He added, 'Because I had such great memories working with YoonA before, I went into the rewrites with her in mind from the very beginning. In the film, YoonA essentially plays two roles: Seon Ji by day and Seon Ji by night. And she delivers a truly
self-sacrificing performance
. Her character's obsession with chiffon cake leads to some intense mukbang scenes, and she shocks the audience with her mischievous side by diving into the Han River'.
The two have previously worked together on the hit movie 'Exit', which was released in 2019.
What went down behind the production of the scene
There is one scene in the film where Yoona's character, after transforming into a devil as soon as the night hits, jumps into the Han River. While most would've thought that the scene was shot somewhere else, the actress ended up jumping into the Han River to get the perfect shot!
While talking about the scene, the director delved into how everyone, including Yoona, had been worried about doing the scene, even though two divers were already present in the water to help her as soon as she jumped.
'There was only one shot at it. I was sitting far away in a boat in front of the camera, praying it would be captured well. We were both very nervous going at it. But because we had only one chance, we were laser-focused, and it worked. It made me think, when we're desperate, we can do the impossible', Sang Geun added.
