What's Known About Loni Anderson's Cause of Death
Television fans will remember Loni Anderson for her iconic role on the series WKRP in Cincinnati. She played Jennifer Marlowe, the radio station's receptionist. Her marriages also drew attention throughout the years. Anderson's cause of death is on many fans' minds now that she has died on Aug. 3 at the age of 79. Hollywood has lost a string of beloved stars in recent weeks, including rocker Ozzy Osbourne and actor Michael Madsen. What is known about Loni Anderson's cause of death What is known about her cause of death? How did Anderson die? According to the Associated Press, although her formal cause of death was not released, Anderson had been ill for some time. Anderson "died at a Los Angeles hospital following a 'prolonged' illness," her longtime publicist, Cheryl J. Kagan, told the AP. She was just days from her 80th birthday. The Hollywood Reporter called the illness "acute" and "prolonged" and reported that Anderson "died at noon in Los Angeles." According to THR, the family has requested that contributions be made in her memory to the National Lung Health Education Program and/or the American Cancer Society. Kagan told Daily Beast: 'While facing her diagnosis with determination she continued working." Anderson was a caregiver to her parents, both of whom were diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), according to Future of Personal Health. 'I would have thought they would have thrown those cigarettes away immediately because you don't want to have those coughing fits,' she once said, according to that site. 'And my mom would say, 'I can't breathe, I can't breathe,' and my dad said, 'I feel like I'm drowning.' And I would think to myself, 'And yet, you want another cigarette.' And that was really shocking to me.' As a result of those deaths, Anderson "has traveled all over the country spreading the word about how to stop this illness," the site reports. Anderson's family statement did not make a more detailed reference to her illness. 'We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our dear wife, mother and grandmother,' Anderson's family said in a statement obtained by the AP. It was her role on WKRP in Cincinnati that is her most iconic. That series ran from 1978 to 1982. Anderson's character was known for her sex appeal. Loni Anderson was married to Burt Reynolds & three other men There was a great deal of hype around Anderson's five-year marriage to actor Burt Reynolds, with whom she adopted a son named Quinton, and their subsequent divorce in the 1990s. Anderson led a quieter life in her later years. Her final husband was named Bob Flick. In 1964, the Minnesota-born Anderson married Bruce Hasselberg and had a daughter Deidra with him, before the marriage, her first, ended in divorce, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Before Reynolds, she was married to actor Ross Bickell from 1974 to 1981, People reported. Her marriage to Reynolds broke down in tabloid headlines. 'I'm very happy that we were able to sell papers for a year and a half,' Reynolds told reporters in 1994, according to THR. 'Why that doesn't translate into money, I don't know. … I'm glad America is curious about us.' Accusations flew back and forth as the divorce grew ugly. Anderson married Flick, a musician, in 2008, People reported. However, according to People, they had actually met in 1963, when she posed for a photo with Flick, a folk singer who had a song that hit number 2 on the charts. Anderson is also survived by her daughter Deidra Hoffman. She was open about Hoffman's multiple sclerosis diagnosis later in life. In addition to Quinton Anderson Reynolds, Hoffman and Flick, Anderson is survived by her "grandchildren Megan and McKenzie; stepson Adam; and step-grandchildren Felix and Maximilian," THR Known About Loni Anderson's Cause of Death first appeared on Men's Journal on Aug 3, 2025

Brooke Hogan asked out of Hulk Hogan's will over family fears: ‘I don't know how deep this stuff goes'
Brooke Hogan has opened up about why she removed herself from Hulk Hogan's will in 2023. 'I was now pregnant with twins and married, and my husband's family is so kind and so sweet. And I have something to lose, money didn't matter,' the daughter of the WWE icon said Tuesday on former Hulk friend Bubba the Love Sponge's show. 'I was sobbing, and I just said, 'Take me off everything, I don't want to be a part of it.'' Hulk, whose real name was Terry Bollea, died at the age of 71 on July 24 after a cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Fla. Brooke, 37, said she took herself off the will to avoid potential conflicts with other family members, including her mother, Linda Hogan, and Hulk's third wife, Sky Daily. Brooke expressed concern because Linda 'has been known to kind of find herself in the mix with things like that,' and because she had heard that Daily was a Scientologist, and knew the organization had 'powerful backing.' MediaPunch/Shutterstock 'I'm like, 'I don't want to fight Linda, I don't want to find Scientology, I don't want somebody that I love to get knocked off, I don't know how deep this stuff goes,'' Brooke said. 'It scared me, and I just said, 'I want out.'' She did qualify that remark by saying she had 'no problem' with Daily, who she said was always nice to her. She then added that she hopes her father would have trusted her with his intellectual property and trademarks, because she 'would have done the right thing.' Brooke Hogan and Hulk Hogan on Dec. 2, 2006. REUTERS 'I would have made him an Elvis legacy, or a Marilyn Monroe legacy, or a Selena [Quintanilla-Perez] legacy,' she said. 'And I hope that whoever has his marks does that. I just know that the people around him are pretty shady and not in his best interest.' Brooke was not in attendance at Hogan's 2023 wedding with Daily, and TMZ reported that Brooke and Hulk had their last conversation two weeks before the wedding. In an Instagram post last week, Brooke honored her father in a post that said: 'You were my everything and I will always be your daughter – for all the love, light and goodness you brought into this world.'

Michael Madsen Applauded Quentin Tarantino for Firing Lawrence Tierney
Quentin Tarantino paid homage Friday to the late actor Michael Madsen -- remembering the time Michael applauded him for firing Lawrence Tierney from "Reservoir Dogs"! The famed director took center stage at a private memorial he hosted at L.A.'s Vista Theatre ... where he regaled the crowd with stories about his ol' pal Michael, who appeared in several of his movies, including "Reservoir Dogs" and "Kill Bill." But it was Tarantino's story about the former film that really exemplified just who he was as a person. Check out our clip ... QT is all smiles as he fondly remembers "crazy man" Lawrence wreaking havoc on the set of 'Dogs' -- and being so arrogant he decided to can him. Later that night, after an exhausting week of filming with Lawrence -- who died in 2002 -- Quentin said Michael called to say how much he respected the first-time director for taking a stance against his costar. As you know, Quentin and Michael worked on several projects together, including "Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood," "The Hateful Eight," "Sin City" and more. After the memorial, Tarantino and a bunch other big name celebs left together and were snapped by paparazzi as they walked out of place. Among the stars who attended were Sean Penn and Daryl Hannah. While Quentin was upbeat in spirit as he remembered his collaborator and friend, we're told by an attendee the memorial was emotionally charged ... with plenty of tears shed. There was also a showcase of various memorabilia items of Michael's from over the years, such as action figures, a handwritten note, and his photography book, "Signs of Life." We broke the news -- Michael was found unresponsive in his Malibu home in early July by his assistant and longtime friend. We were told he had just gotten the all-clear from doctors after undergoing a PET scan just days prior. Michael died from cardiac arrest. He was 67. Solve the daily Crossword
