NFL quarterback has to be held back by security after getting into ugly fight while coaching youth football game
Las Vegas Raiders starting quarterback Geno Smith had to be held back by security during an ugly fight while coaching a youth football game this weekend in Florida. Smith, who is coaching the South Florida Express, a national-championship 7-on-7 football team, in his time away from the NFL, got heated on the sidelines during Saturday night's game. The game, which aired live on NFL Network due to having several blue-chip recruits playing, took place at a local high school against Raw Miami. The Express won the game 38-21 but the lasting image was Smith's sideline confrontation. Smith was shouting at someone off camera, with security not letting the Raiders starter get physical. 'That's why they pay me the big bucks, that's why I get paid the big bucks,' Smith shouted. 'That's why they bring the big bucks to me, that's why they pay me the big bucks. That's why they pay me the big bucks! Smith signed a 2-year, $75million contract with the Raiders. It's safe to say that counts as big bucks. Geno Smith was not the only gridiron star to be at the 7-on-7 clash, with Ohio State phenom Jeremiah Smith also at the game. Jeremiah played for the South Florida Express before becoming arguably the best player in college football. Geno is now the starter for the Raiders, who was courted to Las Vegas by Tom Brady and Pete Carroll. He'll have massive expectations on him competing in the AFC West, a division with fellow starting quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert. It's clear Smith is as confident as ever, with training camp starting next month.
