Akshay Kumar, Vicky Kaushal NOT Fighting Over Film On Operation Sindoor: Twinkle Khanna
Last Updated:
Twinkle Khanna addressed rumours about her husband Akshay Kumar and Vicky Kaushal clashing over a film on Operation Sindoor.
Twinkle Khanna is known for her wit and sharp takes on current events, but even she isn't immune to the confusion that online rumours can spark. In her latest column for the Times of India, the author and former actor opened up about a recent claims involving her husband, actor Akshay Kumar, and the internet buzz around Operation Sindoor.
A few days ago, producer Uttam Maheshwari had announced a film titled Operation Sindoor, only to issue a quick apology after backlash. The buzz didn't end there — social media was soon flooded with claims that Akshay Kumar and Vicky Kaushal were clashing over the rights to make a film based on the same subject.
Twinkle, like many others, stumbled upon the rumours and decided to confront her husband. What followed was a humorous exchange that she recalled in her column.
'I can test paneer with an iodine solution — but what is the litmus test for the truth? I come across a flurry of tweets and I call the man of the house and start arguing. 'I just read that you are fighting with Vicky Kaushal over who gets to make a movie on Operation Sindoor.' He sighs and says, 'It's fake news and my leg is on fire, so I will call you later.' He really should devise better excuses if he just wants to hang up."
Twinkle soon realised Akshay wasn't exaggerating. When he returned home, it turned out he had suffered a minor injury on set. 'Apparently, his leg was truly on fire for a scene. Nowadays, it is so difficult to figure out what is true that I look at every piece of information suspiciously," she further wrote.
The film Operation Sindoor was announced by Nicky Vicky Bhagnani Films and The Content Engineer at a time when tensions between India and Pakistan were running high. The poster showcased a female soldier holding a rifle in one hand while applying sindoor on her forehead, set against a dramatic backdrop of tanks, explosions, and fighter jets.

Top Akshay Kumar Day 1 Openers: Housefull 5 emerges the actors's 4th best starter; Mission Mangal, Sooryavanshi and Gold remain atop
Akshay Kumar has delivered his 4th biggest opener at the Indian box office with his recent killer-comedy, Housefull 5. The movie has collected Rs 22 crore net and it is a good result given how difficult it is to even take a decent start in today's time. The film is just under Mission Mangal (Independence Day), Sooryavanshi (Post-Diwali Day) and Gold (Independence Day). Consequently all of Akshay Kumar's top 3 openers were aided by a Holiday while Housefull 5 has managed these numbers on a non-holiday Friday. Top Akshay Kumar Day 1 Openers Are As Under (Lead Roles): 1. Mission Mangal - Rs 28.50 crore 2. Sooryavanshi - Rs 26.25 crore 3. Gold - Rs 23.75cr 4. Housefull 5 - Rs 22 crore 5. Kesari - Rs 20.50 crore Rs 22 crore start gives Housefull 5 a strong foundation to grow over the Holiday weekend. Based on the trends, there is a growth of 35 percent on Saturday and Sunday should also remain strong, for a weekend of Rs 83-85 crore net. The numbers internationally are the best for an Akshay Kumar starrer. The weekend projections are over USD 4 million. Housefull 5 is a pricey film and the theatrical recoveries are very important for it to turn profitable. At Rs 275 crore worldwide, the movie will just about recover its budget and at Rs 325 crore worldwide, it'll be well in contention to emerge a hit fare. As things stand, Housefull 5 will have to hold strong over the weekdays after a good weekend in order to sail through. Whatever be the eventual result, it is heartening that a film has atleast taken a start to build on, that too on a non-holiday. The starts are getting rarer and the industry should take what the audience is signalling, very seriously. Housefull 5 plays in theatres now. 2 versions of the movie have released - A and B. Both versions have a different killer, increasing the intrigue among its target audience. If you have watched Housefull 5, which version of the film did you watch? Do let us know. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates on Housefull 5.

Meet superstar whose career was revived after Sunny Deol and Ajay Devgn rejected this film, earned three times its budget, movie was…, his name is…
In ever-shifting landscape of Bollywood casting, some films take unexpected turns before reaching the silver screen. One such project, which eventually became a notable entry in early 2000s cinema, was originally envisioned with two of the industry's top action stars. In a recent interview, the director revealed that both Sunny Deol and Ajay Devgn were approached for the lead role but exited the project at different stages. What followed was a surprising casting choice that helped shape the film's final identity. Let's see who this actor was who has now become a superstar. The Most Talented Superstar of Bollywood The actor we are talking about here is Akshay Kumar , who is currently celebrating the release of his latest movie, Housefull 5 and has starred in more than 150 films throughout his career that has lasted over three decades. Akshay Kumar made his entry into the film industry with a leading role in the 1991 film Saugandh . Throughout the years, he became a key figure in many movies; however, he struggled to attain the stardom or commercial success he desired. This all changed with the 1999 release of Jaanwar , which was directed and produced by Suneel Darshan and featured co-stars Karisma Kapoor and Shilpa Shetty alongside Akshay Kumar. However, many of you must not have known this, but for this, Akshay was not the first choice for the makers. Suneel Darshan's Revelation About Jaanwar's Casting Suneel Darshan told in a recent interview with India Today that Jaanwar was originally planned to star Sunny Deol and later Ajay Devgn , both of whom declined to participate. He said, 'Jaanwar wasn't written for Akshay. With Sunny Deol, the film was initially intended. We were almost ready to travel when we disagreed about some nasty matters. These items are still pending. So I decided to move on and find someone else.' Suneel Darshan further elaborated and said, 'Ajay and I met on a Saturday and came to an agreement on the film. We were set to finalize everything that Monday, but Sunday changed everything,' as the director received an unexpected call, 'It came from someone I had never encountered before that was Akshay Kumar. He was very eager to meet right away. I welcomed him over, and he expressed his desire to star in Jaanwar. He inquired, 'Would you think about making the film with me?'' Suneel Darshan admitted he was initially hesitant about casting Akshay Kumar, as the actor 'was experiencing the lowest point of his career' at that time. Suneel Darshan continued, 'However, I considered, 'Here's a good-looking, disciplined actor who is committed to giving 100% of himself.' He even remarked, 'Sir, I will give you 100% of myself,' and his words stayed with me.' With a production budget of Rs 4 crore , Jaanwar grossed more than Rs 12 crore at the box office, marking not only a financial triumph but also rejuvenating Akshay's career, which had been struggling with several unsuccessful films until then.
