Forget You Not – Season 1 Episode 2 Recap & Review
The Most Difficult Person, Me
Episode 2 of Forget You Not begins with Le-le reflecting on her past relationship with her dad. Unlike the other kids at school, she never saw Kuang-chi as a superhero, and flashbacks to her childhood seem to show that he's absent a lot of the time, arriving late to pick her up from school.
We then cut to five years ago from our present timeline. Le-le works as a tour guide for seniors but she hates her job. She's also not married to Chang Kai just yet either, which helps to place this in the timeline. Her father tries to contact her but Le-le is flustered and bombarded with questions from the tourists so she ignores his texts.
An altercation at the hotel the guests are due to stay a causes drama when Le-le hits out at a customer. The whole ordeal is blown completely out of proportion but it also causes her to be fired. On the way home, Le-le stumbles upon an open-mic night at a bar and winds up on stage talking about her firing and job experience.
Funnily enough, this is also where she meets Chang Kai, a prospective businessman who's disappointed when he fails to make partner at his firm. He enjoys her set, which is surprisingly good for someone with no material. For a while anyway as Le-le soon gets emotional and winds up trauma-dumping, which sees Chang Kai take a shining to her.
The club's producer, Mark, wants to bring her onboard and he believes she's got potential. This is also where she meets Chang-kai too and the pair get along well. Through all of this, her dad is at home worried sick as he hasn't heard from her all day.
When Le-le heads home, she barely says two words to hr dad, much to his dismay. He makes up an excuse that he was watching TV and even attempts to make her a glass of milk but Le-le gives him the cold shoulder the whole time.
Le-le is still friends with Su-fei and Chai-yun here and in fact, the latter is pregnant! Her concerns have changed slightly as she's worried that their 'Period Club' needs to be moved to a different venue.
As time passes and Le-le winds up working at the FamilyMart to help pay the bills, Chai-yun goes into labour and both Su-fei and Le-le rush to help their friend. Now, Su-fei and Le-le haven't been speaking for a while given the incident at the hotel where Su-fei failed to stand up for her friend.
As they race to be there for Chai-yun, both of them manage to patch up their differences. However, Le-le forgets her dad's birthday and rings him to wish the guy a belated happy birthday. They barely talk though and she's quite blunt on the phone, deciding they'll do something together soon.
At the end of the episode, we cut back in time and see Le-le and Chang-kai meeting at the Mart again, giving us an indication of where episode 3 will go next.
The Episode Review
This episode works well to show more of the past and how Kuang-chi has been desperately trying to repair his relationship with Le-le, who has never seen her father as a superhero in her life. It's quite sad to see how their ties have been broken and the pair aren't on the same wavelength at all. It'sa contrast to Su-fei and Le-le though, who do finally manage to patch up their differences.
Seeing the start of Chang-kai and Le-le's relationship is a nice touch though and I'm sure we'll see more of that across the rest of the season.
For now though, understanding more of the past is helping to flesh out more of this relationship between Le-le and her dad. The overall theme about growing up and seeing your parents age is particularly resonant here too. Hopefully the episodes ahead will show more of this relationship.

While this is indeed a wallet-friendly option for a quick and easy transformation, it's sparked a fierce debate online - with critics dubbing the look ''terrible''. But despite the backlash, it looks like plastic shower curtains are here for yet another season - whether some like it or not. One place where the garden trend has returned is the popular Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, with dozens of Brits proudly showing off their outdoor glow-ups. One person, Remi Mason, said their mum had attached eBay shower curtains to her fence - which now featured a faux waterfall effect. Although the photos were allegedly submitted to the group in lockdown, it wasn't until recently the post was approved - and heaps of others revealed they'd jumped on the trend too. A fellow member, Lynnsey Wilson, uploaded a snap of her upgraded garage - that was now hiding behind a cottage-feel curtain. ''I've done this,'' said Tania Denning, who had attached a shower curtain featuring the Buddha in front of a gorgeous flower display. Meanwhile, Debbie Joynt opted for a more tropical design to cover the unsightly garage. If you too are keen to spruce up your garden this season on the cheap, the options for affordable shower curtains are endless - and there are heaps of prints to choose from. I hate my new build garden being overlooked so found a 5 METRE privacy fence to block out nosy neighbours for under £30 While some Facebook users found budget-friendly versions from Shein for less than £8, the China-based marketplace offers even cheaper ones - for as little as £2. Rival Temu also has a mega variety of shower curtains for a garden overhaul - some cheap picks include a rainforest-themed curtain for just £6 or even a hidden oasis one for £7. Manny Pacquiao could not stop crying after announcing retirement as legend, 46, prepares for controversial comeback
MANNY PACQUIAO could not stop crying after failing to cope with being a retired boxer. The Filipino great hung up his gloves in August 2021 following defeat to Yordenis Ugas. 3 But after a failed presidential campaign in the Philippines and a couple of exhibition bouts - Pacquiao is returning. And PacMan - who won honours in EIGHT divisions - opened up on his emotional struggles after retiring from the sport. He said: "That moment when I announced I was hanging up my gloves four years ago, I was so sad. "I couldn't avoid the tears coming out of my eyes. I really missed boxing. "For however many months, I was like, I'm not a boxer anymore?'" Pacquiao was beaten in the 2022 presidential election and then failed in a bid for a second run as a senator this year. So he is now fully focusing on boxing after juggling pugilism with politics throughout his career and retirement. Pacquiao said: "Right now, the book of politics is closed. It's not even in my mind. I'm focusing on my career as a boxer again. "I can still do my job in boxing. I'm not done yet. The fire, the determination, the eagerness to train and work hard, it's still there. It's amazing." Pacquiao faced Korean YouTuber DK Yoo in a 2022 exhibition in the first sign he was making a comeback. Fans shocked by size difference as Manny Pacquiao and Mario Barrios face off ahead of legend's return aged 46 in Vegas He then returned last July for another exhibition, against Japanese kickboxer Rukiya Anpo in Tokyo. And despite not winning since 2019 - SIX YEARS AGO - talks were ongoing behind the scenes for a world title shot. Before long, it was announced that Pacquiao, at 46, will challenge for Mario Barrios' WBC welterweight title. Per WBC rules, a contender must be ranked within their top 15 in order to be eligible for a championship bout. So it came as little surprise when Pacquiao sneaked back into the WBC's top five in mid May - despite his absence from the ring. 3 Boxing's oldest world champ of all time is Bernard Hopkins, who won a world title aged 49. And Pacquiao said: 'It would mean a lot for me to become world champion again. "Manny Pacquiao is always giving surprises to the fans. That's my passion and it's really important to me. "I want everyone to be happy with this fight. My goal is to leave a legacy to the boxing fans. "I want to inspire the young generation who are dreaming of becoming a champion. 'July 19 is gonna be a lot of action. There's a lot of great fights on this card. "I know what Barrios is capable of and I know that we can entertain the fans." 3

A LOVE Island star has unfollowed his girlfriend on social media, and liked another star's sexy bikini snap, weeks after denying their split. Ronnie Vint and Harriett Blackmore appear to be no longer following each other on Instagram, despite being on holiday together in Ibiza currently. 4 4 4 The unfollows came after fans recently spotted that footballer Ronnie, 28, had deleted photos of Harriett, 25, from Instagram - sparking fears they had separated. Tyne-Lexy Clarson, who rose to fame on Love Island's third season, was seen lounging on a sun bed in Dubai in a white bikini, in a photo posted yesterday. Ronnie has given the sexy snap a like, despite not following the blonde beauty on social media. The Sun has contacted Ronnie and Harriett's representatives for comment. It comes after Ronnie denied he and Harriett had split, after a screengrab from an Instagram page claimed that they had. The post appeared to show Ronnie commenting: "Yeah it's true. Will explain my side of things later," along with the caption: "Ronnie Vint is sharing his side of that story with what happened with Harriett." Love Island's Ronnie Vint reveals 'exact moment' he KNEW Harriett was heading into All Stars villa - despite her blocking him He wrote: "This is clearly a set up. Since that speculation online, Harriett posted Instagram snaps of the pair enjoying a sunny holiday in Dubai, and captioned them: "Dreamiest week". They've also been enjoying time together in Ibiza recently, but have unfollowed each other while away. It comes as the villa duo's plans to move in together were recently revealed. Harriett opened up to The Mirror, saying: "In June. Everything's happening at once. "We're moving up towards London, which is exciting. "It's really close to Matilda [Draper], so we'll be spending a lot of time with her and going back and forth." Although Ronnie was an original All Stars islander, his then-ex entered as a bombshell on Day reunited, the pair fell short of winning after being "dumped" on Day 34 of 36.
