Saquon Barkley makes bold claim about 2024 Eagles' place in NFL history
It's safe to say that Saquon Barkley is very high on his Super Bowl-winning Eagles squad.
When asked where he believes that the 2024 Eagles rank in NFL history, Barkley did not hold back, saying that the team is top-five of all time.
'I firmly believe when you look at our team that we had last year — I know we're not looking too far into the past — but our team last year, I think we're a top-five team of all time,' Barkley said during an episode of the 'Exciting Mics' podcast on Thursday.

'I tell my boys this all the time. We started off 2-2, and we lost to Washington. Jalen [Hurts] got hurt that game.
'But if you really look at the season outside the first four games, it was belt to ass. How dominant you guys were on defense and how dominant we were on offense and special teams, people don't realize how great of a team that actually was.'
The Eagles were tied with the Vikings for the third-best record in the NFL last year, going 14-3 in the regular season.
After a somewhat rocky start to the 2024 season, the Eagles finished the year with a 10-1 record in which they outscored their opponents 329-188.
The Eagles were able to take that run into the postseason, defeating the two-time defending champion Chiefs in Super Bowl 2025 in a blowout 40-22 win.
'I think we all just bought in,' Barkley said. 'You hear the outside noise and expectation. We didn't care how it looked. The only thing we cared about was winning football games. When you have the talent and skill that we have on our team mixed with the coaches, we all play together like how we played, teams really stood no chance.
'You've seen that in the playoffs. You've seen that in the Super Bowl. The score finished 40 to 20-something, but in reality, it wasn't even really a game.'
Barkley, who rushed for 2,005 yards last year, added, 'I really think when we look back on it in 10 to 15 years, and we're all old and we're reflecting on our glory days — hopefully next year, the year we're in right now — but the year that we had last year, people don't give us enough credit.'

During the podcast, Barkley also took the time to call out the owners who tried to ban the Eagles' signature tush push play.
The vote did not pass, though 22 teams vote in favor of banning the play.
'The banning thing of it, I think it's soft, to be honest,' Barkley said. 'Because everybody can do it. It's not like a play that we only can do, everybody can do it. It's just, we happen to have one of the best and biggest O-lines and Jalen Hurts can squat 600 pounds. That's not our fault.'
'Josh Allen is super big, [the Bills] aren't successful with it. Lamar Jackson is one of the best running quarterbacks of all time, [the Ravens] aren't successful with it,' Barkley added. 'It's not something that everyone can't do, so them trying to eliminate it, I think that's kind of lame.'

Advertisement The 6-foot- 1/2 , 205-pound four-star cornerback from Fort Lauderdale picked the Bulldogs over Texas, Ohio State, Florida and Miami, according to his X account on Tuesday June 3. Smart in 2018 told the recruiting story of Minkah Fitzpatrick to Alabama. Smart and then offensive line coach Mario Cristobal were higher on him than coach Nick Saban. "[Saban] didn't like Minkah at one point," Smart told "That, to me, was just crazy because Mario Cristobal and I were fighting like hell [for Fitzpatrick]. We thought he was such a good kid." Justice Fitzpatrick, who plays for St. Thomas Aquinas, is the nation's No. 47 overall prospect and No. 3 cornerback. Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals are looking to get back into contention in the AFC during the upcoming 2025 NFL season. Following a rough all-around 2024 campaign that saw the Bengals finish with a 9-8 record and miss the playoffs, Burrow and company want to win. They have a solid roster and were able to make two key moves by extending both Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. There are still questions about 2024 NFL sack leader Trey Hendrickson's future. That situation will need to get figured out and Cincinnati will need him on the field to live up to its full potential. After that, the Bengals should have a playoff caliber team. "He's an incredible quarterback. He's just fun to watch play. He's exciting when the ball is in his hands," Manning said. "The game is never over. He's calm, he's collected, he doesn't sweat. Knicks rumors: Teammates frustrated by Karl-Anthony Towns' defensive execution
The post Knicks rumors: Teammates frustrated by Karl-Anthony Towns' defensive execution appeared first on ClutchPoints. After watching their favorite team drop a brutal Game 6 effort against the Indiana Pacers, New York Knicks fans were not particularly happy with Karl-Anthony Towns. Advertisement Once expected to be the missing piece of an NBA Finals-winning roster, KAT was instead a big reason why the team came up short, so much so that multiple personalities were already mocking him in trades for the offseason. And to make matters worse for the KAT camp, James L. Edwards III and Fred Katz of The Athletic dropped a massive article on what went wrong with the Knicks' playoff run that painted the stretch big in a not-so-pleasant light. 'Publicly, Knicks players made veiled comments all season about poor communication causing their inconsistencies,' Edwards III and Katz wrote. 'Behind the scenes, they and coaches expressed frustration with Towns' defensive habits — less concerned with his talent level and more with his process on that end. Too often, Towns executed incorrect coverages without communicating why he did it. After it became a theme, players worried Towns didn't grasp the importance of the matter.' While Towns wasn't exactly known for his ability to play solid defense during his run with the Timberwolves, he was targeted often during the Knicks' playoff run, to the point where games often came down to how many shots he made versus how many he gave up. While some hurt feelings could ease with time, one has to wonder if the Knicks and KAT can continue together without some serious changes. © Soobum Im-Imagn Images PJ Tucker weighs in on the Knicks' dysfunction Elsewhere in The Athletic's breakdown, PJ Tucker commented on the Knicks' issues, noting that communication between teammates is key to executing a successful offense and defense. Advertisement 'They all talk to me. But they didn't talk to each other in real-time, in those situations,' Tucker told The Athletic. 'The situations to get stops, to have help, you know what I'm saying? That, to me, we have talent, but that's 80 percent of everything else – being able to communicate, be able to get stops, to be on the same page on offense, and be able to read each other. We needed to do those things instead of putting our hands up and looking at each other. It's changed. Do I think it needs to get better? One hundred percent. But it's come a long way since I've got here, for sure.' While these comments might not have read as an indictment on KAT's play at the time, there's a reason why Edwards III and Katz included it during their story immediately after commenting on his lack of defensive effort. If the Knicks are going to blast past the Eastern Conference Finals and return to the NBA Finals for the first time this century, it will need to be addressed one way or another.
