Familiar outcome awaits Real's familiar foes
Real Madrid face quarter-final opponents they know well, having beaten Dortmund 2-0 in the final of the 2023-24 Champions League and 5-2 in the league stage of last season's competition.
So we know Madrid should get the better of the German club and they have just defeated European opposition of a similar standard with their 1-0 victory over Juventus in the round of 16.
Los Blancos have switched between 4-3-3 and 3-5-2 formations under Xabi Alonso in the USA. With Kylian Mbappe available again, it will be interesting to see which strategy the new manager opts for.
Madrid are still in the period of adjusting to new tactics and have yet to click. As such, we can expect a relatively narrow victory. I think that backing them to win, alongside under 4.5 goals, will prove to be a safe bet.
Central role for Vinicius Junior?
The possible inclusion of Mbappe raises questions regarding where he might slot into the attack.
Alonso used a 3-5-2 formation in the last game, with Vinicius Junior partnering Gonzalo Garcia up front. The latter has scored three times and assisted once, so could keep his place, with Mbappe joining the pair in a 4-3-3.
Either way, Vinicius seems likely to keep his place. Paddy Power has boosted his odds of having one or more shots on target and to be fouled once or more, from 8/11 to 1/1.
The Brazilian has played for 324 minutes during Madrid's four games, having three shots on target and being fouled seven times in that time.

Brazilian table tennis star denied entry to US due to having competed in Cuba
Brazilian Hugo Calderano, who won the gold medal in the 2025 table tennis World Cup, said he will miss the WTT US smash event in Las Vegas this month following delays in getting a visa to the United States. Calderano, a 2025 world championships silver medallist who also holds a Portuguese passport, said he had been informed by US authorities that he was no longer eligible for visa waiver for European Union countries, due to a trip to Cuba in 2023 to compete in international competitions and qualifiers for the Paris 2024 Olympics. The 29-year-old said he then tried to get an emergency visa but ran out of time with the event already under way on Thursday. 'I followed the same protocol as all my previous trips to the United States using my Portuguese passport,' Calderano said in a statement on his website late on Thursday. 'When I was informed of the situation, I mobilized my entire team to obtain an emergency visa, but unfortunately, there was not enough time.' 'It is frustrating to be left out of one of the most important competitions of the season for reasons beyond my control, especially coming off such positive results,' he added. The US Smash event is one of the highlights of the year for the WTT, a body created by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), to stage commercial competitions to broaden the appeal of the sport, with higher prize money. The United States will also play host to the 2026 soccer World Cup while Los Angeles will stage the 2028 summer Olympics with athletes from more than 200 countries set to take part. Reuters has contacted the US state department for a comment. The ITTF could not immediately be reached for a comment.

They are free to go – Enzo Maresca says unhappy players can leave Chelsea
The likes of Raheem Sterling, Joao Felix, Axel Disasi and Ben Chilwell, who are not with the squad at the Club World Cup, are among those who could move on. Noni Madueke's future at Chelsea has been the subject of speculation (John Walton/PA) There has also been speculation about the futures of Noni Madueke, Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson, who have been involved in the United States. It is now vital Chelsea sell players to balance the books after they were punished by European governing body UEFA for breaches of financial regulations on Friday. As well as a basic £26.7million fine – which could rise to £77.9million if certain conditions are not met – Chelsea will only be allowed to register newly-signed players for the Champions League if they end the transfer window with a 'positive balance'. He said: 'I already struggle to do my job. To be honest, there are things that I don't pay attention to. 'I just pay attention to how to work day by day with the players. How can I improve them? How can I improve the team? And try to win as much as we can.' Maresca was happier to discuss the performance of Pedro, who was brought on for his debut following his £60million move from Brighton as a second-half substitute. His entrance was prompted by a stunning equaliser from Estevao, who shone on what proved his final outing for Palmeiras before his switch to London. Joao Pedro made his Chelsea debut against Palmeiras (Chris Szagola/AP) Pedro played a prominent part in Chelsea's response before they eventually won with a late own goal. Maresca said: 'Even if he was on holiday he looks sharp, he looks good. We gave him some minutes. The reason why he's here is because we like him and we are sure that he's going to help us.' The game was also watched by English winger Gittens, whose £55million move from Borussia Dortmund was confirmed on Saturday. Maresca said: 'Jamie was here, he was on the pitch. He will be with us probably one or two days more. Then he will go for a holiday and come back when we're going to start the new season.'
