Responding to whether she is open to marrying a foreigner, Tara Sutaria said that she wants 'simplicity and comfort' in her life, and so she doesn't prefer to marry a foreigner.
Tara Sutaria is once again in the spotlight after navigating her personal and professional setbacks. Known for films like Student Of The Year 2 and Heropanti 2, the actress has currently been in the news for her rumoured relationship with Veer Pahariya. Having said that, the actress recently sat for an interview with Ranveer Allahbadia, where she reacted to whether she would prefer getting married to a foreigner or not.
During a chit-chat on The Ranveer Show podcast, Tara called herself 'very desi,' adding that she would want 'desipana' in her partner.
Is Tara Sutaria Open To Marrying A Foreigner?
Responding to whether she is open to marrying a foreigner, Tara said that she wants 'simplicity and comfort' in her life, and so she doesn't prefer to marry a foreigner.
'I don't think so because I am very desi actually, and I need all this like desipana (nativeness). There's a certain chilled-out thing that we have, whether it's food-related or family-related; there's a certain way of being here. I enjoy that, so I would want that. I need simplicity, and I need comfort," she stated.
She went on to say that she wants her partner to be aware of himself. Tara said, 'I need the person to know who they are. If you know who you are, everything else falls into place, I feel. Self-awareness, self-worth to a certain extent, and having a sense of self as well are very important."
'Knowing who you are in essence and knowing your beliefs, what you stand for, what you don't stand for, what you will never stand for, and what you could possibly change to stand for—all of these things are so important," she added.
Tara Sutaria's Love Life
Tara was previously in a romantic relationship with Aadar Jain from 2019. They parted ways in 2023, and she is currently rumoured to be dating Veer Pahariya. Though the two have not confirmed the relationship, they are often seen together. At the India Couture Week 2025, Tara and Veer blew kisses at each other as the actress walked the ramp.
Also, in a recent podcast with Ranveer Allahbadia, the actress was all smiles when asked about her relationship status. 'I'm very happy right now! Yes! I'm elated, over the moon," she confessed. When asked if she and her partner stargaze together, she added playfully, 'Yeah, it's actually a fun experience. Chaudhvin Ka Chand vibes," she said.
Tara Sutaria's Bollywood Journey
The actress stepped into the lights-camera-action world with the Bollywood film Student of the Year 2. In the 2019 film, she starred alongside Ananya Panday and Tiger Shroff. Since then, she has starred in several films like Marjaavaan, Heropanti 2, Tadap and Ek Villain Returns. Tara Sutaria last starred in the 2023 film Apurva, and she is yet to announce her next film.
Meanwhile, she's made a musical comeback with Canadian-Punjabi artist AP Dhillon's song, Thodi Si Daru. Released on July 17, the track has been making waves for its soulful vocals and on-screen chemistry between Tara and AP. Fuelling the song's growing popularity is singer Shreya Ghoshal's vocals.

If Saiyaara moved you with its music and emotional love story, here are some movies which you should give it a try. If Mohit Suri's Saiyaara, featuring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, moved you with its emotional storytelling, music and layered portrayal of love, you're likely someone who appreciates romantic dramas that tap into the soul. The film blends raw emotion with a beautifully crafted musical backdrop, making it an experience that lingers long after the credits roll. For those craving more films that explore love, longing and loss through music and deeply felt performances, we have curated a list of emotionally charged romantic films. These titles not only spotlight powerful storytelling but are also elevated by their unforgettable soundtracks much like Saiyaara. 1. Aashiqui 2 – Streaming on Prime Video Directed by Mohit Suri himself, Aashiqui 2 remains a cornerstone of modern Bollywood romances. It tells the poignant story of Rahul (Aditya Roy Kapur), a fading singing sensation and Aarohi (Shraddha Kapoor), a small-town girl with a golden voice. Their relationship evolves amidst fame, insecurity and personal battles leading to a heart-wrenching yet spiritually fulfilling conclusion. The soundtrack, featuring hits like 'Tum Hi Ho', serves as the emotional heartbeat of the film and continues to resonate with fans even a decade later. 2. Laila Majnu (2018) – Streaming on Netflix An intense reimagining of the classic tale of doomed lovers, Laila Majnu offers a fresh and raw take on love that defies logic. Set against the backdrop of Kashmir, the story follows Qais (Avinash Tiwary) and Laila (Triptii Dimri), whose romance spirals into obsession, spiritual longing and madness. Helmed by director Sajid Ali and backed by Imtiaz Ali's storytelling sensibilities, this film blends poetic visuals with a deeply immersive soundtrack. It's a haunting exploration of what it means to love beyond the constraints of the real world. 3. Rockstar – Streaming on Amazon Prime Video Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar is a film that defines the genre of musical romantic tragedies. The story follows Janardhan Jakhar (Ranbir Kapoor), a naive and awkward college student who dreams of becoming a legendary musician. When his love for Heer (Nargis Fakhri) collides with life's many curveballs, Jordan is born a brooding, tormented rock icon. The film delves into the connection between artistic genius and personal suffering. A.R. Rahman's unforgettable soundtrack, featuring songs like 'Nadaan Parindey' and 'Kun Faya Kun', is a masterpiece in itself and breathes life into Jordan's emotional journey. 4. A Star Is Born – Streaming on Hotstar This contemporary classic, directed by Bradley Cooper, is an emotionally rich portrayal of love, fame and personal struggle. The film charts the relationship between Jackson Maine (Bradley Cooper), a seasoned musician battling addiction and Ally (Lady Gaga), a gifted young singer-songwriter whose star is just beginning to rise. As Ally ascends, Jackson's demons begin to unravel him. Their love, intense, selfless, yet tragically flawed, is underscored by an award-winning soundtrack that includes the unforgettable 'Shallow'. It's a bittersweet reminder of how love and ambition can intertwine and implode. 5. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind – Streaming on Netflix Though not a musical in the traditional sense, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is a lyrical and deeply introspective film about memory, heartbreak and emotional resilience. Joel (Jim Carrey) and Clementine (Kate Winslet) undergo a futuristic medical procedure to erase all memories of their failed relationship only to discover that some connections are too profound to forget. With its dreamy visuals, nonlinear storytelling and emotionally charged performances, this film beautifully captures the messy, cyclical nature of love and healing. Karan Johar reveals he hasn't yet explained surrogacy to his children Yash and Roohi: 'I hope they accept it'
Filmmaker, producer, and storyteller Karan Johar is known for his cinematic flair and glamorous persona, but behind the scenes, he's living one of the most meaningful stories of his life—as a single parent to twins, Yash and Roohi. In a heartfelt reflection, Karan recently spoke about navigating parenthood, surrogacy, and the honest conversations he's preparing to have with his children. Karan Johar discusses preparing for honest conversations with his children about their birth and emphasises the love and understanding he aims to provide them. Karan talks about explaining surrogacy to his children Karan became a father in 2017 via surrogacy, a decision he has never shied away from, but one he acknowledges comes with its own set of emotional milestones. Speaking on the podcast Soul Safar with Bhaav, Karan talked about how he first explained their birth to his children, 'Earlier, I was poetic about it and told them that you came from Dada's heart. Then my daughter understood the biology of it and said it is not possible—you have to come from someone's stomach. But she never asked me more. From a very young age, they call my mother 'mumma'. They know she's much older, that she's actually a grandmother. They are eight now, and the big, solid chat hasn't happened. But I think they have an understanding. They're not quite oblivious to it,' Karan said. That 'big solid chat,' as he puts it, is on the horizon—and Karan is ready to meet it with nothing but truth and pride. 'The day is coming soon, and I think the only way I will deal with it is with complete honesty. I will explain the process to them. I'll tell them that I'm absolutely proud of my decision. It's not that they've been denied love at all. I've given them abundant love—love that a couple would give them. My mum and I have done that. I hope and pray they have the emotional understanding to accept it and don't carry any baggage,' he said. Karan on how parenthood changed his life The journey of parenthood has also reshaped Karan's worldview. Known for being the life of every Bollywood party, he now finds joy and meaning elsewhere. He mentions that he has realised that he was trying to impress people and be the life of the party outside, but the real party was at home.
