TTD condemns Hyd based devotee's malicious propaganda over quality of Laddu
Tirupati: The world famous "Tirupati laddu" is once again in the news following a series of accusations levelled by a Hyderabad-based devotee on the quality of the prasadam.
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has condemned the devotee's accusations and clarified that while it was true that the devotee identified as
Naveen Kumar
sustained an injury in his mouth when he tried to savour the sacred prasadam, but it was not because of the poor quality of the laddu.
Naveen Kumar alleged in a video which has gone viral on various social media platforms that he sustained an injury in his mouth after he consumed the laddu prasadam after completing his darshan of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala on June 8.

came to know about the incident and Naveen Kumar was rushed to TTD run Aswini and SVIMS hospitals and various medical tests were carried out and treatment was provided to him.
The medical tests confirmed that Naveen Kumar sustained an injury as he bit his tongue while trying to eat the laddu. Hence it is clear that the injury caused to the devotee was not because of the poor quality of the prasadam", a TTD official clarified.
The TTD authorities said the pilgrim has resorted to a malicious misinformation propaganda over the issue by levelling allegations over the quality of laddu with a sole intention of extorting a compensation from the Tirupati trust. "Since none of his allegations is true and since he has resorted to a false propaganda against the laddu prasadam, which has hurt the sentiments of the devotees worldwide, appropriate legal action will be initiated against Naveen Kumar for trying to mislead the public with his false propaganda", TTD authorities added.

Faridabad fake cardiologist case: Police yet to receive medical records of imposter at heart centre
Four days after a First Information Report (FIR) was lodged in connection with a case of alleged impersonation of a cardiologist in Faridabad, the Haryana Police are yet to receive relevant medical records from the civil hospital where the accused imposter was working at a heart centre. The police on Tuesday registered the FIR against the doctor, identified as Pankaj Mohan Sharma, and five officials associated with the private hospital that had employed him. Sharma, who conducted around 50 heart surgeries over eight months at the hospital, continues to have his phone switched off when contacted. 'We will arrest the main accused imposter soon. The others, we will call them to give their statements and ascertain their role. They obviously had some role to play, even if at the document verification stage, it cannot be otherwise, so they have to answer,' Maqsood Ahmed, Faridabad Deputy Commissioner of Police, New Industrial Township (NIT), told The Indian Express Saturday. The doctor, who allegedly has only an MBBS degree, worked at the heart centre operated by a Kerala-based private hospital for around eight months. The heart centre was operating out of the government-run Badshah Khan Hospital. It was shut down in February this year over compliance issues. DCP Ahmed added that they have asked for all relevant medical and patient records from the hospital and the Chief Medical Officer. 'We have asked for records relating to the surgeries done and deaths, etc. We have not received it yet. As soon as we do, we will begin working on it. We will be questioning the private hospital's management.' The FIR was based on a complaint filed in April by Sanjay Gupta, a city-based advocate. The police have invoked Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections of impersonation, forgery, criminal conspiracy, and causing deaths in the matter. Meanwhile, Faridabad Chief Medical Officer Dr Jayant Ahuja said Saturday that only the private hospital would have the necessary medical or patient records for the case. 'We do not have any such records. The matter is sub judice now, so no further comments.' The managing director and HR head of the Kerala-based hospital have also been named as accused. Several complaints were also raised on the CM's portal. His prescriptions allegedly falsely displayed his credentials as MD and DNB (Cardiology), and he used a stamp identifying himself as a cardiologist, further deceiving patients and hospital management, said officers. The FIR mentioned that Sharma served as the managing director of a film-making company. In his complaint, Gupta pointed out that at least three FIRs had been filed earlier against the heart centre and its staff. 'Want murder, culpable homicide charges added' Gupta told The Indian Express on Saturday that the matter had come to light based on both his investigations as well as the real doctor's complaint. 'The FIR took four months to be lodged. I alerted the authorities by email and through letters, be it the police, the chief secretary, or the Health Department, in the first week of February itself. But there were no proceedings. Recently, I met the DCP (recently) with the evidence. Then the case started rolling,' he said. In the echocardiogram matter, he shared he is also a witness in the case. 'I had gone for a check-up at the time as I was having some trouble. The raid happened in front of me,' he revealed. The record of three deaths is with him, and he suspects that the records of surgeries conducted by the imposter are missing since the number of deaths would have been by now otherwise. 'I have even received information that the Chairman and managing director of the private hospital is planning to flee the country, and have received threats to withdraw the complaint. If the records are discovered, it will be known whether the patients are alive or have died. For now, the full figures are not known officially,' he said. Regarding the offences invoked in the FIR, he said, given the nature of the crime, attempt to murder and culpable homicide (amounting to murder) should also have been invoked. 'I will continue being part of the case and the legal journey to follow to get these charges added. I will stand by the victims and ensure their bail pleas of the accused are vigorously opposed,' Gupta asserted. DCP Ahmed said that though the complaint and certain reports mentioned at least three deaths, they cannot act on it until they have any substantial records. 'So far, we have only got his (accused's) educational documents, which on verification were found to be fake and led to the FIR. Once we get information about the deaths, we will certainly go about adding whatever sections are deemed necessary.'

Meghalaya honeymoon murder: Indore man's ‘rented flat' revelation about Raja Raghuvanshi's ‘killer'
In a fresh twist in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, a property manager in Indore has claimed that accused Vishal Chauhan rented a flat from him just a week after the murder took place in Meghalaya. "Vishal Chauhan met me on May 30 and rented a flat in Dewas Naka for ₹17,000 per month. He signed a contract and also gave a security deposit of ₹34,000. I handed over the keys to him, but I am not sure he or any of his companions came there," Shilom James, a property management firm owner, told PTI. James added that since the building is newly constructed, it lacks CCTV camera surveillance. He also confirmed that he had notified police about the rental soon after learning of Chauhan's involvement in the case. The murder case, which has gripped national attention, began unfolding after Indore-based businessman Raja Raghuvanshi went missing on May 23 while he was on his honeymoon in Meghalaya's East Khasi Hills. Raja's body was found in a deep gorge near a waterfall in the Sohra area (also known as Cherrapunji) of the East Khasi Hills district on June 2. His wife, Sonam, whom he had married on May 11, earlier confessed to the murder and is now a prime suspect, along with four alleged accomplices: Raj Kushwaha (her alleged boyfriend), Vishal Chauhan, Anand Kurmi, and Akash Rajput. On Wednesday, the court remanded all five key accused, including Sonam Raghuvanshi, to eight days of police custody in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, said police. According to Meghalaya police, the conspiracy to eliminate Raja Raghuvanshi was hatched in Indore, shortly before his wedding with Sonam on May 11, and the mastermind is Raj Kushwaha, while the woman had agreed to the plot. Meanwhile, Govind, the brother of Sonam Raghuvanshi (one of the main accused and Raja's wife), has stated that the chain of events "confirms" Sonam's involvement in the case.

'Thought it was an earthquake': Eyewitnesses recount horrific Ahmedabad plane crash; say sky was filled with black smoke
NEW DELHI: Mohan Bahadur Kshatriya, an eyewitness to the Air India crash in Ahmedabad, recounted scenes of devastation and chaos on Saturday as he joined rescue efforts just minutes after the aircraft went down on Thursday. Living just 500 meters from the crash site, Kshatriya said he initially mistook the deafening explosion for an earthquake. 'I heard a loud bang and thought it was a storm or an earthquake,' he said. 'When I stepped out, there was smoke and fire everywhere. People were shouting that a plane had crashed. We ran toward the mess where students were screaming for help.' He worked alongside Army personnel to rescue five severely injured students from the wreckage. He added, 'They were in extremely serious condition. Then we searched further and found a body in terrible shape, trapped under the debris,' he added. Another eyewitness, Rekha Kshatriya, described the moment the aircraft hit as unlike anything they had ever experienced before, even in a neighborhood accustomed to loud noise. The Committee will examine the existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines issued to prevent and handle such occurrences and suggest comprehensive guidelines for dealing with such instances in the future," the ministry said in an official statement. It clarified that the new panel will not replace other formal inquiries but will focus on formulating improved protocols to prevent similar disasters in the future.
