Britain's Got Talent's Ping Pong Pang insist they don't have 'unfair advantage'

Yahoo2 days ago

Ping Pong Pang's Patrizio and Rachele Ratto insist they don't have an advantage on Britain's Got Talent. The fusion dance troupe from Italy previously got to the final of the Italian version of the talent show and now are competing in BGT's final on Saturday.
Patrizio tells Yahoo UK: "Yes, of course, the talent shows [Britain's Got Talent and Italy's version] are really similar to each other. But I don't think we have an advantage because if you perform abroad, if you do this talent show abroad, there are a lot of more elements that [are challenging].
"It was really hard for us because we are not in Italy, and maybe in Italy we are more comfortable with ourselves. When you do this abroad, it's really more complicated and the emotions are really different.
"For us, every performance that we do, it's unique and so it's like the first time that we perform in front of an audience. We don't have an advantage [above any of the other finalists competing]."

The siblings — who lead the group that has about 15 core members — explain why they wanted to feature on Britain's Got Talent after competing on the Italian version of the talent show.
Patrizio says: "Because we really want to show our talent and our unique performance, not just in Italy but also abroad, so it's a big opportunity for us to show that in this really famous talent show in the UK to a big audience like this."
Performing on Britain's Got Talent offered the dance group a bigger stage, Patrizio says, as they are from "a small place in Italy".
Their performance is a fusion of ping pong and dance but some viewers at home have been compared to Britain's Got Talent's winning 2009 dance troupe Diversity. Although Rachele says they are a "unique" group, Patrizio points out this comparison is a "compliment".
"I don't know why, but they compared to other contestants like this, I think we are different," he says. "In terms of what of the dance and what we do but maybe people have a reference point and compare us to this crew and for us of course it's a big compliment because people love [Diversity as they won Britain's Got Talent], so for us it's a huge compliment."
Rachele adds: "We try to be unique."
Patrizio shares how their act will stand out in the final but admits there will be some big challenges along the way. "We will bring something new," he says. "Because we are the first crew that meets together in ping pong and dance, so we are really proud of this fusion, and we will do our best to do this on the final, and our choreography is extremely difficult. Every move needs to be precise."
Sister Rachele explains the importance of being creative in coming up with choreography. She says: "We also need to to find the crazy ideas to impress the audience again. Me and my brother, we stay together to do brainstorming or something like that, but we are happy, we are really happy to do that for the final."
Despite their hard work and graft, Rachele admits they didn't expect to be in the final of Britain's Got Talent. She says: "For us, it's really a dream so now, we think only about this [being in the final]. Our life is only this now. It's a really nice feeling. Also the other members of the crew, most of them are younger than us, they are really grateful and really happy; they can't believe it."
Britain's Got Talent's final airs at 7pm on Saturday, 31 May on ITV1.

Inside Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos' Wedding: New Details on Dress Designer, Location, ‘Multi-Day Affair'

When Lauren Sánchez marries billionaire Jeff Bezos next month in a lavish destination wedding in Italy, she will be wearing custom Dolce & Gabbana couture looks made to match every event during the star-studded, multi-day celebration, a source tells Us Weekly exclusively. "It will be a big wedding," the source said, and "a very Italian wedding." The exclusive details may also recall Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker's May 2022 nuptials in Italy, where the bride, groom, and entire wedding party were outfitted in the Italian fashion label. Of course, Sánchez and the Amazon founder's forthcoming, high-profile celebration have already caught the public's attention. Sánchez's older brother, Paul, previously described it to TMZ as an event that could rival Princess Diana's iconic 'wedding of the century' in both scale and magnificence. Rumored wedding attendees include celebrities Katy Perry, Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner and Eva Longoria, who were all seen at Sánchez's recent bachelorette weekend festivities in Paris. Lauren Sanchez Does Billionaire Bloomcore in Expensive Ab-Baring Look for Bachelorette Weekend in Paris Sánchez, 55, is already a Dolce & Gabbana devotee, having chosen the designer for significant, sentimental events, whether by 61-year-old Bezos' side on his birthday in a sheer black confection or sitting front row in ethereal white lace at the Dolce & Gabbana Alta Sartoria show in Italy to cheer on her son, Nikko, when he walked the designer's runway in July 2024. Before Nikko's turn on the catwalk, Sánchez was photographed arriving at Italy's Cagliari Airport in head-to-toe Dolce & Gabbana. Walking next to Bezos, she looked every inch the 'proud mom,' as she put it on Instagram, in a lemon-yellow dress reminiscent of the Italian Riviera. The philanthropist and Emmy Award-winning journalist consistently gravitates towards designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana for milestone occasions, which makes them a natural fit for her wedding couturiers. The news that Sánchez will be a Dolce & Gabbana bride is the latest thread weaving together a beautiful narrative between home, family and high fashion. Sánchez's wedding wardrobe will mirror the picturesque setting, whether it's a corseted gown that commands all eyes at the altar or a boudoir-inspired LBD at the reception. Molto bella, indeed!

Manchester City see €60 million opening bid rejected for primary summer transfer target

Officials at Manchester City have seen their opening bid made to AC Milan for Tijjani Reijnders rejected, it has been widely reported. The 26-year-old central midfielder is widely believed to be Manchester City's primary target for the 'No.8' position in the middle of the park, as part of a wide-ranging refresh of their playing squad before the new season. Advertisement With work also expected to be done in defence and further forward in the central roles, there is an ambition within the club to complete large elements of their business before this summer's FIFA Club World Cup. Speaking during a new interview with the club's official website, chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said of summer recruitment plans, 'We've clearly identified who exactly are the targets, in what positions, and we have our clear number one, our clear number two option. 'We'll go about our business, it will be very clear, very swift. Our objective is to be ready with the new squad for the Club World Cup,' he added. Advertisement And it appears as though that direction is continuing with an opening proposal made for one of their primary targets in the last 24 hours, as plans step up to get Manchester City back competing at the very highest level of the European game. That is according to the information of market insider Fabrizio Romano, who reveals that Manchester City's opening bid for midfielder Tijjani Reijnders was received by AC Milan in recent hours with the proposal worth around €60 million including add-ons. It is stressed that the Italian giants certainly want more to let the midfielder leave for the Etihad Stadium this summer, and despite the opening proposal being rejected, negotiations are said to be advancing. Additional reporting from Calciomercato's Daniele Longo revealed that City's opening bid was made up of a €55 million transfer fee, plus a further €5 million in potential add-ons. This is a developing story. More to follow.
