The 2025 Lott IMPACT Trophy watch list was released Wednesday, with Notre Dame cornerback Leonard Moore being listed as one of 42 candidates.
At a luncheon at The Pacific Club in Newport Beach, Moore was mentioned as a candidate for the prestigious defensive award that considers character on and off the field. The trophy is named after NFL Hall of Famer and former USC Trojan Ronnie Lott.
The sophomore started 10 games last season, with his starting debut coming in late September when Christian Gray was injured. Moore was an integral piece for the Fighting Irish through their College Football Playoff run, becoming one of the team's best defenders. Additionally, he was the Football Writers Association of America freshman defensive player of the year, finishing with 48 tackles, 2 interceptions, 11 passes defended and 2 forced fumbles.
The Lott IMPACT Trophy annually goes to college football's top defensive player who has had the biggest impact on his team both on and off the field. The award winner will be announced in December and is selected by a panel comprised of former winners, media, coaches, and members of the Board of Directors of The IMPACT Foundation.

HC Mike Elko is highly confident in Texas A&M's veteran 2025 offensive line

HC Mike Elko is highly confident in Texas A&M's veteran 2025 offensive line During Mike Elko's assistant coaching career, which included his three year stint as Texas A&M's defensive coordinator (2018-2021), he experienced one of the Aggies' best seasons since the memorable 2012 campaign during the 9-1 2020 COVID-inflicted season, which included an elite performance from Texas A&M's offensive line. Throughout the offseason, included during Wednesday's Houston Coach's Night, Elko has continued to emphasize Texas A&M's veteran offensive line that includes every returning starter from the start of the 2024 season, including center Mark Nabou, who missed the season's entirety after an early lower body injury. Elko also mentioned Texas A&M's deep running back room, headlined by senior back Le'Veon Moss. "If you think back to the core of the 2020 football team, the offensive line is where it all started. We bring back all four tailbacks. That is not something you see all the time." This group's size, experience, and NFL potential, especially left tackle Trey Zuhn, left guard Chase Bisontis, and right guard Ar'maj Reed-Adams, are considered some of the best at their positions, and will provide a significant impact in both pass pro and run blocking. For starting quarterback Marcel Reed, his success starts in the trenches, as the redshirt sophomore looks to improve as a pocket passer, which is vital if the Aggies plan to make it through their tough schedule and earn the program's first College Football Playoff berth. The running game will be emphasized, which is a staple of OC Collin Klein's scheme, but know that when opposing defenses shut down the run game, Marcel Reed will be looked at to take full control from the pocket and deliver strikes down the field, and will solid pass protection, Elko is confident that his starting signal caller can get the job done if the line holds up. Notre Dame RB Jadarian Price is using the offseason to improve, as this video shows

For any athlete, the off-season is the time to improve on your game, and for Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price, it looks like he's well on his way to doing just that. The rising junior is coming off a season where he had 120 carries for 746 yards and 10 touchdowns, as many would say that constitutes a breakout year. There is no doubt in my mind that Price is just scratching the surface of his ability, and in a video shared by trainer Sean Cooper, it looks like he's on his way for a big 2025 campaign. Advertisement While he will still share carries with Jeremiyah Love, Price is an integral part of the offense, especially considering how much time his counterpart missed last year. Notre Dame's running back room is deep and talented, with many expecting the pair to be the main ball carriers. Aneyas Williams will also get plenty of run, but Love and Price are the workhorses. Expect Price to pick up some of the yardage that Riley Leonard accounted for in 2024, and don't be surprised to see each to the top two Irish backs going over 1,000 yards.
