Ukrainian spy colonel gunned down in Kyiv
Kyiv's police force said it was working to identify the shooter and that "measures are being taken to detain him". The slain agent was a colonel in the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), an official told Reuters.
The SBU, a sprawling domestic spy agency which has a staff of thousands, said it had opened a criminal investigation into the murder of one of its employees in Kyiv's southern Holosiivskyi district. They did not identify him.
The agency's main remit covers security and counterintelligence, but since Russia's 2022 invasion it has also played a prominent role in special operations against Moscow, including assassinations and sabotage attacks far behind the front line.
Neither the SBU nor the police gave possible motives for the killing.
"The Security Service and the National Police are taking a comprehensive set of measures to clarify all the circumstances of the crime and bring the perpetrators to justice," the SBU said in a statement.
CCTV footage circulated on Ukrainian social media showed a man in jeans leaving a residential building and walking to a car park where he was approached by another man, who appeared to fire at him repeatedly before running away.
Reuters was able to confirm the location of the video of the purported killing as Kyiv using the guard box, buildings and parking lot layout, which match file and satellite imagery of the area.
The date when the video was recorded was verified using the timestamp on the footage and Reuters reporting of the incident.

Russia, Iran and China intensifying life-threatening operations in UK, police say
LONDON - Russia, Iran and China are behind a growing number of life-threatening operations in Britain including attacks and kidnappings, often deploying criminals and sometimes children as proxies, two senior British police officers said on Tuesday. The British authorities in recent years have repeatedly voiced concern at what they said was malign activity by the three states in Britain, ranging from traditional espionage and actions to undermine the state, to sabotage and assassinations. Those accusations have been rejected by Moscow, Beijing and Tehran, which say they are politically motivated. On Tuesday, the two British officers said told reporters there had been a fivefold increase in hostile state activity since the Novichok nerve agent poisoning of Russian double agent Sergei Skripal in Salisbury in 2017, which London says was carried out by Russian spies. Dominic Murphy, who heads up London's Counter Terrorism Command, said the breadth, complexity and volume of hostile operations from Russia, Iran and China had grown at a rate neither they nor their international partners nor any intelligence community had predicted. "We are increasingly seeing these three states ... undertaking threat-to-life operations in the United Kingdom," he told reporters. In most instances, proxies, usually criminals acting quite often for small amounts of cash, were carrying out the states' work for them, said Vicki Evans, the Senior National Coordinator for UK Counter Terrorism Policing. "We are concerned that they might find themselves in an online environment where they're encouraged or egged on to do something and don't understand what they're being asked to do," said Evans, adding they were less concerned that the children were ideologically motivated. Earlier this month, three men were convicted over an arson attack on Ukraine-linked businesses in London, which police said had been ordered by Russia's Wagner mercenary group. Their ringleader had earlier admitted plotting to kidnap a critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Last year, the head of Britain's domestic spy agency MI5 said that, since January 2022, there had been 20 Iran-backed plots to kidnap or kill British nationals or individuals based in Britain who Tehran regarded as a threat. "We know that they are continuing to try and sow violence on the streets of the United Kingdom, they too are to some extent relying on criminal proxies to do that," Murphy said of Iran. REUTERS

Azealia Banks: Conor McGregor's X-Rated Photo Leaked by Rapper on X After He Tried to Slide into Her DMs
Azealia Banks has posted explicit images of what she claims are unsolicited nude photos sent to her by Conor McGregor. The rapper shared screenshots of X (formerly Twitter) direct messages allegedly sent by the former UFC champion. McGregor allegedly sent the rapper two X-rated photos; one of himself appearing to lift weights with his genitals, captioned "Lifting weights" and anoter accompanied by a threatening message: "Don't be a rat cos all rats get caught." In the tweets, Banks accused McGregor of sending her "crooked dick pics" and attempting to threaten her into silence. "How you gonna send a b---h some crooked dick pics then threaten her not to tell. @TheNotoriousMMA nig** do you know who the f**k I am? This is HARAM," she wrote, attaching two full-frontal mirror selfies of McGregor. In a follow-up post, she added: "Like how are you really going to sexually harass me with the potato farmer d--k then threaten me not to tell???? Honey...... ain't u trying to be the president of Ireland what is it giving fam? Use some f***ing sunscreen damn." The leak sparked some swift and scating responses on X. One user wrote, "Report Conor to the Police as he's breaking The Online Safety Act 2023 which carries a fine and or prison, as well as placed on the register." Another quipped, "Conor McGregor's falloff has been generational." Others mocked the situation more bluntly. One posted: "Wasn't expecting to see Conor McGregor d--k pics on this fine Monday morning." Another person commented: "Why is he lifting weights with his d--k, wtf is going on??" The incident comes just days after McGregor was photographed kissing a bikini-clad woman on a Florida beach - a woman who was not his long-term fiancée Dee Devlin. As reported by The Sun, the Irish MMA fighter was seen cosying up to the unidentified brunette in Fort Lauderdale, laying out towels, placing his hand on her leg, and relaxing with her for several hours. The couple reportedly jetted in via watercraft and were unfazed by surrounding beachgoers. The 36-year-old has been engaged to Devlin since 2020, and the couple share four children together. Despite previous public displays of affection and a shared family life on social media, McGregor has faced multiple allegations and controversies over the years, including a civil trial in 2023 where he was found liable for assaulting a woman and ordered to pay over £200,000 in damages. McGregor has not publicly responded to Banks' allegations or the leak at the time of writing.
