"Desh nahi mitne dunga, desh nahi Jhukne dunga": PM Modi hits out at Pak in first public rally after Op Sindoor
Bikaner (Rajasthan) [India], May 22 (ANI): In his first public rally after the success of Operation Sindoor, PM Modi on Thursday highlighted the Indian Armed Forces bravery during the operation. The PM also reiterated his 2019 promise, saying, 'Saugandh mujhe iss Desh ki mitti ki, mein desh nahi mitne dunga, mein desh nahi Jhukne dunga.'
Addressing a public rally in Rajasthan's Bikaner, PM Modi said, 'When I came after the airstrikes, I said, Saugandh mujhe iss Desh ki mitti ki, m desh nhi mitne dunga, mein desh nhi Jhukne dunga,'Those who came to erase Sindoor, we have demolished them.'
PM Modi in his first public rally after Operation Sindoor recalled his visit to Rajasthan after balakot airstrikes: 'This brave land of Rajasthan teaches us that nothing is greater than the country and its citizens. On April 22nd, terrorists destroyed the vermilion from the foreheads of our sisters by asking about their religion. Those bullets were fired in Pahalgam, but those bullets pierced the hearts of 140 crore countrymen. After this, every citizen of the country united and resolved that they would wipe out the terrorists. We will punish them more than they can imagine.'
'It is a coincidence that after the country carried out air strikes in Balakot 5 years ago, my first public meeting was held on the border in Rajasthan itself. It is due to the penance of Veerbhoomi that such a coincidence takes place. Now this time when Operation Sindoor happened, then after that my first public meeting is again taking place here in Bikaner on the border of Veerbhoomi Rajasthan among all of you,' he added.
PM Modi said the country's forces destroyed 9 of the biggest hideouts of terrorists in 22 minutes.
'Today, with your blessings and the valour of the country's army, we have all lived up to that pledge. Our government gave a free hand to all three forces... Together, the three forces created such a Chakravyuh that Pakistan was forced to kneel down. In response to the attack on the 22nd, we destroyed 9 of the biggest hideouts of terrorists in 22 minutes. The world and the enemies of the country have also seen what happens when Sindoor turns into gunpowder,' PM Modi said in reference to the name of the operation 'Sindoor'.
'Rajasthan teaches us that nothing is more important than the nation. On 22nd April, terrorists targeted our people, asking their religion and wiping the sindoor of our sisters. The bullets fired in Pahalgam wounded the hearts of 140 crore Indians. In response, the entire nation vowed to punish the terrorists in a way they could never imagine. With the valour of our armed forces, Pakistan was forced to bow. In reply to the 22nd April attack, within just 22 minutes, terrorist camps were destroyed. The country witnessed that when the sindoor of our sisters is targeted, the response can shake the enemy to its core,' he further added.
Highlighting the government's efforts to modernise the country's infrastructure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that there is a sixfold increase in spending on infrastructure in India in recent years.
'Today, I have come among you after seeking blessings from Karni Mata. By Her grace, our resolution of creating Viksit Bharat becomes even stronger. Today a mahayagyan is going on to make modern infrastructure in the country to make Vikshit Bharat, Remarkable efforts have been put in the last 11 years to make our roads, airports and railway stations modern. There is a six times increase in money on infrastructures than earlier times,' PM Modi said. (ANI)

The Prime Minister expressed his heartfelt condolences in a tribute posted on social media platform X. Airspace squeeze deepens for Indian airlines amid West Asia crisis
International operations of Indian airlines were thrown into disarray on Friday after Iran, Iraq, Jordan, and Israel closed their airspace on Friday, dealing a severe blow to carriers already grappling with Pakistan's ongoing airspace ban following India's Operation Sindoor last month. These restrictions have narrowed westbound corridors drastically, forcing significant detours, delays, cancellations, and flight recalls, particularly affecting routes to Europe and North America. The Iranian closure came in response to Israel's large-scale military offensive — Operation Rising Lion — targeting nuclear and defense installations across Iran. Iran sealed its airspace, citing security concerns. Iraq, Jordan, and Israel followed suit, escalating the disruption. For Indian airlines, the detour requirements have become significantly longer, leading to increased fuel costs, tight crew rotations, and additional logistical complications. On Friday, IndiGo — India's largest airline — issued a public advisory noting that some of its services may experience longer flight times or cancellations due to airspace closures over Iran and nearby regions. 'Please check your flight status on our website or app before heading to the airport,' the airline said on X. The situation was far more acute for Air India, which had to recall or reroute at least 16 international flights, less than 24 hours after suffering one of the deadliest aviation disasters in Indian history. The fatal crash of AI171 flight in Ahmedabad on Thursday killed 241 passengers and crew and left just one survivor, deepening the airline's ongoing crisis. Air India confirmed on X that multiple transatlantic and Europe-bound flights were impacted. Flight AI130 from London Heathrow to Mumbai was diverted to Vienna, while AI102 from New York to Delhi landed in Sharjah. Another New York service, AI116 to Mumbai, was rerouted to Jeddah. Flight AI2018 from London to Delhi had to be brought down in Mumbai, and AI-106 from Newark to Delhi was diverted to Vienna. Outbound flights faced equally serious complications. AI129 from Mumbai to London and AI119 from Mumbai to New York both returned to Mumbai. From Delhi, AI103 to Washington DC and AI189 to Toronto were recalled after departure. Meanwhile, AI188 from Vancouver to Delhi was sent to Jeddah, and AI101 from Delhi to New York was rerouted to either Frankfurt or Milan depending on prevailing airspace conditions. AI126 from Chicago to Delhi also had to land in Jeddah. Flight AI132 from London to Bengaluru was diverted to Sharjah. Two other flights — AI2016 from London and AI104 from Washington to Delhi -- were both rerouted to Vienna. AI190 from Toronto to Delhi was diverted to Frankfurt. The airline expressed regret for the inconvenience and said passengers on affected flights were being offered complimentary rescheduling or full refunds. 'Alternative arrangements are being made to fly passengers to their destinations,' the airline said, adding that it was providing hotel accommodation where necessary to minimise disruption.

Israeli PM dials PM Modi amid conflict with Iran; India calls for peace
PM Modi conveyed India's concerns over the situation and emphasised the urgent need for the early restoration of peace and stability in the region Amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called PM Narendra Modi on Friday to speak about the evolving situation in the region. "Received a phone call from PM Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel. He briefed me on the evolving situation. I shared India's concerns and emphasized the need for early restoration of peace and stability in the region," PM Modi said in a post on X. Received a phone call from PM @netanyahu of Israel. He briefed me on the evolving situation. I shared India's concerns and emphasized the need for early restoration of peace and stability in the region. — Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) June 13, 2025 Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office stated that the strike was part of 'Operation Rising Lion', intended to counter what Israel sees as threats from Tehran. According to media reports, Iran's Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, General Mohammad Bagheri; the Commander of the Revolutionary Guards, General Hossein Salami; and the head of Iran's Emergency Command were all killed in the strikes. In retaliation, Iran reportedly launched a counteroffensive involving over 100 drones targeting various sites across Israel. However, Israeli defence systems were promptly engaged to intercept the aerial threats. India expresses concern Earlier in the day, India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) expressed "deep concern" over the escalation between Israel and Iran, urging both sides to exercise restraint and avoid further destabilising the region. In an official statement, the MEA said, 'We are deeply concerned at the recent developments between Iran and Israel. We are closely monitoring the evolving situation, including reports related to attacks on nuclear sites.' Calling for dialogue over conflict, the MEA added, 'India urges both sides to avoid any escalatory steps. Existing channels of dialogue and diplomacy should be utilised to work towards a de-escalation of the situation and resolving underlying issues.'
