Brazil Star Admits Inter Milan 'Didn't Take Advantage Of Our Chances' In Serie A Title Race Vs Napoli
Carlos Augusto admits that Inter Milan 'didn't take our chances' in the Serie A title race against Napoli this season.
The Brazilian spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, after the Nerazzurri's 2-0 win over Como.

Inter Milan have not managed to successfully defend their Serie A title crown.
The Nerazzurri took it down to the last day of the season. They were just a point behind Napoli going into today's matches.
And Inter did their bit. They got a convincing win away to Como to close out the league season.
However, the Nerazzurri were also relying on Cagliari to do them a favour against Napoli. And that did not happen.
So Inter will be left with the feeling of regret after the long season.
The Nerazzurri have certainly had their positive moments. Particularly when they looked to have taken control of the Serie A title race in the spring.

But then, back-to-back losses to Bologna and Roma proved to be a hammer blow to Inter's title ambitions.
Furthermore, Inter have dropped too many points cheaply throughout the campaign. 2-2 draws against the likes of Genoa, Parma, and Lazio, and a failure to beat AC Milan were among the decisive results for the Nerazzurri.

After today's match against Como, Inter defender Carlos Augusto reflected that 'It was a long season.'
The Brazilian admitted that 'we had some chances, that we weren't able to take advantage of.'

'But it was still a great season,' Augusto insisted.
'Now we have a final that's everyone's dream. We're going there to play a great match.'
'We've had a great Champions League season,' Augusto continued. 'It's not because we didn't win the league we're going all-in on Europe.'
'We didn't take advantage of our chances. Those important points are the ones we're missing in the end.'
'Now we focus on Europe,' Carlos Augusto added. 'It's a big week for us.'

Sinner, who has yet to drop a set at Roland Garros this year, looked to continue steamrolling the competition against Alexander Bubik. Later in the day, decorated veteran Djokovic took on 28-year-old Alexander Zverev of Germany for his spot in the semis. Advertisement It took an entertaining three sets for Sinner to overcome Bubik. The 23-year-old got off to a good start and quickly established an early 4-0 lead. He would take the first set with ease, 6-1. The second set began with the two competitors in a 1-1 deadlock. After scoring a consolation point in the first, Bubik put up an early fight with a 2-1 lead. Bubik, 27, led the cat-and-mouse game between them throughout the second, edging away whenever Sinner tied the score. After dropping the first set, seemingly to study his opponent, Djokovic picked Zverev apart to finish the match in four frames. The 38-year-old kept up with Zverev, who is 10 years his junior, in the first set of their matchup, repeatedly tying the score before the German ace pulled away and established a 3-5 lead. Although Djokovic closed the gap once more, Zverev took the set, 6-4. Advertisement Unshaken, Djokovic showed his mettle with an impressive second set to even the match. The Serbian star had his younger competitor chasing all set, going 3-1, 4-2 before closing the set, 6-3. The third set was nearly identical, with the 24-time Grand Slam champion edging Zverev 6-2. Much like the opening set, the fourth was a back-and-forth showing with Zverev attempting to claw his way out of the deficit. However, Djokovic flipped the results, besting Zverev 6-4 to seal the win. His victory set Djokovic up for a semifinal match with Sinner on Friday. No. 2 seed Carlos Alcaraz and No. 8 seed Lorenzo Musetti will compete on the other side of the bracket to face the winner in the championship match on Sunday.
