ASOS shoppers rave over ‘best' body spray that lasts 'days'

Daily Mirror25-06-2025
The iconic Lush body spray has proven so popular the brand was forced to make it a part of the permanent collections
ASOS shoppers are snapping up the 'best' body spray that brings in 'many compliments'. Sticky Dates is a hit from Lush, which originally hit the market as a limited edition fragrance before proving so popular it become a permanent item.
The body spray is £28 although the collection has expanded to include body lotion, shower gel, a sugar scrub and more.
Lush's body sprays are often praised for their impressive longevity that makes them stand out in the current market. Brands like Sol de Janeiro and Phlur, which currently have a £65 discovery set of their best sellers at Space NK, are often dubbed summer classics but they struggle to compete with Lush's longevity.
On ASOS, Sticky Dates hasn't brought in that many reviews but on Lush's own website, it's pulled in an average rating of 4.6 out of five. One thrilled shopper said: "I brought this over 3 months ago and I am still using it! It last so long! And I always get so many compliments when I wear it! This paired with let the good times roll will have you smelling like a sweet vanilla sugar snack!"
Another penned: "This is by far the yummiest scent Lush carries. Smells just like toffee. I get many compliments on it every time it's worn. I am back to order my third bottle and I am so excited to see there is a bath bomb now in this scent."
It is worth noting that some shoppers found it too sweet, with one saying: "The bottle is so cool, it is true, it has great throw and will last long without much needed- but it smells like maple extract. It is one dimensional and there's no sandalwood to be detected."
One shopper was ecstatic with the expanding range, saying: "I bought this about 2 months ago and it's one of the best purchases. I've never stuck to any body spray before without getting sick of it within a week or so. However this spray changed that for me. Smell 10/10. It lingers on my clothes for days. Plus one spray goes a long way so this bottle will last me 6 months easily. What's fabulous about this product as-well is that it comes with matching body wash and lotion so the smell can be amplified. Great product 100% recommend."
Another swore by it, adding: "This is by far the best. The smell of this is incredible! Think Rich and indulgent but not sickly. I love that you still get a hint of chocolate through this but it is primarily as stated in the name, sticky dates but it's unique and really pleasant. Makes my house smell homely."
Our very own perfume expert, Jada Jones, has Sticky Dates in her collection and said: "I have easily over 100 personal fragrances and this is the by far the one I'm complimented on the most. I've been stopped in restaurants, on the street, even in train stations with people wanting to know what I'm wearing. My friend text me weeks after I stayed over at her house telling me that her guest room still smelled like me and that she was going to get herself a bottle. It does smell a lot like sticky toffee pudding but in the best way, this is great for fans of gourmand scents who are looking for a new signature scent."

Amazon shoppers swear by 'breath-taking' £20 scent that 'lasts a whole day'

'Every time I wear it, I feel confident, polished, and a little more myself. The bottle is gorgeous, too — a perfect reflection of the fragrance inside. A true gem in my collection' Amazon shoppers are flocking to buy a £21.99 perfume that they insist makes them feel confident. Khamrah by Lattafa is proving popular on shopping giant Amazon with it having over 25,000 ratings. Khamrah is quite spice forward, opening up with cinnamon and nutmeg which is brightened with bergamot. The heart is a warm blend of dates, praline, tuberose and mahonial. It rounds out with a warm base of vanilla, tonka bean, amberwood, myrrh, benzoin and akigalawood. This is a great option as autumn slowly approaches. For those who like the date note but want something sweeter then perhaps Lush's £28 Sticky Dates is worth checking out. Khamrah has been compared to Angel's Share by Kilian (£310) although while the packaging is similar there are not many overlapping notes. How to get Sol de Janeiro's new 'seductive' summer fragrance for under £9 Lorraine Kelly's makeup artist shares anti-ageing product from Boots for 'dewy' skin Khamrah has pulled in an average of 4.5 out of 5 from 25,343 global ratings. One shopper said: "The bottle is stunning—heavy, well-designed, and comes in premium packaging that feels high-end. Performance is excellent with long-lasting wear and strong projection. Perfect for evening wear or colder months, Khamrah is a standout choice for anyone who loves warm, sweet, and seductive scents without the designer price tag." Another insisted it boosted their mood, writing: "This perfume is simply breath-taking. The scent opens with a beautiful burst of freshness and gently melts into warm, sophisticated notes that linger all day. It strikes the perfect balance between subtle and noticeable — never too strong, but impossible to ignore. Every time I wear it, I feel confident, polished, and a little more myself. The bottle is gorgeous, too — a perfect reflection of the fragrance inside. A true gem in my collection!" The spices can be quite divisive, with one shopper saying: "I saw all the hype about Khamrah by Lattafa and decided to blind buy it. It's a really strong fragrance, but I didn't like it because the cinnamon was too much for me. If you love cinnamon, you'll probably enjoy it, but it's not my type. The first day I wore it, it was so strong that someone complimented me at night, even though I had sprayed it in the morning! The longevity is crazy. I ended up giving it to my friend, and she loves it." Another review commented on a booziness in Khamrah, that we often see noted in the more expensive Angel's Share people associate with the scent. They said: "The fragrance is sweet boozey and spicy and settles down after it dries down to a sweet and spicy fragrance. Absolutely love the longevity and projection. Easily lasts a whole day long on my skin. Great value for money."

Millie Mackintosh's ‘comfiest jeans ever' hail from Kate Middleton's go-to denim brand

Millie Mackintosh hailed her flared 70s-style jeans the 'comfiest jeans ever' and they hail from the same brand that Kate Middleton buys her favourite jeans from Trying to find a pair of jeans that are comfortable, well-fitting and look great can be one of the biggest struggles when it comes to shopping. After countless hours spent sweating in changing rooms trying to find a pair that make you feel great, it's no surprise many of us find shopping for denim one of our least favourite jobs. However Millie Mackintosh might have cracked the code, as she posed in a pair of & Other Stories' High-Waist Flared Jeans on Instagram last week. She praised them as 'The comfiest jeans ever', and it seems the brand might be a winner when it comes to denim as they're also the go-to for Kate Middleton. Princess Kate is a known fan of & Other Stories' Slim Jeans (formerly known as the Favourite Jeans), which are notoriously tricky to get your hands on. The closest style available on the website right now is the Cropped Slim Leg Jeans (£77) which have a similar slim fit that The Princess of Wales favours. Millie's pair, thankfully, are much easier to get your hands on. Her High-Waist Flared Jeans are currently available directly from the & Other Stories website, over at ASOS, and at H&M, where they're priced at £87. The jeans have a classic 70s-inspired fit, with a high waist and flared bootcut leg, and the addition of two patch pockets on the front seals the deal on the retro design. The high waist keeps them comfortable and helps elongate your legs, and the wider legs makes them perfect for wearing with anything from sandals to boots, so you can wear them in every season. They're also made with plenty of stretch, which is what makes them so comfortable that Millie can't stop raving about them. You can pick them up in dark blue, as well as a light ecru colour, which is currently on sale at ASOS down from £87 to £69, and several other colours ways if you shop them at H&M. Other brands have also launched their own version of the 70s-style jeans, with White Stuff's Frankie Flare Jean now on sale for £52, down from £65 and available in sizes six to 24. Marks & Spencer also has the ultra-affordable Patch Pocket Flare High Waisted Jeans for £39.50, with a choice of three different colours and sizes six to 24. For a slimmer fit that keeps the same shape and style, New Look's Blue Patch Pocket Flared Denim Jeans are £39.99 and have a tighter fit around the hips and thighs, before flaring out from the knee. They come in sizes six to 18, with all sizes currently still in stock.

Cara Delevingne reveals how Topshop inspired her fashion sense - as brand relaunches in London

Fashion brand Topshop celebrated its relaunch with its first catwalk in seven years. The company's website promised everyone was invited as models strutted down a runway on Trafalgar Square in front of noughties fashion icons Cara Delevingne and Adwoa Aboah and the London Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan. The label has been operating on the online fashion platform ASOS after ceasing to operate as a standalone business in 2020. Its previous owner, Sir Philip Green's Arcadia group, collapsed into administration and all of Topshop's physical stores - including the Oxford Circus flagship in London's West End - closed soon after. Delevingne told Sky News she was "totally blown away" by the relaunch event. "It was like nostalgia mixed with something eclectic but also something brand new," she said. "For me, it really brings back a time of exploration of my own fashion sense because I think for me at Topshop I got to discover so much." The model, who is working on a capsule collection for next year, has already unveiled a choice edit in this year's show and said her relationship with Topshop precedes her fame. She said: "I would go in and my friends would be like 'you would look good in that' and I would go 'no, that's not really me', and then you'd try it on and be like 'oh maybe I can explore more'. "They really have everything for everyone, and I feel like they brought that back." The runway showcased highlights from its Autumn-Winter 2025 collection, as well as an early preview of pieces set to drop later this season, including showstopper gowns, the classic white tee, and an aloe vera-coloured faux fur coat that surely should not have been on display - to prevent just about everyone rushing to buy it. But sharp tailoring and statement outerwear suggest the brand is ready to reclaim the high street. Must-have denim pieces completed the womenswear line-up while the Topman collection screamed modern utility by blending refined formal wear with sharp new silhouettes. Casual pieces are grounded by authentic denim in deep indigos, which stood out on Trafalgar Square's magnificent stone steps. Topshop's relaunch comes as the high street continues to struggle and as the UK operation of Chinese fashion giant Shein announced pre-tax profits of £38.3m for the year, up some £14m from 2023. 'Top end of the market' Moses Rashid, global marketing director at Topshop/Topman said they are competing in a different space. "We're at the top end of the market. We're about elevation. We pride ourselves on the quality of the product," he said. Those products are being designed in north London, and managing director Michelle Wilson said the aim is to stay that way. "We are a British brand, we want to be a positive force for fashion. We want to bring London to the world. It's fundamental to who we are as a brand, our style is very much London-driven." The majority Danish-owned company has suggested it will slow fashion down by opening physical stores where customers can touch the products, browse collections and try things on, though the flagship on Oxford Circus is unlikely to return because a Swedish fast furniture brand has since occupied the space. Designer Wayne Hemingway has previously collaborated with Topshop and said the relaunch must be more than nostalgia. "They can't rely on their old customers because their old customers have now got kids of their own to spend their money on, and they've got mortgages and all of those things of what being an adult means. "They've got to have designers, marketeers, people who understand - who are on the pulse - who understood, number one, what was a success back then, and also a young generation of people who are there saying, 'this is what our generation needs', and who are bright and can help deliver that. They can't rely on the past."
