Wizkid joins Tyla on long-awaited track from new EP
Released yesterday, the song is a genre blend between Tyla's Popiano (amapiano, pop, and R&B) and Wizkid's smooth Afrobeat influence.
Tyla confirmed this collaboration back in 2022, and since then, fans have awaited this release and in July 2025, the first teaser of the song surfaced online. The TikTok clip offers a glimpse into their seamless chemistry, blending Tyla's signature sultry vocals with Wizkid's effortless Afrobeats cadence.
More recently, the track has been officially revealed as part of Tyla's four‑track EP WWP (We Wanna Party) , dropped today on 25 July 2025. The EP includes her singles Bliss , Is It , and the highly anticipated feature with Wizkid, Dynamite.
At a Berlin fan listening event in July, Tyla premiered two unreleased tracks from the EP, Dynamite and Chanel , hinting at her growing experimentation with bold pop textures and dancefloor-ready production. Some fans see the EP as a tight, energetic bridge between full-length projects and appreciate its punchiness
The collaboration promises star power with two Grammy-winning African stars uniting. Tyla is the first African solo artist to hit 1 billion Spotify streams with Water , and Wizkid, already a global Afrobeats icon.

AfriCAN Honoree Authors' Awards returns to Sandton
The 8th AfriCAN Honoree Authors' Awards has returned to Sandton under the powerful banner of No Borders, a call to unite the African continent through storytelling, soul, and shared heritage. The event took place at Sandton Library, Nelson Mandela Square and brought together authors from across the continent, including Namibia, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Botswana, Cape Town, Durban and Limpopo. The AVBOB Poetry Competition opens for a ninth year
The AVBOB Poetry Competition will return for its ninth year on 1 August 2025. The competition encourages South Africans, young and old, to put pen to paper and share words of love, hope, and healing. This year's theme is 'I wish I'd said…'. Poets may enter up to 10 poems. They can also choose from any of the nation's 11 official written languages. Entries are open until 30 November. Carl van der Riet, AVBOB CEO, expresses the competition's mission simply. 'We want to give every South African a chance to find and share their best words. Each poem adds to an ongoing conversation, drawing us closer to understanding ourselves and each other.' He adds, 'Poetry helps us when we are lost for words. At those moments, it offers images and gestures to steady us.' This year, the stakes are high. The first-place winner in each language will receive a total of R 12,500. This includes R 10,000 in cash, a R 2,500 book voucher, and the coveted AVBOB Poetry Trophy. Poets whose work is published in the AVBOB Poetry Library will also receive a R300 publication fee. Competition guidelines are straightforward. Submit your poems through the online dashboard at A panel of judges will select the strongest entries in each language. The top three poems per language will be featured in the annual printed anthology. All shortlisted poems will be translated into English. 'Translation brings voices together – it encourages understanding and fellow-feeling among South Africans,' says a member of the organising team.
