Latest Update on Michigan State
Michigan State has picked up a flurry of commitments during the first few weeks of official visits season, with the Spartans adding six commits to its 2026 class since the start of June. The Spartans are up to 10 commits in the 2026 class, with expectations of some additional prospects joining this mix over the next few weeks.
This recent surge of commitments has pushed the Spartans class back into the top 50 nationally in 247Sports' composite rankings. However, among Big Ten schools, Michigan State still ranks near the bottom of the bunch at No. 15 of the 18 teams from the league.

Four Gators named Phil Steele Preseason All-Americans Four Florida Gators made the Phil Steele Preseason All-America team this year, according to 247Sports, but none of those names are DJ Lagway. Jake Slaughter headlines the list as an AP All-American at the close of the 2024 season; however, Steele has him on his Second Team. The only First Team member from Florida this year is long snapper Rocco Underwood, who claimed the Patrick Mannelly Award last season as the best at his position. Defensive lineman Caleb Banks is on the Third Team after a strong finish to the 2024 campaign. He had the chance to enter the NFL draft but opted to stay with the Gators for another season. Looking to improve his draft stock, Banks could be among the best linemen in the SEC this season. He had 12 tackles, 7.0 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery over 10 starts last year. Redshirt sophomore Eugene Wilson III is a somewhat surprising addition to the Fourth Team from Steele. Wilson was among the better freshmen receivers two years ago, but injuries slowed him down and forced a redshirt last year. Steele is assuming a return to form from Wilson with DJ Lagway throwing the ball to him. Michigan State football landed its first four-star recruit for Jonathan Smith's 2026 class. Offensive lineman Collin Campbell from Arizona announced his commitment to the Spartans via social media on Friday, June 12. He is MSU's 11th pledge in the recruiting cycle and the second offensive lineman. Notre Dame's secondary is among best in nation, according to Pro Football Focus College
Notre Dame's defense has earned yet another accolade, and we still haven't played a down of the 2025 college football season yet. Pro Football Focus College has the Fighting Irish secondary listed at third in their roundup of the top 10 secondaries. They're in the top five behind Texas and Alabama and ahead of Clemson and Ohio State. Advertisement This even with Xavier Watts and Benjamin Morrison headed to the NFL. The growth of players like Leonard Moore and Christian Gray, plus the return of veteran Adon Shuler and the addition of Devonta Smith from Alabama have PFF feeling good about the back end of Notre Dame's defense. Here's a bit of what PFF said: "The Fighting Irish made the national championship game last year off a dominant ground game and an elite secondary. Considering Notre Dame has PFF's No. 2 running back unit and our third-ranked secondary, that blueprint should remain the same in 2025." Let's hope that blueprint isn't just the same, but better.
