Edinburgh gang police in major manhunt after murder bid on Mark Richardson's pal

Police in Edinburgh are looking to trace 'four or five' men after the attempted murder of mob boss Mark Richardson's friend.
At around 9.20pm on Thursday evening, the group of males got out of a grey Land Rover Discovery and attacked David McMillian at his home on Pitcairn Grove. The 54-year-old was rushed to hospital, with his condition currently unknown.
Officers have confirmed the incident is linked to the ongoing 'gang wars' that began in Edinburgh and spread to Glasgow. Enquiries have established that the Land Rover Discovery travelled eastbound along the M8.
Images from the street on Friday morning showed the home taped off by police. Forensics were spotted scouring through the garden of the home as officers in uniform stood guard.

Detective Superintendent Paul Grainger said: "This has been a targeted attack and we are continuing our enquiries to identify those responsible.
"We know the Land Rover Discovery drove along the M8 eastbound last night. It may have been driven at speed or erratically so I would appeal to any motorists with dash cams to check their footage as the images could be significant to our investigation.

The violence began back in March after Dubai-based crime lord Mr Big, who was recently unmasked as Ross McGill, was ripped off in a cocaine deal by Mark Richardson's associates. Since then, homes and businesses of Richardson's associates have been targeted.

Moment driver nearly ploughed into group of children caught on camera
A local has hit out over incidents in the area. A Scots driver narrowly missed a group of children as they were crossing the road. The heart-stopping moment, which took place in Edinburgh, was caught on camera. Three children were crossing the road on Arkaig Gardens in the south of the city, as a red car waited for them to pass. But a black vehicle zoomed by, narrowly missing the group. Body found in search for missing 19-year-old Cole Cooper
A body has been found in the search for Cole Cooper, a 19-year-old who went missing four weeks ago in Falkirk. Police officers said the body of a man was discovered in a wooded area near Kilsyth Road in Banknock, near Falkirk, at about 4.15pm on Friday. While formal identification has yet to take place, Cooper's family, who are from the village, have been informed, Police Scotland Forth Valley said in a statement on Facebook. Cooper was last seen at about 8.45pm on 7 May on the A803 at its junction with Cumbernauld Road in Longcroft, near Falkirk. He was reported missing two days later, on 9 May. The investigation has so far involved a large-scale search operation, including the use of helicopters, divers, and specialist digital and financial investigators. Police said almost 400 people had been spoken to as part of door-to-door inquiries, and more than 2,000 hours of CCTV footage had been reviewed. Detectives had previously said they were treating the case as a missing person inquiry rather than a criminal investigation. A major incident public portal set up to collect images, footage and information from the public had received numerous submissions, police said. Police added that inquiries were ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
