The teaser trailer for "Zootopia 2" has arrived.
Disney released the teaser trailer for the animated sequel on Tuesday, which finds Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps, voiced by Jason Bateman and Ginnifer Goodwin, hanging out with a new character named Gary De'Snake. He is a mysterious pit viper voiced by Ke Huy Quan.
"Judy and Nick find themselves on the twisting trail of a great mystery when Gary De'Snake arrives in Zootopia and turns the animal metropolis upside down," according to the film's official synopsis. "To crack the case, they must go undercover to unexpected new parts of town, where their growing partnership is tested like never before."
'Zootopia' Tops the Box Office Again
ABC Audio spoke with Goodwin at the 2025 Disney Upfront, where she said it was amazing to get to return to the character of Judy Hopps.
"She's the best," Goodwin said. "I can't generally watch myself. I think a lot of actors are like this. 'Zootopia' is one I can watch again and again, and had to, having children. And I have to say, that made it easier to slip right back in, because I was like, oh, I really get who this character is now. I've seen the movie a hundred times."
Disney Animation chief and creative officer Jared Bush wrote and directed "Zootopia 2." He promises a larger world for fans to explore.
"We are beyond excited to welcome everyone back to the outrageous, expansive animal metropolis of Zootopia," Bush said. "Whether it's the marshes of semi-aquatic mammals, the vast desert dunes or even greater mysteries beyond, our heroes, Judy and Nick, will meet a lot of new friends, and discover even more about the world, themselves and a brand-new snake in town."
Ke Huy Quan joins cast of 'Zootopia 2'
Shakira returns to voice Gazelle in the sequel, while Fortune Feimster and Quinta Brunson join the cast.
"Zootopia 2" arrives in theaters on Nov. 26.

Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World to get 'largest expansion' with new national park-themed attraction

New "Cars"-themed changes are coming to Frontierland. 3:33 A national park-themed attraction is on its way to Frontierland at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. Disney announced Tuesday that Piston Peak National Park will be the "largest expansion in the history of Magic Kingdom," continuing "the sweeping storytelling tradition that has crossed Liberty Square and Frontierland since opening day." Piston Peak National Park draws on the history and themes of the American frontier and the Rocky Mountains, which stretch from northern British Columbia down to New Mexico, and will feature "an awe-inspiring wilderness filled with towering trees, snowcapped mountains, breathtaking waterfalls, roaring rivers and impressive geysers," according to Disney. Visitors will be able to explore a "visitor lodge, Ranger HQ, trails and more," all inspired by Disney and Pixar's "Cars" universe and its "wheelderness." Disney's Imagineers are even basing Piston Peak's architecture on that of the real-world "Parkitecture" style, which focuses on blending buildings with the surrounding natural landscape harmoniously. To accommodate the work required to bring Piston Peak to life, Frontierland's Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat attractions will close to visitors starting July 7. Disney World reveals closing date for Tom Sawyer Island, details on new Cars area

Disney World reveals closing date for Tom Sawyer Island, details on new Cars area Show Caption Hide Caption Disney World, Disneyland to get new theme park lands and attractions Disney announced new lands and attractions for its global theme parks at its 2024 D23 fan event, including "Monsters, Inc." and villains-themed areas. It's time to say goodbye to an iconic piece of Walt Disney World. On Tuesday, Disney Parks announced that Magic Kingdom's Tom Sawyer Island, Liberty Square Riverboat and Rivers of America will close on July 7 to make way for a new "Cars"-inspired area unveiled at last August's D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. For decades, Tom Sawyer Island has offered guests a tranquil, tree-canopied respite from crowds and a cornucopia of caves and other places for kids to explore and stretch their legs. Many longtime fans have expressed sadness at their imminent loss, but newly shared details suggest similar experiences ahead. Is Cars replacing Tom Sawyer Island? Yes. The area is being reimagined as "Piston Peak National Park," part of Magic Kingdom's largest expansion to date. "Imagine an awe-inspiring wilderness filled with towering trees, snowcapped mountains, breathtaking waterfalls, roaring rivers and impressive geysers," Disney Parks Blog posted Tuesday. "Inside Piston Peak, guests will be able to see and explore the visitor lodge, Ranger HQ, trails and more all set within the Disney and Pixar 'Cars' universe." It will be different from Cars Land at Disney California Adventure, which is set in Radiator Springs. Disney said Imagineers will use a style of architecture developed by the Natural Park Service to blend structures into Rocky Mountain-inspired Piston Peak, and trees will serve as a natural border between an off-road rally attraction and the rest of Frontierland and Liberty Square. Can you go on Tom Sawyer Island? Yes. Guests can take a raft to Tom Sawyer Island through its last day of operation at Magic Kingdom, July 6. That's also the last day of operation for Liberty Square Riverboat, which circles the island along the Florida park's Rivers of America. Disneyland's Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer Island will remain open. The California attraction was personally designed by Walt Disney and enhanced in 2007. What's coming to Disney World in 2025: New nighttime parade, Disney Villains show and more What's closing at Disney World in 2025? Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo will close at Disney's Hollywood Studios on July 8 – just a day after Tom Sawyer Island, Liberty Square Riverboat and the Rivers of America. Guests have until July 7 to say farewell, but the Muppets will return eventually. Disney plans to reimagine Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith with a Muppets theme. "It's Tough to be a Bug" closed at Disney's Animal Kingdom in March. It will be replaced with a new "Zootopia: Better Zoogether" show later this year. Animal Kingdom's TriceraTop Spin, Fossil Fun Games, and shop Chester & Hester's Dinosaur Treasures closed in January for the first phase of construction on a new Tropical Americas inspired land, which will eventually replace DinoLand U.S.A.

Disney Pulls Back the Curtain on Its New ‘Cars' Land

Piston Peak National Park is coming to Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. If all goes according to plan, when the new Cars-inspired land opens at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, you won't even see it. Back at the D23 Expo last year, Disney announced it was adding a Cars-themed land to its signature Orlando park, and now, the company has revealed a ton of additional info. There's a map of what it'll look like, an explanation of its theming, and the news that even though it'll be sitting in the middle of the theme park, it'll be carefully designed to make sure it doesn't stand out. Oh, and it's got a name too. The land is called Piston Peak National Park (though fans are sure to just call it 'Piston Peak' or 'Cars Land'), and though it's fully set in the world of Cars, it's being conceived as a national park in that franchise. The idea being, a national park—even if it's filled with sentient talking vehicles—is a more seamless fit into the land's location, which is near Liberty Square and Frontierland. You can see the full map above, though it's just an artist's interpretation and won't be exactly that. So, unlike the decidedly city-based theming in Radiator Springs, Disney's first Cars land at California Adventure, here everything will be much more natural. More earthy. Imagineers are even calling it 'Parkitecture.' That's a key too because, as Disney explains in its news release, 'From the outside, trees will provide a natural barrier between the off-road rally and other parts of Frontierland and Liberty Square. Rugged mountains with dramatic peaks will be nestled along a calming waterway across from Grizzly Hall and soaring geysers from the famed Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will stretch into the trails of our off-road rally.' Previously, it was announced that the land now known as Piston Peak will have two rides in it, one geared at families and another, more exciting 'race rally through the mountains' which will see your vehicle 'climb mountain trails, dodge geysers and… splash through mudholes.' To make this land into a reality, the park will close Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Liberty Square Riverboat beginning July 7. Plus, as we already knew, on the other side of Big Thunder, a land focused exclusively on Disney Villains is coming too. But no word on specifics for that quite yet. For more on Piston Peak check out the new post on the Disney Parks Blog and revisit that initial news right here.
