Meek Mill Tells Parents To Block DJ Akademiks After Grooming Incident Goes Viral

Yahoo27-01-2025

Meek Mill, like many, was disturbed by DJ Akademiks' behavior this weekend, as he was accused of grooming after engaging in a sexual conversation online with a 15-year-old boy. The Philadelphia rapper has since issued a warning to parents regarding the popular streamer, advising they block him on their kids' phones and computers for safety reasons.
'If [you're] a parent go get ya kids phone and block this man, he's grooming children with a very large platform that 'kids' like,' Meek, 37, tweeted after a clip of the inappropriate conversation went viral. 'Also attempts to ruin black families and black success daily, 'VILLAN IN THE VILLAGE.'' His words captioned a screenshot of him preparing to block Ak on his own phone. See the post below.
Meek and Ak's tension date back to 2017 when, according to Akademiks, Meek took issue with him not promoting Meek's Wins & Losses album on his platform. 'Meek, he didn't appreciate I didn't post his album,' he explained on a 2017 episode of Everyday Struggle. 'However, it was really confusing to me 'cause about six months ago, Meek had sent me a DM. Him and the rest of the 'Chasers, they gave me a little digital jump and a light one. They said, 'Listen, either post us this way or don't post us at all.''
Ak went on to say that Meek and his Chasers crew later threatened him, resulting in him refusing to post Meek at all. 'Next thing I'm seeing, they were threatening me,' Ak said at the time. ''When I see him, I'ma gonna give him a wedgie, I'ma slap him.' I'm like, 'Oh shit! I think I'm posting them wrong.' So, I stopped posting them.'
Meek later attempted to get Ak cancelled in June of 2020, tweeting that the streamer is responsible for gassing up beefs that resulted in a loss of life.
'Akademiks canceled because he's a bad police and our culture don't need them… he also gassed a lot of beef that got people killed and hurt and never donated a dollar to the culture! We gon holla at you next run champ lol.'
Six months later, Meek and Ak went head-to-head on the Clubhouse app, exchanging harsh words until 21 Savage began to mediate the out-of-control conversation. The pair have continued to go back-and-forth since, with no sign of resolution in sight.
Akademiks' most recent incident found the streamer making inappropriate remarks to a 15-year-old boy during a session on fellow streamer PlaqueBoyMax's channel, including asking about his sex life and offering to perform a sexual act on the minor. Ak — who was previously accused of rape — was immediately faced with accusations of grooming, later admitting to his crass behavior.
'I've done a lot of bulls**t up in this game,' he said. 'Trust me. I've got mine off. This issue aside – which, again. I am wrong. I will be better. This is a teachable moment. For me, obviously, I got to watch my speech. That's clear. […] Definitely a regrettable moment, and we're going to use it as a teachable moment. Because I don't think I've came this far, built this platform, to be that irresponsible, right?'

Little Rock man with dishonorable discharge gets 12-year federal sentence for gun possession

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A Little Rock man received a 12-year sentence in federal prison on Friday. Officials with the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas said 26-year-old James Charles Hart of Wynne received the sentence as the result of a Dec. 7, 2023 complaint. He was indicted in January 2023 for being a dishonorably discharged person in possession of a firearm and possession of an unregistered firearm. Little Rock man gets 20 years in federal prison for drugs, guns Hart pleaded guilty on Jan. 6 to the first charge, possession of a firearm by a dishonorably discharged person. In addition to the 12-year sentence, the judge sentenced Hart to three years of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system. Officials said Hart was dishonorably discharged from the Navy in August of 2021 after being convicted in a court martial of advocating supremacist and extremist doctrine, ideology and causes, larceny of military property, and selling firearms without a license. The court martial found that his conduct included advocating for killing military members and encouraging others to take up the cause and recruit others. During the court-martial, Hart told the presiding judge that he was not kidding when he made those statements. Former Monroe County district judge sentenced to federal prison for obstruction Hart was told that as someone with a dishonorable discharge, he was not allowed to own guns. In April 2023, however, FBI investigators found that Hart entered a home's driveway dressed in a tactical vest and carrying an AR-style rifle. He told the homeowners he was patrolling the neighborhood for looters and they told him to leave, officials said. The FBI arrested Hart in December 2023. During subsequent search warrants of his house and car, investigators said they found 'numerous' handguns, shotguns, AR and AK-patterned rifles, and 'NFA weapons,' a class of weapons including machine guns and sawed-off shotguns. They also reported finding thousands of rounds of ammunition, ammunition magazines, ballistic helmets, body armor, gas masks, and tactical gear. 5 Rockford residents under suspicion after AK-47, other weapons found in Freeport rental house

FREEPORT, Ill. (WTVO) — Freeport Police found an AK-47 and multiple other firearms after a disturbance at a rental property, and charges are pending against five people from Rockford. Officials said officers were called to a home in the 1800 block of Indian Springs Court around 10:51 p.m. after guests in the basement area of the home were violating terms of the rental agreement. Officers said a loaded pistol with an extended magazine was in plain view on a living room table when they moved in to clear the individuals gathered within. Once police saw the gun, they detained five individuals, who were identified as residents of Rockford. The owner of the property gave police permission to search the space, and police said they found AK-47 rifle and seven semi-automatics equipped with high capacity magazines, three of which were outfitted with illegal 'switch' devices to make the guns fully automatic. Police sent the weapons to the Illinois State Police Division of Forensic Services, and said charges were pending the result of those findings. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. 4 cartel suspects killed days after 5 officers murdered in ambush

Police in the southern Mexican state of Chiapas and federal forces killed four suspected criminals on Sunday during a chase in an area bordering Guatemala, the local government said. The incident unfolded just days after five police officers were killed in an ambush by an armed group in the same area. A statement from the local Security Secretariat said the events occurred in the municipality of Frontera Comalapa after security forces were attacked while on a routine patrol. "Authorities repelled the fire... and managed to kill four suspected members of organized crime," the statement said. Local media reported that the security forces may have entered Guatemalan territory during the pursuit. Guatemalan Vice President Karin Herrera wrote on social media that "the border is under control" and that the army and police maintain "an active presence in the area to guarantee the protection and security of the population." The Chiapas Security Secretariat insisted that the operation took place within Mexico. A source from the agency, who asked not to be identified, told AFP the dead were members of the powerful Jalisco New Generation Cartel. The Chiapas Security Secretariat said it seized four trucks, three AK-47 long guns and other weapons after the incident. The agency released images of trucks at the scene and some appeared to be riddled with bullet holes. In recent months, Chiapas has been shaken by a bloody turf war between the Sinaloa Cartel and the Jalisco New Generation cartel — the country's two most powerful criminal organizations. Last week, five Chiapas state police officers patrolling the area were killed after they were ambushed by an armed group in Frontera Comalapa, according to the local Security Secretariat. Authorities shared an image of the slain officers' charred patrol vehicle after it was completely engulfed in flames on a roadway. Later, the agency announced on social media they had arrested a man in connection to the murders. Criminal violence, most of it linked to drug trafficking, has claimed around 480,000 lives in Mexico since 2006 and left more than 120,000 people missing.
