The controversy began when spiritual leader Aniruddhacharya, also known as "Pookie Baba," was allegedly heard in a video telling his followers, 'Kehta hai, ladke laate hain 25 saal ki ladkiyon ko, jo 4-5 jagah mooh maar ke aati hain.' The statement triggered widespread outrage, with actress and influencer Khushboo Patani emerging as one of his harshest critics.

In a now-viral video, Khushboo condemned his remarks, saying, 'Agar ye mere saamne hota, to mai isko samjha deti ki mooh maarna kya hota hai. These are anti-nationalists. You should not be supporting such bards of the highest order. All the fug naamards of this society are following this bard.'
She went on to question the gendered nature of his comment, asking why women in live-in relationships were being targeted while the men were left unmentioned. 'He says ladkiyan jo live-in mein rehti hain, mooh maar ke aati hain. Why didn't he say that men in live-in relationships do the same? Does a woman live alone in a live-in relationship? And what's wrong with being in a live-in anyway?' she added.
Aniruddhacharya apologises for his comment after backlash
In a video message shared on social media on Saturday, Aniruddhacharya issued an apology but clarified that his remarks were directed at 'some women, not all.' He claimed that crucial parts of his statement were deliberately edited out before the video went viral, suggesting it was done to misrepresent his words and spread a misleading narrative.

Aniruddhacharya Maharaj, originally named Anirudh Ram Tiwari (also known as Anirudh Tiwari), was born on September 27, 1989, in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. He is a spiritual preacher and storyteller recognized for blending humor with contemporary interpretations of Hindu scriptures. He is also the founder of the Gauri Gopal Ashram in Vrindavan, which supports various charitable efforts such as elder care, food distribution, and animal welfare.
Who is Khushboo Patani?
Khushboo Patani, born on November 23, 1991, in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, is a former Indian Army officer who served from 2013 to 2024 and retired with the rank of Major. Coming from a family dedicated to public service, her father, Jagdish Singh Patani, is a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police. She is also the elder sister of popular Bollywood actress Disha Patani.
