Katherine Kelly has spoken out on the challenges she faced while working on her new Channel 4 drama In Flight, as she joined This Morning to talk about the new series
Katherine Kelly has revealed the genuine difficulties of shooting her latest television project. She confessed, "I thought we'd have to reshoot" one crucial scene.

The 45-year-old actress is poised to mesmerise audiences tonight as she portrays Jo Conran in the fresh Channel 4 drama In Flight.

Prior to the compelling drama, the star featured on Tuesday's (August 12) edition of This Morning, alongside hosts Emma Willis and Andi Peters, discussing her newest television role, reports the Express.

Katherine was eager to reveal how Belfast's brutal weather impacted filming. She explained: "This is a really ambitious project, we filmed it in Belfast but it's set in London though so it had to look like anywhere in the world."
Andi interjected and enquired: "Bangkok is one of the places, so you had to make Bangkok in Belfast?"

Katherine proceeded to detail the severe conditions they encountered on set, stating: "Not only did we do it in Belfast in the winter, but there was an amber weather warning that day."
She added: "So I said to Chris, our brilliant director, I was like 'how are we going to make Belfast street look like Bangkok, also how are we going to do it today because it hasn't stopped raining today'."
The actress confessed: "We shot it that night because it needed to look moody, and we had about 35 supporting artists, we all had summer clothes on freezing in the rain.

"We were literally dragging our feet through the puddles. I honestly thought we would have to reshoot that, but it looks incredible. You have to keep watching because it is right at the end, but it was absolutely brilliant."
The Channel 4 thriller In Flight centres on a flight attendant and single mum, Jo, who discovers herself trapped in a living hell when her son, Sonny, is locked up in Bulgaria for a killing he insists he didn't carry out.

Subsequently, Jo is contacted by an enigmatic figure who discloses himself to be part of a criminal organisation that has methods to reach Sonny behind bars.
Through making threats against his life, they force Jo into trafficking narcotics across international boundaries by exploiting her anonymity as cabin crew when passing through airport security.
Katherine is scheduled to appear alongside Martin, Ashley Thomas, and Bronagh Waugh, who have secured pivotal parts.
This Morning broadcasts weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and ITVX and In Flight debuts on Channel 4 on Tuesday 12th August 2025.

Taylor Swift shares emotional health update on dad Scott after major heart surgery

Taylor Swift has shared a major health update on her dad Scott, after he underwent a quintuple bypass procedure earlier this Summer Following months of eager anticipation, Taylor Swift fans were treated to a surprise on Wednesday night, when the pop superstar herself officially revealed all the details of her latest album The Life of a Showgirl, during her appearance with boyfriend Travis Kelce on the New Heights podcast. ‌ Whilst the stunning twelve-track lineup and album artwork dominated discussions throughout the evening, the two-hour podcast was also filled with touching revelations about the singer's personal life, including the emotional moment she reclaimed ownership of her master recordings - and the enduring impact of the Eras tour. ‌ However, woven amongst the emotional whirlwind of revelations, came a significant health update regarding Taylor's father Scott, who underwent life-saving surgery after doctors discovered he had a serious heart condition requiring immediate treatment. ‌ "He is doing incredibly well," Taylor informed podcast host Jason Kelce when he asked about her dad. "My dad had an interesting Summer. He recently had a quintuple bypass surgery and that's a really intense surgery. It all happened really quick. "He's had a healthy, perfect, EKG every year he's gone in to get his physicals - but what found his five heart blockages was a resting stress test. So he's been telling all his friends, 'You need to get this stress test' because that's what's actually preventative. If you can find that earlier, you don't actually have to have a bypass surgery, you can sort out those blockages with stents and things that are a lot less invasive.", reports the Express. Taylor subsequently disclosed the seriousness of her father's health situation, explaining that he was scheduled for surgery just a day after discovering his heart blockages. However, in typical fatherly fashion, he didn't want his family to worry or rush to his side. Despite this, Taylor ignored his wishes and hurried to his bedside to assist him during his recovery. This included some tough love when she had to take away his phone after he spent the entire night FaceTiming friends instead of resting after surgery! Determined not to leave him alone in case he needed anything, both Taylor and Travis moved in with him for the summer. With additional support from her mother and brother, they were able to help Scott make significant progress in his recovery.

Mary Berry's 'delicious' chicken lasagne can be whipped up in under 30 minutes

Mary Berry's chicken lasagne recipe is so quick and easy to rustle up that it can be on the table in under 30 minutes and it's creamy and delicious too Perfect for feeding the entire family, or for popping in the freezer for a later date, chicken lasagne is simple to prepare and cook. ‌ In her Mary Berry Cook and Share recipe book, the legendary cook explained: "I've cheated with the white sauce and made a quick creamy sauce instead. There are fewer layers than in a traditional lasagne but it's still creamy and delicious." ‌ And she offers a professional cooking tip to make it taste even better: "Soaking the lasagne sheets in water first ensures they will cook quickly." It comes as Brooklyn Beckham is torn to shreds by royal chef for 'ridiculous' idea. ‌ Here's how to make Mary Berry's straightforward chicken lasagne recipe that can be prepared in less than 30 minutes, reports the Express. How to make chicken lasagne: Preheat the oven to 200C (180C fan/gas six). Place the oil in a frying pan over a high heat. Add the chicken pieces and fry rapidly until golden but not cooked. Add the chilli, garlic and mushrooms and fry for a few moments. Add the spinach and stir until wilted. Measure the cornflour into a small bowl and stir in two tablespoons of water until smooth. Add the crème fraîche and parsley to the pan with the chicken and stir. Pour in the cornflour mixture and stir until thickened. To make the sauce combine the tomatoes, sun-dried tomato paste and thyme in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper and mix well. Soak the lasagne sheets in a shallow dish filled with boiling water for a few minutes until soft. Ladle a third of the chicken concoction into the oven dish, followed by a third of the tomato sauce. Place three lasagne sheets on top and repeat the layers. End with a final layer of chicken mixture and sauce. Dust the top with grated cheddar and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, until it turns golden-brown and is thoroughly cooked. Serve alongside a fresh salad.

Essex Police were called to an incident in Southend's Shoebury on Wednesday, 27 March 2024, where a man had tragically died after falling from a height. ‌ A spokesperson for the force stated at the time: "We received a report of an incident at Campfield Road in Shoebury at around 10am this morning (March 27), during which a man who was working at height had fallen and sustained an injury." Despite the arrival of an air ambulance, he sadly died at the scene. During the opening of an inquest into his death in April, it was revealed at the Essex coroner's court that he had plummeted through a plastic skylight and his injuries were "consistent with a fall from height". Two men were subsequently arrested on suspicion of manslaughter in connection with the incident but were later released under investigation, reports Essex Live. ‌ Now, Essex Police have confirmed that these individuals will not face any further action from the police. However, the criminal investigation remains open and ongoing, and will be headed by the Health and Safety Executive. A spokesman for the force said: "The thoughts of everyone at Essex Police remain with George's family and friends. The criminal investigation remains open and will be led by the Health and Safety Executive. George's heartbroken mum, Linda, previously revealed that George, a qualified roofer, had only been back at work for three days and was trying to "rebuild his life". She expressed her devastation, saying, "I'm devastated, he was like my best friend. He had the best heart in the world. He was generous, funny and kind, with bundles of charm and buckets of personality. "He did more in his 40 years than people do in 90 – he's even had dinner with the Prince of Dubai. He was crazy, but after coming out of showbiz, he couldn't get his life back together. He just couldn't get over the death of Pete.
