Govt. striving to bring State back on tracks after suffering five years of damage, says Minister
Offering 'Jala Harathi' at the Pavitra Sangam in Ibrahimpatnam in NTR district, where the Godavari water arrives through the Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme, the Minister said the NDA government was trying to bring the State back on tracks after the previous government pushed it into the 'ICU'.
The previous government put a stop to 450 of the 1,040 lift irrigation schemes running till 2019, and due to this, water did not reach 4 lakh acres, the Minister said, adding that the present government is working towards reviving all those schemes.
Recalling that the scheme was launched in 2015 to divert 3,000 tmcft. of Godavari water that flowed into the sea every year, the Minister said by diverting the surplus Godavari water for the Krishna Delta, the Krishna water thus saved in the Srisailam Reservoir is being utilised for Rayalaseema.
He added that during the previous TDP regime in 2014-19, 263 tmcft. of Godavari water was diverted to the Krishna river through the lift irrigation scheme. Till date, the number stands at 428 tmcft., he said.
Terming Pattiseema a boon to the Krishna Delta, he said the scheme fetched an income of ₹50,000 crore between 2014 and 2019 for the government.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu wishes to store every drop of floodwater so that the saved water can be used when there is a scanty rains, the Minister said. Thanks to this water management, 20 tmcft. is still available in the Pulichintala project. By storing 45 tmcft. of flood water that flowed into the Krishna river last year, the government used it for drinking and irrigation this summer, the Minister added.
Accusing the YSRCP government of neglecting lift irrigation schemes, the Minister said they did not spend a penny on any repairs. But the NDA government has spent ₹700 crore for these repairs in its first year itself, despite financial constraints, the Minister said.
While concluding, he said Mr. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are trying to bring the State back on the tracks, and that every department is striving to provide better governance to the people.
Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath, Jaggayyapeta MLA Rajagopal Sreeram (Tatayya) and district officials accompanied the Minister to the Pavitra Sangam.

Telangana govt to fill 1 lakh job vacancies by mid-2026: CM Revanth Reddy
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday said his government would fill one lakh job vacancies by June 2026, before it completes two-and-a-half years in office. Addressing a public meeting in Nalgonda district after launching distribution of new ration (PDS) cards, he said the Congress government has set a record in the country by recruiting 60,000 people within a year of assuming office (in December, 2023). He criticised the previous BRS regime for not filling government vacancies for 10 years, forcing thousands of unemployed youth to spend years preparing for competitive exams in Hyderabad. 'Today, I am giving my word. We will provide one lakh government jobs before this government completes two and a half years (June, 2026) and make their (job aspirants) families live with self-respect,' Reddy said. He wondered whether the opposition BRS thought of distributing new ration cards to the poor in its 10-year-long rule. Highlighting the Congress government's pro-poor and pro-farmers schemes, he said the dispensation ensured implementation of 'Rythu Bharosa' investment support scheme, crop loan waiver, MSP, distribution of fine rice through PDS against coarse rice and new ration cards. The TDP (1999-2004) and Congress (2004-2014) in undivided Andhra Pradesh and the BRS (2014-2023, December) in Telangana were in power for 10 years each, he said. The CM said Congress would remain in power for 10 years (from December, 2023 to 2034) and reiterated his government's goal of transforming Telangana into a USD one trillion economy by 2035. On the caste survey and SC classification undertaken by his government, Reddy asserted that 42 per cent reservation would be provided to backward classes in local body polls as per the recent cabinet decision. This, he said, was the promise made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Earlier, in a post on X, he said 5.61 lakh new ration cards are being distributed, ensuring food security for 3.10 crore people across Telangana.

Living farmer declared dead in official records
Anantapur: In a shocking case of official negligence, a living farmer from Vannedoddi village in Gooty mandal, Anantapur district, has been wrongly declared dead in government records, making him ineligible for various welfare schemes. The incident has caused deep distress for the farmer and his family, who are now pleading for justice. Areti Naresh, son of Rangaiah and Devamma, received 3.73 acres of agricultural land from his father in 2023. He applied for schemes like Rythu Bharosa and PM Kisan, but his applications were repeatedly rejected. Assuming it was a routine error, he approached officials multiple times during the previous government's tenure, but no corrective action was taken. With renewed hope following the formation of the TDP-led coalition government, Naresh applied again for Annadata Sukhibhava and other schemes. However, the rejections continued. In desperation, he contacted the government's toll-free helpline 155251, only to be told that according to official records he was already deceased. Despite informing the agent that he was very much alive and speaking on the call, he was advised to approach local authorities, and the call was abruptly disconnected. Distraught, Naresh approached local officials, but his repeated petitions went unanswered. Eventually, he attempted to access benefits through the WhatsApp Governance portal launched by Minister Nara Lokesh, selecting 'Annadata Sukhibhava' services. Yet again, the system rejected his request, stating that he was recorded as deceased on the CRS (Civil Registration System) portal. This bureaucratic error has prevented Naresh and his family from availing essential schemes and welfare benefits. Turning to the media out of helplessness, the farmer demanded immediate rectification of records and restoration of his eligibility for government support. When contacted, Mandal Parishad Development Officer Prabhakar Naik admitted that the situation was deeply unfortunate. 'It is an unpardonable mistake. We will conduct a thorough inquiry, recommend suspension of the responsible staff, and initiate legal action against those at fault,' he assured. The incident has sparked outrage in the rural community, raising serious concerns about administrative oversight. Locals are now questioning the reliability of official systems, alleging that such errors reflect a dangerous level of negligence. Naresh has appealed to senior district officials to urgently correct the records, restore his identity as a living citizen, and ensure he becomes eligible once again for all welfare schemes meant for farmers.
