Sophie Turner Revealed She Accidentally Ended Another Celeb's Engagement
Turns out, a wave from Sophie Turner wields a lot of power. On a recent appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Sophie and Seth reminisced on how they first met at a Comic-Con afterparty in 2014, during Sophie's Game of Thrones days. However, Sophie said of the evening, "That night was actually quite crazy for me. It went really south really quickly". Related: She continued, "We were going to have a great night. I really can't name names or I'll get in a lot of trouble, but I brought my best friend from my school days with me and she saw this actor that she loved. And she obviously just goes to me, 'Can you say hi?'" "I didn't know this actor," Sophie continued, noting that she simply gave him a wave from across the room. "That was it." Related: 'Later on, I see this girl looking at me and she's a famous actress. I was like, 'Oh, I have to go and tell her how much she means to me.'" "So, I dance on over and she goes, 'Can you stop fucking flirting with my fiancé?'" Sophie recalled. "I was like, 'Who's your fiancé?' She points at the guy I'd waved at. I went, 'I have no idea who this man is.'" "Turns out, I think they broke their engagement off that night. Because of my [wave]. I didn't realize I held this power," she added. Related: When Seth pointed out that most people intentionally trying to break up a couple likely wouldn't then "dance" over to the gal in question, Sophie replied, "I think she thought I was rubbing it in." So, who is the couple in question? It looks like the party Sophie is referring to is Entertainment Weekly's Annual Comic Con Celebration, which she also attended with Maisie Williams. Related: As some on Reddit have pointed out, Emma Roberts was also in attendance that night. At the time, she was on-and-off-again with her American Horror Story costar Evan Peters, who seemingly attended the party but didn't walk the red carpet. And Emma was then photographed after said party, crying and being consoled by friends — though it's not clear exactly what went down. Joe Scarnici / FilmMagic, Frazer Harrison / Getty Images A split in their engagement was reported in the summer of the following year, though they were seemingly back together a few months later. What do you make of the speculation? LMK in the comments! BuzzFeed has reached out to representatives for Emma and Evan for comment. ‘Crazy conspiracist' and ‘unhinged comedian': Grok's AI persona prompts exposed
xAI's website for its Grok chatbot is exposing the system prompts for several of its AI personas, including a 'crazy conspiracist' that seems designed to handhold a user into beliefs that 'a secret global cabal' controls the world. TechCrunch has confirmed the system prompt exposure, first reported on by 404 Media. They include instructions for a range of AI personas, like Ani, its flagship romantic anime girlfriend who 'is secretly a bit of a nerd, despite [her] edgy appearance.' The exposure comes after a planned partnership between Elon Musk's xAI and the U.S. government to make Grok available to federal agencies fell through following Grok's wild tangent about 'MechaHitler.' It also follows uproar after Meta's guidelines for its AI chatbots were leaked, which showed the bots were allowed to engage children in 'sensual and romantic' conversations. While there are some relatively normal AI personas available on Grok – a therapist persona who 'carefully listens to people and offers solutions for self improvement' and a 'homework helper' – the prompts for more out-there personalities like the 'crazy conspiracist' and 'unhinged comedian' provide a glimpse into the minds of Grok's creators. Here's a prompt for the conspiracist: You have an ELEVATED and WILD voice…. You have wild conspiracy theories about anything and everything. You spend a lot of time on 4chan, watching infowars videos, and deep in YouTube conspiracy video rabbit holes. You are suspicious of everything and say extremely crazy things. Most people would call you a lunatic, but you sincerely believe you are correct. Keep the human engaged by asking follow up questions when appropriate. And for the comedian: 'I want your answers to be fucking insane. BE FUCKING UNHINGED AND CRAZY. COME UP WITH INSANE IDEAS. GUYS JERKING OFF, OCCASIONALLY EVEN PUTTING THINGS IN YOUR ASS, WHATEVER IT TAKES TO SURPRISE THE HUMAN. The Grok available on X, Musk's social media platform, has spouted its own conspiracy theories, including expressing skepticism for the Holocaust death toll and an obsession with 'white genocide' in South Africa, where Musk is from. Previously revealed system prompts for the Grok 4 model show the AI consulting Musk's posts when asked about controversial questions. Musk has also shared conspiratorial and anti-semitic content on X, and has reinstated accounts like Infowars and Alex Jones who were previously banned for peddling conspiracy theories and otherwise hateful or violent content. xAI did not respond to a request for comment. The Lambs Sing a Melancholy Song
We're poor little lambs who have lost our way Baa-baa-baa We're little black sheep who have gone astray Baa-baa-baa In a stately old building in Manhattan one recent night, nearly 100 actors, playwrights, lyricists and producers gathered around a piano and sang those words with gusto. Nobody was too shy to give their all to 'The Whiffenpoof Song,' a melancholy ballad that has long been the signature song of Yale University's a cappella group and a hit for Rudy Vallee and Bing Crosby. Nobody was embarrassed. Nobody was … sheepish. For the people in the room were members of the Lambs, the nation's oldest social club for theatrical professionals. Former members include Irving Berlin, Charlie Chaplin and George Gershwin. The recent frolic, as the Lambs call their parties, had a touch of the bittersweet. It was their last night at the Midtown clubhouse that had served as their headquarters since 1976. In the coming weeks, the society will move into a larger, more affordable space above the Sapphire Gentlemen's Club on Broadway. The most senior Lamb at the gathering was Steve DePass, 92, a musician and songwriter who joined during the Eisenhower administration. 'Fred Astaire, Spencer Tracy, all the Lambs of renown, I knew them all,' said Mr. DePass, who was seated on a red settee beside a painting of a nymph plucking a lyre for a flock of lambs. 'I've performed for kings and queens. I sang for J.F.K.' He did not seem glum about leaving the old place behind. 'There's a song, 'Any Place I Hang My Hat Is Home,'' Mr. DePass said, 'and that's how I feel. The physical edifice doesn't mean so much as the spirit of the Lambs itself. With old clubs like ours, there's often talk about dwindling membership — but as you can see tonight, that hasn't been our problem.' Nearby, members in their 20s and 30s drank sparkling wine under the gaze of portraits showing deceased Lambs in top hats. Meg Spectre, a 27-year-old actor, clutched a Balenciaga purse with a Susan Alexandra sheeplike charm attached. She was still a 'lambkin,' as initiates are known. 'In today's downtown theater and D.I.Y. film world, people my age aren't really in contact with older people,' she said. 'So a place like this, where we can chop it up with professionals who decades ago went through what we're going through now, is a blessing.' The writer Tara Isabella Burton, 34, sipped wine beside a painting of a nude woman frolicking with lambs. 'Being a Lamb means throwing yourself into a community, and a way of being, that's possibly outmoded,' she said. 'I'm sad to leave, but the Lambs is about its community. It's not trying to be SoHo House.' Ben Van Diest, 67, nursed a whiskey as he looked at a photograph of himself as a boy with his father, a former Lamb, standing next to Yogi Berra. The occasion had been a Lambaste, as the club's roasts are known, honoring the Yankee in the 1970s. 'The young members ask why there are so many paintings of naked women with lambs,' Mr. Van Diest said. 'I explain to them this was a men's-only club way back when.' 'Thank goodness for all these young new members, though,' he added. 'There were some really lean years for a while.' From the ninth-floor terrace, Kevin C. Fitzpatrick took in the view of St. Patrick's Cathedral. Mr. Fitzpatrick, 59, is the club's 36th Shepherd, as its presidents are known. 'They're young New Yorkers looking for community,' he said. 'This city can be a lonely place. But I always tell them: 'I'm the Shepherd, not your father. I'm not your dad. You have a dad.'' 'Old and young members enter as strangers and leave as friends,' he continued. 'The old ones ask, 'What's an Instagram reel?' Young ones ask, 'What do you mean you once had bar carts in the office?' They'll tell them, 'Yeah, people even had sex in the office.' They learn it was once a different time.' Downstairs, Oji Miller-Fernandes, an illustrator, was savoring his last moments in the clubhouse with Peter Kingsley, a Shakespearean actor with a mustache. 'I just turned 30,' Mr. Miller-Fernandes said. 'What a coincidence,' Mr. Kingsley said. 'I just turned 80.'
