Two types of ambassadors are being sought. The first – ambassador navigators who circulate bus stops, transit centers, and buses to help with scheduling information and logistics. The second – care navigators who are interested in psychology, social services, and providing resources to those experiencing substance abuse as well as homelessness. ABQ RIDE says this is what the program aims to do:
'Help riders feel confident with navigation
Provide directional information
Promote Safety
Welcoming presence on buses
Improve efficiency
Reduce Confusion
Foster sense of community'
The ambassador program launched at the beginning of April.

Report ranks New Mexico 10th in traffic fatalities nationwide for 2024
NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – A new report said New Mexico was among the worst states for deadly crashes last year. According to the nonprofit transportation research firm, Trip, New Mexico saw 1.43 traffic fatalities per 100 million vehicle miles per hour. That's the 10th highest rate in the country, and above the national rate of 1.20. Learn about fossil identification and how it's done. There will be a paleontologist, geologist, and naturalist present to help visitors identify potential fossils and photos of animal traces. This event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 12 Downtown Growers' Market – Visit Albuquerque's longest-running farmers' market for the largest selection of local farmers providing fresh produce, eggs, honey, meats, local goods, hot prepared foods on-site, and handmade art, crafts, and body care products. Every Saturday from April to mid-November, enjoy live music starting at 10 a.m. July 12 Celebration of Lavender – The Los Ranchos Art Market is holding its celebration of lavender over two weekends. NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – New Mexico is home to hundreds of cities, small towns, villages, and unincorporated territories. These municipalities cover only 1% of the state's land area but contain over 65% of its population. With populations ranging from 22 (Grenville) to over 560,000 (Albuquerque), there are countless hidden gems sprinkled throughout New Mexico. In most cases, a small town is defined as having a population of 20,000 or less. KRQE asked viewers via social media which small town in the Land of Enchantment was their favorite. The village lies in the Sierra Blanca mountain range and is near Ski Apache, the southernmost ski resort in the United States. To the southwest sits Lincoln National Forest with hiking trails and waterfalls, and to the northeast sits the Lincoln Historical Site with 19th-century stone and adobe buildings. Each summer, the Ruidoso Downs Race Track hosts horse races, including the All American Futurity. In second place, with a population of 12,905, is Las Vegas, New Mexico, in San Miguel County. Once split into two separate municipalities, West Las Vegas (Old Town) and East Las Vegas (New Town), separated by the Gallinas River, this city retains distinct characteristics on both sides.
