Shooting inside Duquesne club leaves one person dead
A 26-year-old is dead after a late-night shooting in Duquesne.
According to information provided by Allegheny County Police, just after 11:30 p.m., police were dispatched to Grant Avenue for a reported shooting. Once they arrived on the scene, they found a man had been shot.
Medics arrived and took him to the hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead just after 2 a.m. on Saturday morning.
The medical examiner identified him as 26-year-old Tywone McClain.
Early investigation by detectives has found that the fight took place inside the Safari Club, which led to the shooting.
They believe the shooting took place inside the club.
Allegheny County Police is asking anyone with information to call their tipline at 1-833-ALL-TIPS.

'Dr. Vance Boelter has been involved with security situations in Eastern Europe, Africa, North America and the Middle East, including the West Bank, Southern Lebanon and the Gaza Strip,' the site says. 'He brings a great security aspect forged by both many on the ground experiences combined with training by both private security firms and by people in the U.S. Military.' Another member of Praetorian's leadership team includes a security training manager who is described as a retired undercover officer. The company didn't immediately respond to a request for comment. Law enforcement officials said a dark SUV with police lights was parked at Hortman's home when they responded to the shooting, adding that a man dressed like a police officer was inside and opened fire on Brooklyn Park police officers before fleeing. Praetorian's website also says Boelter has worked for 'the world's largest food company based in Switzerland and the world's largest convenience retailer based in Japan.' That appears to align with a LinkedIn profile with Boelter's name and photo that includes prior jobs as a supervisor at Nestle and a 7-Eleven general manager. It doesn't mention Praetorian Guard or any prior military experience, but lists his current job as CEO of Red Lion Group in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Minnesota Star Tribune cited an online video from two years ago that appears to show Boelter preaching in Congo and telling a congregation, 'I met Jesus when I was 17 years old and I gave my life to him.' The LinkedIn page also says Boelter has a doctorate in leadership and a master of science in management from Cardinal Stritch University. British national pleads guilty to defrauding homeowners
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A British national accused of scamming homeowners in three states pleaded guilty to multiple federal charges Thursday in Providence as part of a plea agreement. Elijah Gavin, 29, faces a maximum sentence of 70 years in prison and a fine of up to $1.2 million. The U.S. Attorney's Office says Gavin was one of what the FBI calls Conmen Travelers, which are groups of Irish or U.K. nationals who swindle homeowners in a contracting scheme. Feds warn homeowners of 'traveling conman' scheme Court documents say Gavin claimed he was a contractor and used different aliases like 'Simon Kelly' and 'Timothy O'Reilly' to defraud homeowners in three states, including Rhode Island, where he targeted a 78-year-old widow. According to those documents, the woman paid Gavin more than $850,000 in separate checks for work he performed on the foundation and roof of her home in 2023. She later called police after her bank flagged a wire transfer Gavin had requested, saying his account 'dealt with Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies' and was not a construction company. Investigators used surveillance video of Gavin depositing money at a Providence ATM and a mugshot published by a U.K. news outlet to identify him. Upon seeing the booking photo, the victim reportedly pointed to the laptop and said, 'That's Tim!' Police took Gavin into custody in February. Meanwhile, the Department of Justice in Northern Ireland has had him listed as 'unlawfully at large' since 2022, when he went on the lam after being convicted of a number of offenses, including burglary, bodily harm and drug possession. Man killed in Hammersmith double shooting named and pictured for the first time
A man who died following a double shooting in Hammersmith has been named as Jordan Oliver Rodney from Northolt. Police were called to Claxton Grove at 11.19pm on Tuesday, June 11, following reports of gunfire. Officers arrived to find two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were taken to hospital. A post-mortem examination has since been carried out. The second victim, also in his 30s, has been discharged from hospital. Jahmel Joseph, 28, of Eaton Rise, Ealing, has been charged with murder, attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of a prohibited weapon, and dangerous driving. He appeared in custody at Bromley Magistrates' Court on Saturday, July 14, and has been remanded to appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, July 18. In a statement, Mr Rodney's family said: 'It is with unimaginable heartbreak that we confirm the tragic loss of our beloved Jordan Olivier Rodney, who was taken from us far too soon. 'Jordan was a man who touched the lives of everyone who knew him. 'He was warm, funny, and loving. 'Always quick with a smile or a joke that could brighten the dark day. 'His kindness, generosity, and humour left a lasting impression on friends and family alike. 'Our son, brother, uncle, and friend was so much more than the circumstances of his death. 'He brought joy to our lives every single day, and his absence leaves a hole that can never be filled.
