Police warning after double crime in Bradford district town

POLICE have issued a warning after two crimes in a Bradford district town.
West Yorkshire Police regularly posts on its Community Alert website to notify the public of recorded crimes in their area and to keep neighbourhoods informed.
On Friday, two posts appeared about separate recorded crimes in Ilkley.
One of them happened in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The post said, "the victim was woken by sounds of a vehicle being driven at speed on Eaton Road, Ilkley" at 3.30am.
They then realised that their 68 plate, grey Seat Leon had been taken, according to the post.
It added: "It is unknown how the vehicle was stolen but it was established that the keys (still at the address) were located close to the front door.
"It is possible that a keyless entry signal booster may have been used."
Police attached a leaflet to the post for advice on helping preventing this type of theft.

The second recorded crime in Ilkley was an attempted burglary, according to police.
A resident heard a bang at their property in Mayfield Avenue between 10.30pm and 11pm on Wednesday night.
The post on West Yorkshire Police's Community Alert website said the resident thought "nothing more of it" but the following morning visitors to the house "pointed out damage to the house door lock".
It added: "The outer casing had been bent back and the lock barrel snapped.
"Fortunately, no entry was gained to the property.
"The victim also noticed that their car had been entered and items removed, including a purse, cash and cards.
"Please remember to remove all valuables from your vehicles overnight or when left unattended."
"The attached leaflet provides information around anti-snap locks, which appear to have prevented a burglary on this occasion."

The Community Alert post said, "four unidentified suspects were disturbed breaking into a house" by the occupant when they were "attempting to burn through the door lock".
It added: "The suspects fled and made off in a waiting vehicle, no details of the vehicle are known. No entry was gained to the address."

Meanwhile, a house was broken into on Burley Lane, Menston between 8.30am and 4.30pm on Thursday.
The Community Alert post said: "The victim returned home to find the rear door wide open and signs of forced entry.
"Nothing appears to have been taken from the address, it is believed that the suspect/s were scared off by the victim's dogs."
