Canada's privacy commissioner to investigate cybersecurity breach at airline WestJet
Canada's privacy commissioner on Tuesday said his office had opened an investigation into a cybersecurity breach at Calgary-based airline WestJet.
The privacy commissioner of Canada, Philippe Dufresne, said in a statement that the incident involved a 'malicious actor' who gained access to the airline's systems.

Ontario cottage country murder and arson suspect confirmed dead

Article content The advisory was lifted just before 2 a.m. Saturday. Police said that although Gray hadn't been located, he wasn't believed to pose a threat to public safety because the individuals involved were known to each other. Article content Police issued a wanted bulletin. As of Tuesday afternoon, Ontario Provincial Police said they were still searching for Gray. 'He remains outstanding,' an OPP spokesperson told National Post. 'We ask that anyone with information about the incident or his whereabouts to contact police or Crime Stoppers.' Article content Article content Police told that they suspected the bodies inside the fire-gutted home were son and mother but still they searched for Gray. Hamilton police identified 21-year-old Harsimrat Randhawa as the victim who died in a shooting on April 17. (Hamilton Police Service) Police will be providing an update this morning on the death of a 21-year-old international student who was struck by a stray bullet in Hamilton last spring. Harsimrat Randhawa was shot and killed on Upper James Street in Hamilton on April 17. Police previously said the international student from India was studying at Mohawk College and was shot while waiting for a bus. Investigators said the woman was an innocent bystander and was shot by suspects who were inside a vehicle. Czech power company CEZ reports net profit of US$779 million in the first half of 2025

The results exceeded expectations and the company increased its profit outlook for this year from a range of 25-29 billion Czech koruna to 26-30 billion, chief executive Daniel Benes said. The Czech state has an almost 70 per cent stake in the company. CEZ's 2024 net profit was 30.5 billion Czech koruna. The company, along with the Czech government, jointly own an enterprise that signed a deal earlier this year with the state-run South Korean KHNP power utility to build two nuclear reactors in the European country in an $18 billion deal. The two new reactors will be built at the existing Dukovany power plant owned by CEZ as the country seeks to wean itself off fossil fuels. The Associated Press
