score runs. Fortunately or unfortunately, I have performed quite well here in the last few years, so I have not been able to enjoy lunch as much.'
