Police make renewed appeal on 37th birthday of man missing since 2012
Kyle Vaughan was 24 when he disappeared in Newbridge, Gwent, on December 30 2012.
Mystery surrounds his whereabouts after his crashed car was found abandoned on a country road, prompting detectives to launch a murder investigation.
Detective Chief Superintendent Andrew Tuck, who is leading the investigation, said: 'Our ongoing inquiries into what happened to Kyle before his disappearance is one of our most extensive investigations to date.
'Detectives working in our major incident team continue to investigate any information that the public passes onto us in relation to Kyle, both before and after his last-known sighting.
'We remain in regular contact with Kyle's family.
'They have never given up hope of finding out what happened to him and we will follow up any lines of inquiry that emerge to answer those questions that his family still has.
'I'm urging members of the public to contact us with any details they have, no matter how minor it may seem to assist our investigation, please come forward.'
Mr Vaughan's mother Mary died in 2018, having had advanced liver cancer for several years.
The factory worker, known to his friends as Jabbers, was last seen at his home in Newbridge.
Later that same night, his damaged silver Peugeot 306 was found on the A467 between Risca and Crosskeys.
It was not clear whether Mr Vaughan had been driving the vehicle but police said they were confident he would have been able to walk away from the collision.
A total of eight people were arrested on suspicion of offences in connection with Mr Vaughan's disappearance but all were released without charge.

Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed that they were made aware of a large gathering at a remote location in Brynrhudd Forestry in the early hours of Sunday, August 3. Concerns for safety, environment and wildlife in the area have now been raised, with members of the public advised to avoid the area. The force said that officers attended the area soon after they were made aware of the large gathering. According to the police force, due to the number of people involved and the safety aspects surrounding breaking up the event, they decided to prioritise disrupting and stopping entry of any further vehicles and people under a Section 63 notice. Chief Inspector Steve Thomas of Dyfed-Powys Police said: "We know this type of unlicensed event can cause considerable disruption and concern for safety, as well as harming the environment and disturbing wildlife, which is why we act swiftly with our partners to stop further entry and shut them down. "There is little doubt that these types of events are very well planned, organised and that local knowledge is important in drawing down the main group to a particular area of land. "We assure local communities that appropriate action was taken to deal with this event, and we will robustly investigate any criminal offences that come to light." A Natural Resources Wales spokesperson added: "We're supporting Dyfed Powys Police in the ongoing response to an unlicensed music event taking place on land we manage at Cefn Croes wind farm, Myherin forest, near Devil's Bridge, Ceredigion. "Our forests and countryside are for everyone to enjoy, but illegal events like this can harm the environment, disturb wildlife, and create unsafe conditions for others. "We advise members of the public to avoid the area while we continue to assist the police in resolving the situation. If you see anything suspicious, please report it to the police by calling 101."

New details released on man who disappeared after visiting Southern California coffee shop
New details were released on the search for a man who disappeared in 2023 after visiting a coffee shop in Southern California. Emilio Salem Ghanem, 42, of Nashville, was reported missing on May 25, 2023, after he visited a Starbucks on Redlands Boulevard in Redlands. He was driving a rented Nissan Frontier pickup truck that surveillance cameras captured later that day in Grand Terrace. However, that was the last time he was seen alive. Loved ones have not been able to reach him since and authorities have been working to find him. On Aug. 1, 2025, investigators confirmed that his rental truck had been located, along with other personal belongings and evidence. Ghanem, however, remains missing. Ghanem was a member of 'His Way Spirit Led Assemblies,' a religious organization based in Hemet. He had left that organization shortly before his disappearance, police said. He also worked for Fullshield, Inc., a pest control business that was owned and operated by the religious group. The business now operates under the name 'Maxguard,' according to detectives. Ghanem is described as a white man who stands 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 130 pounds. He has hazel eyes and black hair. Redlands police also learned that another member of the religious group, Ruben Moreno, 49, was reported missing in August 2019 and hasn't been seen since. He is described as a Hispanic man who is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair.
