Missing Madhya Pradesh lawyer found in U.P.'s town on Nepal border after 12 days
Ms. Tiwari, who was heading to Katni from Indore on the intervening nights of August 7-8 for the Rakshabandhan festival, did not reach her destination and was missing since then.
'Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel finally traced Archana Tiwari in Lakhimpur-Khiri town on the Indo-Nepal border after 12 days of hectic search,' Superintendent of Police (Railways) Rahul Kumar Lodha said.
Cops are bringing her back to Bhopal and after recording her statement, details of the entire episode will be known, he said.
Ms. Tiwari's kin earlier suspected that she was a victim of human trafficking and sought a CBI probe, but Mr. Lodha did not say anything about this angle.
According to police, the last location of the 29-year-old lawyer was traced to Itarsi station. After that, her mobile phone was found switched off.
Ms. Tiwari was a practising lawyer at the Indore bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. She was also preparing for a civil judge examination.
She left for Katni on August 7 by the Narmada Express train but did not reach her destination. Ms. Tiwari's family members later lodged a missing person complaint at the Rani Kamalapati GRP police station in Bhopal.
Police searched for clues in areas ranging from Rani Kamalapati station to Itarsi and Katni and scanned CCTV cameras of stations and surrounding areas.
Mr. Lodha said Ms. Tiwari's last location was Itarsi station.

CBI court sentences Head Constable to seven-year imprisonment in graft case
A special CBI court of Chandigarh Wednesday sentenced a Chandigarh Police Head Constable to seven-year imprisonment in a graft case. The convict, Ram Kumar, a Head Constable, was held guilty under Section 7 as well as Section 13(1) (d) (ii) punishable under Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 70,000 on the convict. A detailed judgment was yet to be released in the matter. As per the prosecution, the case dates back to 2017 when Ram Kumar, who had been posted as a head constable at Sarangpur police station, was booked by the CBI. Kumar was held in May 2017 by the sleuths of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a woman, who was named in an FIR of voluntarily causing grievous hurt. The policeman was caught from a residential area in Sarangpur. The accused was taking the bribe for not taking any action against the woman, whose husband Shiv Nath had already been arrested in the case. The complainant and her husband were booked for assaulting their relative Guru Narayan on March 3. The FIR was registered at the Sarangpur police station and the investigation was being conducted by Kumar. Following all this, Kumar had demanded Rs 18,000 from the complainant but later the deal was struck for Rs 10,000. When Kumar went to take the bribe amount, the CBI sleuths reached the spot and caught the cop and recovered the bribe money from him. During the trial in court, the defence counsel argued that Kumar had been falsely implicated in the case and had no involvement in the matter. The court, however, after hearing the arguments held the accused guilty.

No trace of man who jumped into Yamuna with daughters
Kanpur: Even after 48 hours of search, body of the man who jumped into the Yamuna along with his two daughters, has not been found. A team from the PAC flood unit, along with divers, is actively searching for the family. Due to the presence of crocodiles in the river, the team has been using hooks to search within a 20-km radius. Rajjan Nishad (35), resident of Madhepura village in Rampura police station area, worked as a labourer. He has three daughters: Sunaina (7), Ala (5), and Choti (2). According to his family members, Rajjan was addicted to alcohol and on the same issue he had a quarrel with his wife, Sharda Devi, a few days before Rakshabandhan. Consequently, Sharda called her parents, residents of Badera village in Ajitmal police station area of Auraiya. She left with her parents leaving the daughters with Rajjan. For past 15 days, Rajjan was requesting his wife to return. On Sunday night, they again had an argument over the phone. On Monday morning, around 10am, Rajjan took Sunaina, Ala, and Choti on a bike to Juhikha bridge over the Yamuna.
