Why was Coronation Street star Jack P. Shepherd attacked in Asda?

Coronation Street star Jack P. Shepherd was "really beat" by an elderly woman in a supermarket when he was just 12 years old. The 37-year-old actor - who has played David Platt in the ITV soap since 2000 - recalled going shopping with his mum Janet when they were accosted by an "old" lady, who was unimpressed by his soap alter ego, prompting his parent to intervene when she lashed out. Jack told his Coronation Street co-star Ben Price, 54, and his former soap colleague Colson Smith, 27, on the latest episode of their On the Sofa podcast: "I was recognised by an old woman in the freezer section. I was with my mum doing the big shop. "And [the woman] started to hit me with a handbag. "Before saying anything. She was so furious to see me. "I was just cheeky. So I'd have been 12. "[The woman] full on really beat me with a bag. "My mum went up [to the woman]. I think my mum kind of like half laughed it off and went, 'It's not real.'" Elsewhere in the podcast, Jack remembered he once faked being a Co-Op worker so police could stop die-hard Coronation Street fans from mobbing him. The soap star switched on the Christmas Lights in the West Yorkshire town of Kippax, and thousands of people turned up to see him kick off the festive celebrations Once the lights had been switched on, Jack recalled a "siege" of people rushing towards him, and he had to seek refuge in a nearby Co-Op supermarket. He said: "There was a sea of people [that] turned up to see a young David Platt. I must have been about 13, 14, something like that. Really young. "And I turned on their Christmas lights, and there was a siege. "They all started to head towards [me] and tried to climb on the stage. "They tried to get on, and I had to be escorted into the Co-Op. "[The Co-Op staff] had to lock the doors of the Co-Op. All the Co-Op workers were in there, and we couldn't get out because they surrounded the building. "I couldn't get out and go through the crowds because there were too many [fans]." Worried that Jack's safety was at risk, police escorted him out of Kippax. He dressed up as a Co-Op worker and hid his face to avoid being seen by a rush of fans, but his disguise did not work. Jack revealed: "Honestly, [there were] too many [fans]. We had to then get a police escort out of Kippax. "The police were called because I was a small child. "And police escorts had to arrive on motorbikes, and they had to put blue lights on, blue light me out. "I had the hat and I had the t-shirt. "I was going out, I was going out through the crowds, keeping my head down [as a] Co-Op worker. And I got into the car. "And I handed the hat back to one of the Co-Op workers. "And then [all the fans] turned like zombies. And they all went, 'He's there!' And they all ran towards me. "And I dived in the car. And the police had to blue light me out [of Kippax]. "And I remember physically watching the police on the bikes, and they were kicking people back. They were literally kicking people back."

Could the Next James Bond Be a Redhead? Actor Scott Rose-Marsh Reportedly Auditioned For 007 Role — GeekTyrant

As James Bond fans eagerly await official news on Denis Villeneuve's upcoming 007 film, a new casting rumor has surfaced and it's not what fans might be expecting. According to a recent report, one actor might have already stepped into the iconic spy's shoes for an audition… and he's a redhead. The Dune director is set to helm the next James Bond movie for Amazon MGM Studios after wrapping up Dune: Part Three . This marks a new chapter for the franchise, as Amazon now has full creative control following a major joint venture deal with longtime Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli. So far, no actor has officially been cast and the release date remains under wraps. What we do know is that Steven Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders , is writting the script for what's being called Bond 26 . Now, The Hollywood Reporter claims that Scott Rose-Marsh, a 37-year-old actor with fiery red hair, was quietly brought in for a screen test in late June. Their insider source revealed that he was asked to read lines from GoldenEye , likely for Villeneuve, who had just joined the project. 'He might also have tackled pages from the script Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight is said to be whipping up for Bond 26 . Whatever the material, [The Hollywood Reporter's Rambling Reporter's] source claims Rose-Marsh was given just one piece of direction before the test cameras rolled: Don't impersonate a previous Bond. 'If Rose-Marsh did indeed test, it torpedoes one widely held theory swirling around the film — that Amazon, which purchased the 007 franchise for a reported $1 billion this year, is looking to reboot with a 20-something Bond to lure younger audiences.' Neither Amazon MGM Studios nor Rose-Marsh have responded to requests for comment, so for now, this info should be taken with a grain of salt. Still, it's a juicy development for fans tracking every hint about who will carry the Bond legacy forward. Scott Rose-Marsh may not be a household name, but he's racked up some solid screen credits. His film work includes Code of Silence (2021) and Wolves of War (2022), and he's popped up on shows like The Outlaws , Chloe , and Yr Amgueddfa . If this rumor holds any truth, it could mean the Bond franchise is ready to shake up tradition with an interesting casting choice. A redheaded Bond? That's something we haven't seen before.

'One of her best yet': Michelle Keegan leads gripping 'edge of your seat' thriller from Fool Me Once producers

We have been loving watching Michelle Keegan embrace the thriller side of her career, first as the lead in Harlan Coben's Fool Me Once, where she played a woman reeling from the death of her husband only to find him alive on a nanny cam. And now she's stepping into another thriller series, and this time - she's playing the detective. Keegan, is set to star alongside Douglas Booth in ITV's The Blame, a drama series that promises to be an "edge of your seat" thriller, as Keegan and Booth's police characters are called in to investigate the murder of a young girl. With ITV's head of drama Polly Hill, saying of the new series: 'The Blame is a brilliant new crime thriller full of surprising twists and a compelling investigation that also cleverly tackles police corruption, exploitation and misogyny as the thriller unravels. Megan is such a wonderful and clever writer, and with Michelle Keegan in the lead and Nicola Shindler at the helm, this is going to be an unmissable drama and one I'm very proud to have on ITV.' The series was just announced and already we can't wait for it to drop and so if you're just as curious as us, here's what to know about it. The Blame is a six-part ITV series, based on the novel of the same name by Charlotte Langley that will see Michelle Keegan star as DI Crane, who alongside her colleague DI Radley (Booth), will investigate the death of a young figure skater, Sophie Madsen, whose body is discovered and sends shock waves through the community. As they delve deeper into the mystery Crane discovers a web of lies and a deep level of corruption within her own team. The series is produced by Nicola Shindler and Richard Fee (who worked with Michelle on Fool Me Once), at for Quay Street Productions, who said, 'We are so delighted to be working with Megan [Gallagher, the series writer] again, she is an exceptional writer who has written a compelling series taking viewers on a twisty journey to discover what really happened through the lens of a contemporary police station brimming with secrets, corruption, and betrayal. "We are also thrilled at the brilliant cast led by Michelle and Douglas, who will keep viewers on the edge of their seats, wondering who to trust at a time when the themes explored in The Blame are more relevant than ever.' Leading the series will be Michelle Keegan as DI Emma Crane. Michelle is of course best known for her roles in Fool Me Once, Our Girl, Ten Pound Poms and Brassic. She'll be starring alongside Douglas Booth who is playing DI Tom Radley. Over the years Douglas has had prominent roles in projects such as LOL, Romeo and Juliet, Great Expectations and The Sandman. Also joining the cast are: Unfortunately as the series has only just been announced and filming is beginning this summer in and around London, we could have quite a while to wait for the series to drop on ITV.
