
Riyadh festival inspires youth with math, tech focus
The event featured 25 interactive pavilions, dialogue sessions, theatrical performances and workshops focused on science and innovation.
It was organized in partnership with the Ministry of Education, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, the National Institute for Educational Professional Development and the Saudi National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, with support from the Riyadh Foundation for Science.
The festival drew thousands of students from across the Kingdom, more than 400 volunteers and more than 800 teachers who took part in workshops.
Attendees embarked on an inspiring educational journey through Arab, Islamic and Saudi scientific heritage, modern mathematical applications, emerging technologies and future opportunities.
Specialized panel discussions led by experts explored key topics in mathematics, technology and innovation, the SPA reported.
The festival also marked the launch of a national initiative to promote science and technology festivals. The scheme aims to spark youth interest in STEM, nurture innovation skills and build globally competitive generations.

Saudi Arabia Secures 3 Awards at International Olympiad in Informatics 2025
The Saudi informatics team has secured a bronze medal and two certificates of appreciation at the 37th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2025), according to the Saudi Press Agency. Held in Sucre, Bolivia, from July 27 to August 3, the IOI 2025 brought together 334 students from 86 countries around the world. The Kingdom has been taking part in the International Olympiad in Informatics since 2019, earning a total of 11 awards, including seven bronze medals as well as four certificates of appreciation. Saudi Arabia Clinches Four Medals at Chemistry Olympiad 2025 in Dubai
Dubai, July 14, 2025, SPA -- The Saudi team participating in the 2025 International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO), held in Dubai, has won four bronze medals, adding to the Kingdom's notable record of accolades from previous editions of the competition. The 57th IChO featured participation from 360 students representing over 90 countries. The team included Rand Ouda and Ali Ahmed Bawazir from the Riyadh education department, Haider Al-Dubaisi from the Eastern Region education department, and Ammar Al-Turkistani from the Jeddah education department. The King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), with a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education, supervised the participants' training through intensive programs designed to enhance their scientific skills in chemistry. The students will return to the Kingdom at King Khalid International Airport on Monday, bringing home the four medals. Saudi team contest Malaysia Olympiad
RIYADH: A team of Saudi Arabia students are participating in the second International Nuclear Science Olympiad in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from July 30 to Aug. 6. The Kingdom will be represented in the INSO 2025 by four high school students who were selected after completing intensive training, the Saudi Press Agency reported recently. The skills program was organized by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity, Ministry of Education, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, and King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy. In the previous edition, the Kingdom won one silver and three bronze medals. The Olympiad aims to promote the peaceful and safe use of nuclear technologies, and inspire young people to specialize and innovate in this vital field.
