We are planning to set up tanks with a capacity of one to three lakh litres across all 100 wards and the same would be connected to the plant through a dedicated pipeline.
From these tanks, water could be filled into tankers and supplied.
All the required infrastructure has to be built alongside," the corporation commissioner said.
Commenting on the usage of treated water, Sivaguru Prabakaran noted that except for drinking purposes, the water was advisable for other activities, including major construction works, industrial purposes, gardening and agriculture.

Consumer commission fines photographers for deficient wedding services

Koppal: The District Consumer Redressal Commission has ruled in favour of a couple who lodged a complaint against photographers for failing to provide promised wedding services. The commission has ordered the photographers to pay compensation and costs for the deficient service. According to consumer complaint No. 72/2024, Lekhana and Arpan from Koppal, hired Roshan Christopher and Emmanuel of Wedhoods Woollex, BTM Layout, Bengaluru, to provide photography and videography services for their pre-and post-wedding ceremonies. A contract was signed for Rs 1.2 lakh to cover the wedding ceremonies in Sakleshpur and Chikkamagaluru from Nov 28 to Nov 30, 2022, with Rs 1 lakh paid through UPI transactions. However, the couple later approached the consumer commission, alleging that the services provided by the company failed to meet the agreed terms. I won't go to jail by denotifying land for Peripheral Ring Road-2 project in Bengaluru: DK Shivakumar

Bengaluru: Ruling out denotification of land notified for Peripheral Ring Road-2 (PRR-2) project, the govt Thursday said the 52-km stretch connecting Hosur Road with Mysuru Road will be implemented. The govt issued a primary notification for 2,716 acres of land in 2005-06, of which a final notification was issued for executing the Major Arterial Road (MAR) between Magadi Road and Mysuru Road, which forms part of PRR-2 alignment. The MAR stretch of over 10.7km is in advanced stages of completion. Replying to a question raised by BJP MLC HS Gopinath in the legislative council, deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar said there is no question of denotifying the land and the project will be implemented. He asked whether the govt would demolish over 10,000 houses to build the road. The BDA recently announced the formation of six layouts along the alignment of PRR-2. Shivakumar said, "Though the primary notification was issued in 2005-06, successive govts did not issue a final notification for acquisition of land nor sanctioned the plan. I am not ready to denotify the land and go to jail. This is also the govt's stand." Shivakumar said wherever residential structures have come up along the alignment, flyovers will be built to avoid land acquisition. Inferior quality headphones not replaced, forum asks e-tailer to pay consumer Rs31k

Ghaziabad: Over a year after a Loni resident felt at the receiving end of a "faulty delivery" from an e-commerce platform, he has got relief from the consumer forum. District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (DCDRC) has directed Amazon to collect the product from Sankalp Dhama and refund Rs 26,989, which was taken in advance for a premium headphone. Dhama had filed the complaint in June 2024, a month after the delivery of the product. A bench of DCDRC, comprising president Praveen Kumar Jain and members Shailja Sachan and RP Singh, on July 17 also directed the company to pay compensation of Rs 5,000 for mental agony and litigation costs within a period of 45 days from the date of the order. Failing this, an interest at 6% on the outstanding amount until the last date of payment must be paid. "Under these circumstances, we conclude that Amazon must return the money and take back the headphone delivered to the customer. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Pierce Brosnan's Wife Lost 120 Pounds - This Is Her Now Undo Since they are found guilty of deficiency in service by delaying the process, they also must pay compensation of Rs 5,000," the commission ruled.
