Patralekhaa says she hates being called just Rajkummar Rao's wife: ‘People approach me only to reach Raj'
Actor Patralekhaa made her Bollywood debut alongside Rajkummar Rao in CityLights. The two began dating in 2010 and tied the knot in 2021. In a recent interview with Galatta India, Patralekhaa spoke about being referred to solely as Rajkummar's wife, stating that she isn't comfortable with it. Patralekhaa said that she "really hates just to be called Rajkummar Rao's wife" and added, "I detest it, and I feel very small. Kyunki mera ek naam hai… mera ek astitva hai. (Because I have a name… I have an identity). Aapko lagta hai meri zindagi asaan hai kyunki mere husband famous hai but it's never easy. If you are trying to establish yourself as an individual and have your own career, it is very difficult. I request the media not to do this because it takes a lot of hard work. I'll never be comfortable and will keep fighting till the day I die."
She further added, "People often approach me only to reach Raj. They bring me scripts not because they want me, but because they want to cast him. And then it becomes clear what the bait is, they want me to take it to Raj, and the film is mine."
Patralekhaa and Rajkummar tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony after 11 years of dating. While for Rajkummar it was love at first sight when he saw her in an advertisement, Patralekhaa, on the other hand, initially found him to be a 'weird guy' after seeing him for the first time in LSD. The couple often shares pictures together on social media, giving major couple goals.
Patralekhaa was most recently seen in the film Phule, directed by Anant Mahadevan and produced by Dancing Shiva Films, Kingsmen Productions, and Zee Studios. The film is based on the lives of Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule. Along with Patralekhaa, the film also stars Pratik Gandhi, Vinay Pathak, and Sushil Pandey in key roles.
Meanwhile, Rajkummar will next be seen in the film Bhool Chuk Maaf. The science fiction romantic comedy, written and directed by Karan Sharma, also features Seema Pahwa and Wamiqa Gabbi in lead roles. While the film was initially slated for a theatrical release on 9 May, it will now premiere directly on OTT due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. The film is scheduled to stream on Prime Video from May 16.

So, when I told my family that I was doing a song with Rajkummar in his upcoming film—and that it's not just a typical item song but an important part of the story—they were over the moon. My mother was thrilled, and my entire family was incredibly supportive. They've seen how much hard work and dedication I've put into my craft, despite all the challenges. They were extremely proud and truly grateful to see this moment happen. It feels like all the discipline and sincerity I've poured into my work has really paid off. I honestly didn't take any references or look at past hit party numbers for 'Ting Ling Sajna' because every song is unique. I wanted to make sure I carried that vibe and did justice to the storytelling. Dance has always been the most defining part of my journey, and whatever I've achieved today is because of the talent I bring to it. Deepshikha Nagpal says doing B-grade films damaged her career, people in Bollywood judged her: 'The damage is done'
Actor Deepshikha Nagpal, known for her roles in Bollywood hits like Koyla, Baadshah, Dillagi, and Partner, recently opened up about her transition to television. In an interview with Instant Bollywood, she revealed that a few wrong film choices led to her being categorised in the industry, prompting her decision to explore opportunities on the small screen. Although acting was never part of her initial plan, and she entered the industry by chance, she gave it her all once she became an actor. Reflecting on her career, she admitted to having made a few wrong choices when it came to selecting films, but maintained that she never disliked any of the roles she played. She recalled, "During that time, it used to be like if it's a new production, then it's a B-grade film, like Yash Raj and Subhash Ghai films were like A-list films. So it was difficult to understand how to choose. There was no godfather, and now I feel a godfather is very important to guide you. I made a lot of wrong film choices at that time. My grandfather used to say that no work is small or big, work is work. I think I took that too seriously, and I kept doing whatever work came my way. I did a lot of stupid films which never released." She talked about her transition to television and said, "Some of the releases had a very bad impact on my career. I had signed a lot of big films, but after my poster in the Trade Guide, people used to judge that it's a B-grade movie she is doing, and they didn't cast me. Then I got to know that the damage is done. I said, 'Can we just forget about it?' They said, 'No, it will impact our film. ' Then I started doing television shows. I was doing wrong films, people were not trusting me and categorising me that I cannot be an A-lister. So then I got frustrated. It was new then—Doordarshan, Zee TV—and roles were coming to me easily. Even after doing films, I was one of the few who took TV, and it helped me establish myself again." In the television industry, Deepshikha made her mark with negative roles in shows like Son Pari, Ramayan, Karishma – The Miracles of Destiny, Baalveer, Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, Santoshi Maa, and more. She also participated in reality shows like Bigg Boss 8 and Nach Baliye.
