Police appeal to identify man found dead in Newport over a month ago
His death is not being treated as suspicious, but despite ongoing enquiries, officers assisting the Gwent Coroner's Office have not yet been able to confirm his identity.
The man is described as Asian, of slim build, approximately 5ft 8in tall, with a short grey beard. He is believed to be between 50 and 60 years old.
Police are asking anyone who recognises the man, or who knows someone matching the description and has not heard from them since early July, to get in touch.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Gwent Police via their website, by calling 101, or by sending a direct message on Facebook or X (formerly Twitter), quoting log reference 2500218609.

'Perhaps a part of me does not want to acknowledge everything that your face and body shows, and what you and the prisoners have been through,' wrote Fadwa Al Barghouthi, who spells their last name differently in English. Israeli officials say they have reduced the conditions under which Palestinians are held to the bare minimum allowed under Israeli and international law. Many detainees released as part of a ceasefire in Gaza earlier this year appeared gaunt and ill, and some were taken for immediate medical treatment.
