Sleep Token Swaps One No. 1 Smash For Another On Multiple Charts
Even in Arcadia, the brand new full-length from Sleep Token, arrived on Friday (May 9), and it's headed for a sizable debut on the Billboard charts in just a few days. The collection has already produced a number of hit songs, including 'Damocles,' which appears on more than a dozen tallies in America this frame.
'Damocles' is not just another hit for Sleep Token. The English heavy metal band trades one winner for another on several rankings as the new tune arrives during what has turned out to be a very special frame for the group.
'Damocles' opens at No. 1 on all three of Billboard's hard rock-focused rankings. It starts its run at the summit on the Hot Hard Rock Songs, Hard Rock Streaming Songs, and Hard Rock Digital Song Sales charts.
Sleep Token has been in this position before. In fact, just last week, the band led two of those three hard rock-only lists. 'The Summoning,' the previous single from Even in Arcadia, topped both the Hot Hard Rock Songs and Hard Rock Streaming Songs rankings. This time around, that tune dips only slightly, landing in second place.
Sleep Token manages to control the top three rungs on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart. Billboard's list of the most consumed hard rock cuts in the U.S. now features 'Damocles' at No. 1, while 'The Summoning' dips at No. 2. 'Emergence,' the first single from the new album, falls to third place, giving the band a complete lock on the uppermost trio of positions on the list of the most popular hard rock cuts in the nation.
Including the hard rock-specific rankings, 'Damocles' debuts inside the top 10 on nine different Billboard charts this frame. In addition to leading the three hard rock lists, the single also hits No. 1 on the Alternative Digital Song Sales chart. The exciting new launch comes in second on both the Rock Streaming Songs and Rock Digital Song Sales rosters as well, and performs well on several other tallies.

London is set to go cat crazy this summer when one of the UK's most dazzling feline events arrives in the capital. The Fancy Cats London SpeCATular will transform the University of Greenwich's Avery Hill campus into a paradise for cat lovers on August 30 and 31. The event promises a celebration of all things feline, with pedigree breeds and household cats competing for titles, prizes, and the coveted Best in Show. "I have quite rare breeds that perhaps not many people know much about so it is a good opportunity to raise their profile and to allow a new audience to discover them." The show will also highlight the work of cat rescue organisations. At a previous event, Kool Cat Rescue found homes for four kittens after visitors met them at the show. Founders Jools Price and Mitzi Booth said: "The shows that Fancy Cats put on give us the opportunity to highlight the work that we do to look after and find loving homes for cats in need and at the same time enable us to raise much needed funds for the work that we do. "We are delighted that four of our kittens will have now found new homes through our presence at their last show." 'I went to a Mamma Mia party at Bluewater and unleashed my inner dancing queen'
Forget Greece - it turns out you only need a trip to Dartford to unleash your inner dancing queen. Nearly two decades after Mamma Mia! The Movie was released, the rom-com musical still has a hold over pretty much every woman I know. It was fitting, then, that I took three generations of women in my family to a Mamma Mia Party at Showcase Cinema de Lux Bluewater - and we all had an absolute blast. DJ Jude and performer Tony Deluxe (Image: Showcase Cinema de Lux Bluewater) Stepping out of the lift and into the VIP Gallery Bar was like entering the disco-world of ABBA: everywhere I looked was sequins, sparkles and feather boas. DJ Jude was already getting everyone up and dancing with hits from the film and self-styled "king of disco" Tony Deluxe was bringing enough energy and glitter to rival Donna and the Dynamos. Bottomless prosecco, pizza and chocolates kept the dancing going (Image: Charlotte Anderson) To keep the dancing going, there was bottomless prosecco and pizza, as well as boozy chocolates from Hotel Chocolat. Everyone got the VIP treatment, whether that was regular top-ups from staff or a cool-down fan from Tony Deluxe. Just when we thought there couldn't be any more dancing, the king of disco led us through easy but high-energy routines to a few ABBA songs, building anticipation to the screening.
