Over 600 civilians killed in Iran during 12-day war with Israel
In a statement on X, ministry spokesperson Hossein Kermanpour said that 'in the past 12 days, hospitals witnessed extremely horrifying scenes,' confirming that at least 610 civilians have been killed and more than 4,700 injured.
According to Kermanpour, the toll includes 44 women and 13 children among the dead, while 163 women were reported injured. He also noted that five doctors and paramedics were killed in Israeli airstrikes.
The ministry emphasized that the figures account only for civilian casualties.

According to a source quoted by Al Jazeera, the proposal includes: -A 60-day ceasefire. -Release of 10 living Israeli captives and 18 bodies, in exchange for 140 Palestinian prisoners serving life terms, 60 others sentenced to over 15 years, all female and juvenile detainees, and the transfer of Palestinian remains. -Entry of aid through UN, Red Crescent, and humanitarian agencies. -Israeli withdrawal of roughly 1,000 meters in the north and east of Gaza, except for the Shejaiya and Beit Lahia neighborhoods. -Launch of broader negotiations to end the war once the truce takes effect. Hamas's acceptance comes after a meeting between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, during which both leaders underlined the urgent need to deliver aid without obstruction, secure the release of captives, and reject any reoccupation or forced displacement of Palestinians.

Iraq's judiciary: Dr Ban Ziyad died by suicide
Shafaq News – Baghdad Iraq's Supreme Judicial Council announced on Monday the closure of the investigation into the death of Dr. Ban Ziyad, a young psychiatrist from Basra. In a statement, the council said the Basra Court of Appeal had submitted its decision to the council's president, confirming that the case was classified as a suicide, and therefore, the investigation has been officially closed. Dr. Ziyad's death on August 4 at her family's home in Basra stirred widespread public anger and became a matter of national debate. Many Iraqis, including medical colleagues and activists, rejected the suicide narrative adopted by her family and demanded an independent inquiry into what they suspected was a killing. Her colleagues argued she showed no signs of psychological distress, while leaked details from the forensic report — including mention of unusual injuries — fueled further skepticism.
