Man fighting for life with critical injuries after North Gosford stabbing

A man is currently in critical condition after being stabbed on the Central Coast on Tuesday morning while two people are currently on the run.
Chief Inspector Colin Lott, said the alleged incident occurred about 6am after police were contacted by concerned residents regarding an incident at Gertrude St, North Gosford.
When police arrived at the scene, they located a 38-year-old man with serious injuries at the basement of a unit block.
'It's alleged two offenders, a male and a female were involved in an altercation with this male and they subsequently produced knives and stabbed the victim multiple times,' Inspector Lott said.
The alleged duo then fled the scene while paramedics arrived and rushed the man to Gosford Hospital in a critical state, where he has a 50/50 chance of survival.
The man allegedly sustained multiple stab wounds to his back and upper body and severe laceration to his lower forearm.
It is believed the victim and alleged offenders are known to each other.
Neighbours came out to see what was happening and saw two people of interest leaving the scene.
Cassidy Orchard said she woke up to her neighbour screaming from downstairs 'help, help'.
'He was sitting at the bottom of the lift, his arm was bleeding, there was a lot of blood, we called the police and called the ambulance,' Ms Orchard said.
She said the man's dog had been stabbed as well.

''They got me,' that's all he was saying. Everyone came running down and grabbed towels.
'He wanted me to put the fire hose on him and he said 'help me, grab my arm' and 'they got me'.
'Shock, lots of blood, it's the first thing I saw in my apartment building, it's not a normal thing that happens here.
'He's been my neighbour for quite a few years, he's a nice man.'
Inspector Lott said police were looking for a female about 19-years-old and a male approximately 24-years-old who were both Caucasian.
'The scene was pretty graphic, the male was laying on the ground near the elevator, near the lift of the unit block and there was a large amount of blood present and a blood trail from where he had run from as well to the point of where he's collapsed'.
'We have our crime scene people on. End processing the scene and we have detectives following up on leads we currently have.

'It's our belief both parties were involved in the stabbing.
Police believe there is no threat to the public and they are hoping to locate the offenders.
'We are aware of who we believe these parties to be and advise them to attend the local police station as soon as possible because we are out there looking with all our resources.
