As the Buffaloes conclude spring practices and set their sights on the 2025 season, head coach Deion Sanders is busy integrating a wave of new talent into Boulder's storied program.
The Buffs, fresh off a 9-4 campaign in 2024, have welcomed 13 high-school enrollees and 28 transfers, including standout quarterbacks Kaidon Salter and true freshman Julian Lewis.

Salter, a four-year starter at Liberty with 5,887 passing yards and 56 touchdowns, joins an offensive line anchored by returning first-team freshman All-American tackle Jordan Seaton.
Amid this professional resurgence, the Sanders family encountered a deeply personal challenge on Monday.
Sanders' eldest daughter, Deiondra Sanders, shared a sobering health update on X, "I will keep y'all updated on my new journey. I have two options a hysterectomy or Uterine Embolism. For obvious reasons I will be trying the second one. 🙏".
Deiondra starred alongside her family on Oxygen's "Prime Time Love" (2008-09) and OWN's "Deion's Family Playbook" (2014-15), and later appeared on "Paradise Hotel" in 2019.

Since June 2019, she has served as Director of Communications for SC3 Sports Management.
In August 2024, she welcomed her first son, Que, with R&B singer Jacquees.

After a brief tenure as an NFL Network analyst, Deiondra's father, Deion, transitioned to coaching, revitalizing Jackson State (2020-22) with two Celebration Bowl victories before taking the reins at Colorado in 2023.
In his second season, the Buffs jumped from a 1-11 record in 2022 to 9-4 in 2024, sending Heisman cornerback Travis Hunter and Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year Shedeur Sanders, Deion's youngest son, to the NFL.

Sanders now enters his third year in Boulder with a reconfigured roster.

Sabrina Ionescu, Jackie Chan go viral before Liberty-Valkyries clash

The post Sabrina Ionescu, Jackie Chan go viral before Liberty-Valkyries clash appeared first on ClutchPoints. The New York Liberty were set to square off against the visiting Golden State Valkyries on Thursday for the second consecutive game. The Liberty recently defeated the Valkyries on Tuesday, 95-67, and braced for the rematch. But before the game began, two of the biggest stars in their respective industries, shared a moment on the court. Sabrina Ionescu and movie star Jackie Chan greeted each other before the Liberty took on the Valkyries. During the Liberty's game against the Valkyries, the Jumbotron at Barclays Center showed a preview of Jackie Chan's new movie, 'Karate Kid Legends,' as per Myles Ehrlich of Winsidr. Movie co-star Ben Wang was in attendance with Chan, and both were shown on the Jumbotron after the movie trailer, holding up custom Liberty jerseys. Advertisement As for the game at hand, the Valkyries held a slim lead over the Liberty in the second quarter. The team was short-handed as well with All-Star center Jonquel Jones sidelined due to a hamstring injury. Ionescu was off to a hot start, however, with 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the field and 3-of-7 shooting from the three-point line. The Liberty are one of two teams currently undefeated in the WNBA with the other team being last season's runner-up, the Minnesota Lynx. During the earlier matchup between these two teams this week, it was the Liberty's bench depth that helped power the win. Now in her sixth season in the WNBA, Ionescu has developed into one of the game's best point guards. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft, she is coming off her third consecutive All-Star appearance. Through the Liberty's first four games of the season, Ionescu is averaging 13.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists with splits of 38.8 percent shooting from the field, 25 percent shooting from the three-point line and 84.6 percent shooting from the free-throw line.

Marina Mabrey hits all-time WNBA low point in Sun's 48-point loss to Liberty

The post Marina Mabrey hits all-time WNBA low point in Sun's 48-point loss to Liberty appeared first on ClutchPoints. Marina Mabrey had a historically brutal game in the Connecticut Sun's 100-52 blowout loss to the New York Liberty on Sunday. Advertisement In 28 minutes of action, Mabrey was unable to get her shot going as she also got into foul trouble. She finished with a stat line of eight points, four rebounds, two assists, and a steal. She shot 2-of-11 from the field, including 2-of-9 from beyond the arc. What stood out from Mabrey's struggles was how the Liberty dominated when she was on the court. When the final buzzer sounded, Mabrey had a plus-minus rating of -55, meaning that New York outscored the Sun by 55 points when Mabrey was playing. As a result, she recorded the lowest +/- in a single game in WNBA history, per StatMamba. What's next for Marina Mabrey, Sun John Jones-Imagn Images It will ultimately be a game to forget for Marina Mabrey and the Sun, considering they lost in dominant fashion to the defending WNBA champions in the Liberty. Advertisement New York took a convincing 31-13 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Connecticut failed to put together a string of runs to get back in the game, seeing the deficit get bigger as more time passed. The Sun's shot selection proved to be inefficient against the Liberty. They were successful on 31.1% of their total shot attempts, including 21.4% of their tries from three. Connecticut also turned the ball over 19 times, which proved to be fatal towards their chances of staying somewhat competitive with their opponents. Only two players scored in double-digits on Connecticut's behalf. Jacy Sheldon was active on the stat sheet with 10 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals. She shot 4-of-7 from the field, including 1-of-4 from downtown. Tina Charles came next with 10 points and a steal, while Aneesah Morrow provided eight points and three rebounds. The Sun will look to bounce back in their next matchup, being at home. They host the Atlanta Dream on June 6 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Travis Hunter shines at Jaguars practice, shows off two-way potential

Travis Hunter shines at Jaguars practice, shows off two-way potential Travis Hunter's greatest gift might be his athleticism, and after it being on full display for two years at Colorado, the former Buffaloes star is ready to show out on Sundays in the NFL. The 2024 Heisman Trophy winner is not waiting for Sundays to show out. At Tuesday's Jacksonville Jaguars practice, Hunter showed why he was the No. 2 overall pick and a true two-way player. Hunter lined up at cornerback against wide receiver Darius Lassiter and made a spectacular one-handed tip, diving interception that, by the video, looked like it prevented a touchdown. After beginning OTAs, practicing with the offense and getting reps in at wide receiver, Hunter has spent the majority of the last few days with the Jaguars' defense and looks to have fit in seamlessly. Hunter is a true unicorn and might be the first ever NFL player to truly play both sides of the ball at an elite level. During his final year at Colorado, the two-way superstar racked up 36 total tackles, four interceptions, 11 pass breakups, one tackle for loss and one forced fumble en route to the Heisman Trophy and the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. The odds are stacked against him to continue his elite two-way play at the highest level, but if anyone can do it, it is Hunter, who has an inspiring amount of self-belief to go along with his top-tier talent.
