A Nebraska quarterback commit won his season opener on Thursday night. Dayton Raiola and the Buford Wolves defeated the Milton Eagles 20-13 in a national broadcast on ESPN2.
Dayton Raiola is the younger brother of Nebraska starting quarterback Dylan Raiola. Dayton committed to the Huskers during the 2024 season and finished the year tossing 1,953 passing yards and 19 touchdowns across 14 games, helping the Wolves to a 6A semi-final finish.
Before announcing his commitment to Nebraska, the younger Raiola also received offers from Appalachian State and Charlotte. Thursday's game was also the debut event for Buford High School's $62 million high school football stadium. The Phillip Beard Stadium itself features 10,000 seats, a 3,500-square-foot video board, 15 luxury suites, and a two-story field house.
Buford will retake the field on Friday, Aug. 22, at 7:30 p.m. CT against Benedictine Military School in Savannah, Georgia. Find Dylan Raiola highlights by scrolling below.

Caleb Wilson inks new endorsement deal

Caleb Wilson has his first big endorsement deal The North Carolina Tar Heels' basketball roster will look a lot different here in the 2025-26 season as Hubert Davis had to overhaul the roster thanks to players entering the transfer portal, running out of eligibility or turning pro. To reload, the Tar Heels brought in a really good transfer portal class as well as a top 10 recruiting class for the 2025 cycle. One of the top new additions is five-star forward Caleb Wilson, who finished ranked in the top 10 among all 2025 recruits. On Monday, Wilson announced some important news as he agreed to an endorsement deal with athletic brand New Balance. The terms of the deal are not out yet, but ESPN reporter Shams Charania reported that it is a multiyear, multimillion-dollar shoe deal. The projected 2026 NBA lottery pick is the latest basketball player to sign with New Balance as they have made an array of signings recently. That included No. 1 overall pick and former Duke standout Cooper Flagg. Wilson joins New Balance along with the likes of Flagg, Kawhi Leonard, Jamal Murray, Tyrese Maxey, Cameron Brink, Dejounte Murray and Zach LaVine among others. Wilson won't be able to wear New Balance shoes on the court while at North Carolina as the program is sponsored by Nike/Jordan Brand. Texas A&M is a finalist to land rising 2026 4-star SG out of St. Louis (MO)

Entering his first season at the helm, new Texas A&M basketball coach Bucky McMillan has already assembled his 2025 roster, made up of 13 transfer additions, freshman guard Jeremiah Green, and international Spanish shooting guard Ruben Dominguez. On the recruiting trail, McMillan has strategically spread out his offers, which include rising 2026 four-star SG Quentin Coleman, who recently placed Texas A&M in his top 4 program list. Sitting at the top of Coleman's list, McMillan and his staff have been with the St. Louis (MO) native since the very beginning, watching his rise in the rankings and developing a strong and consistent communication channel that could pay off with a commitment down the stretch. Right now, landing three or four commitments in the 2026 cycle is the goal, especially before his first season with the program. Standing at 6'3" and 170 pounds, Coleman is one of the top shooters in the country. Like many of the prospects McMillan has offered, Coleman shot over 45% from the field during his 2024 junior season, averaging 19.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2.7 steals per game. This summer, Coleman's scoring averaged slightly decreased to 14.1 points per game during Nike's Peach Jam Tournament, but also led to his rise with nearly every blue-blood representative in attendance. According to Rivals, Coleman is currently positioned as the 61st-ranked shooting guard and the 8th-ranked prospect in Missouri. Coleman will choose between Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Iowa, Wake Forest, Illinois, and St. Louis.
