Dog found dead in cage, NPD searching for owner
NORFOLK, Va.(WAVY)– A dog is dead after being abandoned in a cage in Norfolk.
On May 31, members of Norfolk Police Department's Animal Protection Unit (APU) were called to the intersection of Rippard Avenue and O'Conner Crescent for the report of an injured animal. When units arrived on scene, they found a dog inside of a cage.
The dog was pronounced dead by APU officers.
As they continue to investigate this matter, APU Officers are looking for assistance from the public to locate the owner of the dog. Anyone who knows anything about this investigation is asked to contact the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or submit a tip through the P3Tips mobile app.

Man arrested after Long Island mom found dead in car
MORICHES, Long Island (PIX11) — A man is under arrest and facing murder charges in connection with a woman who was found shot and killed in a car on Long Island, Suffolk County police say. James Quininchetta, 40, was arrested Friday and charged with second-degree murder. It comes after Rebecca Roth, 33, was found in a Hyundai Elantra with a gunshot wound around 8:20 a.m. on Friday, according to authorities.
