
Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.85% in an upbeat market
Ashok Leyland Ltd.(up 2.22 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 1.99 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 1.87 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 1.39 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(up 1.33 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Tube Investments of India Ltd.(down 0.71 per cent) and MRF Ltd.(down 0.52 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was up 0.85 per cent at 23503.4 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 112.1 points at 24863.0, while the BSE Sensex was up 311.48 points at 81753.52.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Reliance Power, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy and HFCL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Suzlon Energy up 6% on winning 381 MW order from Zelestra India
Suzlon Energy shares jumped 6.3 per cent on Friday, logging an intra-day high at ₹65.5 per share on BSE. At 11:01 AM, Suzlon Energy shares were trading 5.5 per cent higher at ₹65 per share. In comparison, BSE Sensex was flat at 81,185.45. Why were Suzlon Energy shares buzzing in trade? The buying on the counter came after the company won a 381 MW order from Zelestra India and its affiliates. The 381 MW project, involving 127 of Suzlon's S144 turbines, will be spread across Maharashtra (180 MW), Madhya Pradesh (180 MW), and Tamil Nadu (21 MW). The project is a part of SJVN's FDRE bid in Maharashtra and MP, while the Tamil Nadu portion will serve Commercial & Industrial (C&I) power consumers, according to the official filing. "This project marks that critical shift. We are honored to collaborate with Zelestra, a global pioneer in decarbonization, as we collectively propel India towards a sustainable energy future. The stock price of the liquor company surpassed its previous high of ₹2,790 it touched on June 4, 2025. In comparison, the BSE Sensex was trading flat at 81,186 at 10:15 AM. Radico Khaitan Q1 results Radico Khaitan's consolidated revenues witnessed 33 per cent year-on-year (Y-o-Y) growth to ₹1,506 crore, driven by 38 per cent Y-o-Y growth in volumes to 9.72 million cases. Prestige & Above (P&A) segment volumes witness strong performance, growing by 41 per cent Y-o-Y to 3.84 million cases, while Regular & others (R&O) grew by 2.4 per cent Y-o-Y to 5.42 million cases. Growth was driven by a lower base of elections last year and also normalisation of state-specific issues. P&A revenues grew by 43 per cent Y-o-Y to ₹713.2 crore, and R&O grew by 48 per cent Y-o-Y to Rs 349.9 crore. Favourable mix, strong revenues and strong gross profit led to a 230 bps improvement in Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (Ebitda) margin to 15.4 per cent while Ebitda grew 56 per cent Y-o-Y to Rs 232.2 crore. The performance and valuations are already factored into the price of the shares of the company, ICICI Securities said in a note. Further, a change in the route-to-market in Andhra Pradesh also contributed to the regular volume growth. P&A net revenue growth was 42.8 per cent compared to Q1FY25. Non-IMFL revenue growth was 11.6 per cent. Gross Margin during the quarter was 43.0 per cent compared to 41.0 per cent in Q1FY25 and 43.5 per cent in Q4FY25. Gross Margin improved on a Y-o-Y basis due to the ongoing premiumisation in the IMFL business, coupled with a relatively stable raw material scenario. The management is optimistic that the pricing scenario for ENA and grains will remain stable going forward during FY2026.

Barometers trade sideways; pharma shares decline
Domestic equity benchmarks traded sideways on Friday, weighed down by global trade concerns after the United States imposed steep tariffs on several key trade partners and reaffirmed a 25% import duty on Indian goods. The Nifty traded below the 24,800 level. Pharma shares extended losses for the second consecutive trading session At 10:40 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex advanced 89.11 points or 0.10% to 81,281.38. The Nifty 50 index lost 4.65 points or 0.02% to 24,761.85. In the broader market, the S&P BSE Mid-Cap index slipped 0.27% and the S&P BSE Small-Cap index fell 0.08%. The market breadth was weak. On the BSE 1,924 shares rose and 1,696 shares fell. A total of 212 shares were unchanged. New Listing Shares of Shanti Gold International were currently trading at Rs 233.50 at 10:15 IST on the BSE, representing a premium of 17.34% compared with the issue price of Rs 199. The scrip was listed at Rs 229.10, exhibiting a premium of 15.13% to the issue price. So far, the stock has hit a high of Rs 238.40 and a low of Rs 227. On the BSE, over 17.72 lakh shares of the company were traded in the counter so far. Buzzing Index: The Nifty Pharma index declined 2.44% to 22,215.90. The index tanked 3.71% in two trading sessions. Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (down 3.62%), Aurobindo Pharma (down 3.45%), Gland Pharma (down 2.53%), Cipla (down 2.53%), Granules India (down 2.52%), Dr Reddys Laboratories (down 2.46%), Lupin (down 2.26%), Divis Laboratories (down 1.97%), Alkem Laboratories (down 1.95%) and Zydus Lifesciences (down 1.61%) fell. Stocks in Spotlight: Steel Strips Wheels (SSWL) declined 2.27%. The company reported a net turnover of Rs 378.87 crore for July 2025, up 4.47% YoY growth compared to Rs 362.64 crore posted in July 2024. Suzlon Energy jumped 5.44% after the company secured a 381 MW order from Zelestra India and its affiliates to power their first firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) project.
