The Bengal Files: Vivek Agnihotri And Pallavi Joshi Move Court, Seek Dismissal Of FIR
Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri and his wife Pallavi Joshi have moved the Calcutta High Court to seek dismissal of the FIR filed against them with regard to their upcoming movie, The Bengal Files. Just a few days back, a complaint was filed against the couple for allegedly presenting controversial content in their movie. In response, the director and producer have approached the High Court seeking dismissal of the FIR. More details are awaited.
What Do We Know About The Bengal Files?
Originally announced as part of his 'Files" trilogy following The Tashkent Files (2019) and the widely discussed The Kashmir Files (2022), the project had been in development under the working title The Delhi Files. However, it was recently announced that the film will be called 'The Bengal Files'.
The Bengal Files is written by Vivek Agnihotri and produced by Abhishek Agarwal and Pallavi Joshi. It stars Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher, and Darshan Kumar. Recently, the teaser of the film was released, giving a dark and emotional glimpse into what to expect. It featured actor Mithun Chakraborty in a serious look, walking quietly through a dim hallway while reading the Preamble to the Constitution but with a burnt tongue. The teaser got a lot of attention and emotional reactions from people all over the country.
Previously, Vivek Agnihotri mentioned that he is planning to reveal the 'darkest" truths with The Bengal Files. He also made a big statement and added that the film will 'destroy" viewers. 'Dear friends, they tried to silence me. They tried to erase history. But The Kashmir Files became a movement—shaking the nation and exposing the truth of the Kashmiri Hindu genocide. The Kashmir Files was more than a film; it was a revolution, a voice for the voiceless, and a relentless fight for justice," Agnihotri wrote.
The Bengal Files is written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri and produced by Abhishek Agarwal and Pallavi Joshi under the banners I Am Buddha Productions and Abhishek Agarwal Arts, along with Tej Narayan Agarwal. The film will hit theatres on September 5, 2025.

Goosebumps cancelled after two seasons

Based on the book series from R L Stine, the show won't return for the third season as producers from Sony Pictures Television have planned to shop the show to other outlets and explore different creative directions for the IP, as reported by the entertainment news outlet Variety. The show was developed by Nicholas Stoller and Rob Letterman. Hilary Winston served as executive producer and showrunner. The first season released in October 2023 and comprised 10 episodes. It starred Justin Long, Rachael Harris, Zack Morris, Isa Briones, Miles McKenna, Ana Yi Puig, and Will Price. The second season featured David Schwimmer, Ana Ortiz, Jayden Bartels, Sam McCarthy, Elijah M. Cooper, Francesca Noel, and Galilea La Salvia. It came out on the streamer in January and had eight episodes. Stine's writings emerged as the best-selling book series of all time, with over 400 million copies being published in English and international editions in 32 languages.
