Richard Madeley suffers terrible fall - as he presents GMB with painful injury

Good Morning Britain host Richard Madeley continues to present the show with a wrist brace - as viewers continue to ask what happened to the ITV hosts hand Good Morning Britain viewers have noticed Richard Madeley wearing a cast on his wrist this week - but what happened to the hosts hand? On Monday June 9, Richard explained his painful injury to GMB co-host Susanna Reid. The star, who has hosted the show since 2017, revealed that he had recently suffered a painful injury. 'Richard, you better explain – that looks sore,' a concerned Susanna said. ‌ Richard, who had just come back from a trip away to France unfortunately didn't have the best time there as he revealed he fell down a steep pavement while away on his trip. ‌ Explaining the unfortunate events to his co-host, the 69-year-old told Susanna he had a double fracture of the wrist. "I was walking quite quickly down a steep pavement in France, actually, on Friday. 'The pavement was loose and it flipped up and it flipped me forward, and I thought, 'Am I gonna win or is gravity gonna win?' And gravity won, and I hit the ground hard. So yeah, I've got a double fracture and we'll see how it goes." It seems like the injury was painful for the star, who continued: 'I'm not discussing the pain threshold. We don't think about pain.' Changing the subject, Susanna continued: "Okay, we're just going to distract ourselves. It's good to have you back." "It's nice to be back," Richard replied, as Susanna sent him well wishes. ‌ As well as his hand injury, during today's show (Wednesday June 11) the star has been struggling to speak as he suffers a sore throat. The star was seen drinking water and honey while presenting, telling Susanna he hopes to be back on top form tomorrow. It's been an eventful month on air for the star, who recently celebrated his 69th birthday live on the ITV show. Although Richard doesn't like to make a fuss, the GMB crew didn't let him celebrate in silence. ‌ They started by playing a Happy Birthday song in the studio, as well as lighting it up with flashing lights at six in the morning. The screen behind the hosts also had the message "Happy Birthday Richard" written in big letters, with digital balloons moving up and down. Fans couldn't believe the star's age, as Susanna said: "No one can believe your age. And now you are another year older, and you just seem to get younger and younger!" "It's not that," Richard said. "I've been on TV almost every day since the late 1970s. If you look at yourself in the shaving mirror everyday, you can't see yourself getting older. "But if you looked every three months, you'll notice it," he continued. "So I'm on everyday here, mostly. So of course I'm aging, obviously I am. But because I'm on all the time it's not as noticeable."

Coronation Street twist in ITVX release as the truth about Lisa's ex Becky is confirmed

This article contains spoilers for tonight's Coronation Street, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on ITVX. It was a tough day on Coronation Street for many of the residents in tonight's instalment of the ITV soap, as they said their goodbyes to Craig Tinker, following his murder last month. Ahead of his memorial service, DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) appeared to be struggling more than most, with Craig's brutal death bringing back painful memories of wife Becky's murder. In a bid to try and distract herself from the tough afternoon, Lisa decided to have a sort out, which drew Betsy Swain's (Sydney Martin) attention to some old files. As soon as she flipped one open, Lisa was on her, demanding that she mind her own business, leaving the teen concerned that her mum was having some kind of breakdown. With Betsy convinced that Lisa was hiding something, she later confronted her about the contents of the file, and Lisa explained that it contained information about Betsy's donor that she isn't legally allowed to see until she turns 18. However, Betsy wasn't convinced, and was soon caught rooting through the files by Carla Connor (Alison King). When Lisa returned home and found the files disrupted, she was horrified that Betsy had read the contents, and soon confessed to Carla what they really contained. She revealed that, before her death, Becky was being investigated by the anti-corruption unit, and Lisa was keen to keep that information from Betsy. Lisa emotionally opened up about how she and Becky had fought over the allegations the day Becky was killed, and though the investigation was dropped, she didn't get the funeral she deserved. Carla urged Lisa to be honest with Betsy, so she called her to the station to talk. However, when Betsy insisted that she hadn't read the letter because she wasn't interested in knowing who her sperm donor was, Lisa decided to keep quiet about what the letter was really about. More Trending Unfortunately, Betsy wasn't being entirely honest either, as she later revealed to Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) that she knew exactly what the letter was about. She confessed that she was convinced Becky's hit and run had been a coverup of some sort, and asked Lauren for her help in getting to the bottom of things.
