Almost two months after Trachtenberg's passing, a medical examiner has confirmed her sudden death was a result of complications from diabetes mellitus.
A review of laboratory test results has confirmed that Michelle Trachtenberg's cause of death has been ruled as natural. PEOPLE learned from the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner that the actor's untimely passing at the age of 39 was a result of complications of diabetes mellitus. A spokesperson told the outlet that 'the amended determination was made following review of toxicology testing results.'
On February 26, Trachtenberg was found unresponsive in her New York City apartment and pronounced dead at the scene. Deadline reported that the star's family had requested that no autopsy be conducted because of religious reasons. As a result, Trachtenberg's cause of death would remain 'undetermined.'
The medical examiner's office did not overrule the family's decision on Trachtenberg's autopsy. This was because no foul play or criminality was suspected in her passing. However, the medical examiner's office amended Trachtenberg's cause of death following the review of laboratory test results. The spokesperson for the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner also told PEOPLE that 'toxicology testing can be done without autopsy.'
Michelle Trachtenberg's sudden death came as a shock to fans, as well as her past co-stars. Following her passing, the 'Gossip Girl' cast members paid touching tributes to the actor. Trachtenberg was well known for playing Georgina Sparks in the popular show. The late actor's co-star, Chace Crawford, mourned her sudden death and called it 'just a terrible loss.' Blake Lively, too, penned a moving tribute. The 'Gossip Girl' star recalled their first meeting with a loving photo.

Previously deemed a frontrunner, Bennett has always been positioned as a strong candidate but has just got his feet under the table at BBC Studios, initiating a major restructure in the past few weeks and bringing in several new lieutenants. He is the latest big name to exit the race, following the likes of Banijay UK boss Patrick Holland, Netflix's Anne Mensah and Apple TV+ executive Jay Hunt. In around a week to 10 days' time, Deadline understands the remaining candidates will be whittled down to two, at which point they will be grilled in front of an interview panel of senior BBC executives, likely including Director General Tim Davie. Unscripted supremo Phillips remains the one to beat, with BBC insiders and highly-regarded producers pulling for her to get the job. A Netflix-shaped spanner was thrown in the works earlier this week with a report in UK TV trade Broadcast that said she is being wooed by the streamer. Deadline revealed the exit of Netflix unscripted head Ben Kelly several weeks back. Netflix UK is on quite the tear and the Broadcast article dropped on the day the SVoD poached Channel 4's film and TV drama boss Ollie Madden. McGolpin is no less senior than Phillips but Phillips has the programme-making chops and has been acting up in Moore's place over the past few months. McDonald and Brindley are old friends from BBC commissioning, where they successfully ran the specialist factual and factual entertainment departments respectively for several years. The highly-rated McDonald has been touted as a possible Moore replacement since the contest began. He has handy experience working in the States as Disney-owned Nat Geo's EVP Global Factual & Unscripted and has worked with huge stars including David Attenborough and Idris Elba. He is known, however, to have built a life in America and is happy in his current role. Twofour's Brindley is thought to be one of the other contenders. He has been overseeing a successful period for the ITV Studios-owned indie that has included landing the £20M ($27M) contract to make Destination X for the BBC and NBC, new BBC reality franchise I Kissed a Boy/Girl and a historic third series for Apple TV+ doc The Reluctant Traveler. As with McDonald, Brindley is thought to be happy in his current employ. Notably, Phillips, McDonald and Brindley skew heavily unscripted, leaving the feeling that there could still be a big name from the drama world to emerge. Led by search firms Grace Blue and Ibison, the process is moving quickly, with the BBC appearing keen to have a name in place after Moore left the building last week. 'Love Is Blind 'Alum Marshall Glaze Says Last Year Was 'Very Tough' for Him: 'I Was Going to Take My Own Life'
Marshall Glaze, who appeared on season 4 of Love Is Blind, discussed his mental health challenges on the Wednesday, June 4, edition of What's the Reality? podcast During the podcast, he discussed contemplating suicide, saying, "Last year was just very tough for me mentally, and I was going to take my own life" He recalled realizing that he wanted to "live" and said that he hoped sharing his story would allow him to "heal"Marshall Glaze is getting candid about his mental health journey. The season 4 Love Is Blind star was a guest on the Wednesday, June 4, edition of Amber Desiree "AD" Smith's podcast, What's the Reality?, during which he discussed his mental health journey over the past year. "Last year was just very tough for me mentally, and I was going to take my own life. It just got to a point where I had always been morbidly curious, but never thought about how to do it," he said. "And then, one day, I'm just down in the dumps, just crazy depressed. Nothing is going right for me in my life or I feel like nothing is going right, that's what my internal monologue is telling me," continued Glaze. The star went on to note that "those voices, that darkness just got a little bit louder, got a little bit darker." Glaze described feeling like he was "in this box," and "the walls were just getting closer and closer and closer." "No favorite meal, no favorite movie, no favorite song, could lift me out of that," he said. "I knew I had a problem when, this particular time I talked to my mom, I was okay with that being the last time I talked to her." Glaze said he knew what he was going through was "bad" because his mother was someone he talked to "multiple times throughout the day." "I was going to do what I felt like I had to do, but I couldn't," he continued, adding that he then went for a walk that he "will never forget." "Seattle is a very rainy city, and this was at peak rain season, and I lived on a very busy street in downtown Seattle, and at any time of the day, there's buses, cars, bikes, people walking, and nobody was out there," said Glaze. He recalled walking around in the rain while wearing a cut-off t-shirt, basketball shorts and a pair of slides. "I walked around the Space Needle, came around back to my apartment, and I'm like, 'I want to live,' " he said. Glaze said that sharing his story ultimately helps him "heal." "I hope that someone out there can resonate with that and choose life," he concluded.
