India nurturing over a million entrepreneurs: Jayant Chaudhary
New Delhi: The government is nurturing over a million entrepreneurs through its ambitious programmes like Startup India, Skill India and Atal Innovation Mission, Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary has stressed.
Addressing the 'TiEcon 2025' conference in the US via a video message, the minister said India today stands at a powerful inflection point where innovation, enterprise, and skills are converging to shape a new global narrative.
'Across every corner of our nation, entrepreneurs are solving real problems, building sustainable ventures, and creating scalable impact,' he told the gathering.
At the conference, a high-level Indian delegation comprising leaders in deep-tech, climate innovation, healthcare, AI, and digital transformation showcased the country's expanding role as a global innovation partner.
The delegation reflected India's entrepreneurial spirit rooted in resilience, inclusion, and purpose-driven development.
Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, also had a brief interaction about India's skill ecosystem and about of NSDC's initiatives, and how the organisation is equipping Indian youth with job-ready and future-ready skills.
Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO, NSDC and MD, NSDC International, said, 'AI is transforming the world in ways we never imagined which necessitates proactive measures to navigate the challenges and harness the opportunities it brings.
'Cutting-edge platforms like Skill India Digital Hub allows learners from across the country to learn from anywhere, anytime. He underscored NSDC International's critical role in transforming India into a global supplier of skilled manpower,' he mentioned.
The annual three-day conference focused on the vast potential and disruptive power of artificial intelligence in shaping the future of enterprises and society and has brought together entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, and academia.
India's participation at TiEcon 2025 marks a significant step in strengthening its positioning as a global talent hub and innovation partner in the AI era.
NSDC also set up a dedicated exhibition stall at the conference, which drew enthusiastic engagement from global participants.

Gehlot blames govt for power cuts, energy min says ‘no load shedding'
Jaipur: Former chief minister Sunday criticised the Bhajan Lal govt for frequent power cuts in the state. In a post on X, he said, "When the BJP govt in Rajasthan completed one year, they loudly proclaimed that Rajasthan was a surplus state in terms of electricity. "Power cuts in a surplus state directly indicate govt mismanagement. The electricity distribution infrastructure in Rajasthan collapsed, causing distress to the common people," he added. Nagar stated that there was no load shedding across the state during this year's summer and power supply was only interrupted in a few areas for maintenance, and that too with prior notice. He credited the absence of power cuts to improved management and infrastructure upgrade carried out by the BJP govt. Highlighting achievements, Nagar said over 1,000 MW of solar power had been integrated into the state grid in the past 18 months, and projects worth more than 10,000 MW were in the pipeline. Rajasthan was set to receive 4,000 MW of battery storage support from the Union government, he said, adding that BJP govt completed 80 GSS projects.

Revanth Reddy releases Bandaru Dattatreya's autobiography, calls him ‘Ajata Shatruvu'
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday released the autobiography of Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, titled 'Prajala Kathe-Naa Atma Katha', at Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad. The event witnessed the participation of several prominent leaders, including Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Naidu, former President Ramnath Kovind and former Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu who heaped praise on Dattatreya's public life and legacy. Speaking at the book launch, the Chief Minister described Dattatreya as an 'Ajata Shatruvu', one who has no enemies, and likened him to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He said that the Haryana Governor stands as a role model for budding leaders, having risen from humble beginnings in Gowliguda, a small locality in Hyderabad, to occupy high constitutional office while maintaining close ties with the people. The Chief Minister made interesting comments on his political journey, describing it as 'Schooling in the BJP, college in the TDP, and now working with Rahul Gandhi'. 'I never hide my relationships,' Mr. Revanth Reddy said, adding that he had close ties with the families of both Mr. Dattatreya and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy.. He said, 'Leaders cutting across the political lines admire whether or not he holds power,' citing the annual 'Alai Balai' event hosted by Dattatreya. The Chief Minister also said that his government draws inspiration from leaders like P. Janardhan Reddy (PJR) and Dattatreya in making people-centric decisions. Naidu described Dattatreya as the embodiment of a true gentleman and lauded his commitment to secularism and public welfare despite working as Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh pracharak, stating that his 'letters to the Chief Minister' reflect both purpose and principle. 'Dattatreya is fondly called as simply Dattanna. He is an Ajata Shatruvu,' Naidu added. Naidu also showered praises on Dattatreya. He said such leaders exemplify value-based public service. 'Those who violate democratic norms must be rejected through democratic means,' he said. Reddy, Telangana Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, former Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramana, and Governors Jishnu Dev Varma (Telangana), S. Abdul Nazeer (Andhra Pradesh), Kambhampati Haribabu (Odisha) and N. Indrasena Reddy (Tripura) were among the dignitaries present. New Delhi: The success of one month of Operation Sindoor was celebrated on Saturday, June 7 evening. The Defense Ministry has given permission to the armed forces to buy long-range missiles, artillery shells, kamikaze drones and air-to-air missiles. These missiles will be better than the Chinese missiles which Pakistan has. According to experts, the forces have assessed the damage. This shows that the Indian Air Force (IAF) shot down four Pakistani Chinese fighter planes. Along with this, two large aircraft were also shot down during Operation Sindoor. Possibly among them was a C-130 J and a SAAB 2000 Airborne Early Warning System. According to the Hindustan Times report, it has also been learned that two F-16 fighter planes were partially damaged in the IAF missile attack. The Indian Air Force attacked 11 airbases including Sargodha, Rafiq, Jacobabad and Noor Khan (Chaklala, Rawalpindi). The report said that India's Rafale fighter jets, S-400 missile systems and M777 guns performed well. The Russian air defense system shot down three enemy aircraft. Reports also revealed that India destroyed a Chinese LY-80 fire radar. Also, two AN TPQ-43 US radars and a Chinese HQ-9 radar unit were destroyed. The attack was carried out on May 10 at Chaklala. Intelligence has revealed that Pakistan has four HQ-9 radars. Earlier it was believed that they had only two. HQ-9 is similar to Russia's S-300 air defense radar. The Pakistan Army used PL-15 missile. It is made in China and has a range of 180 kilometers. Pakistan merged a 250-kilometer range HQ 9 air defense system with a 150-kilometer range system. This was done at Chaklala and Malir Cantonment near Karachi. They wanted to surprise the Indian Air Force. The action report revealed that the IAF fired 19 BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles on Pakistan's air base. Along with this, almost the same number of French SCALP subsonic cruise missiles were also fired. Pakistan fired CM-400 AKG air-launched supersonic missiles. They used JF-17 fighter jets. But these missiles could not do any damage. Pakistan also used YIHA loitering ammunition made in Turkey. Indian electronic warfare systems jammed them. Some missiles missed their target. The rest were shot down by India's air defense system. Pakistan also fired FATAH-1 rockets. They too either missed the target or were intercepted by Indian air defence systems.
