(Photos) Miss HK 2025 Contestants Pose In Swimsuits During Filming In Penang

As we get closer to the finale of this year's Miss Hong Kong Pageant 2025 (2025香港小姐競選), we're getting more content of the contestants, including new photoshoots. Recently, TVB dropped pictures from the contestants' swimsuit photoshoot, giving the public a glimpse at the ladies' toned physiques. The 14 contestants are currently in Penang, filming at some of the state's most iconic sites for the pageant. Yesterday (4th August 2025), the ladies appeared at Batu Ferringhi Beach to film the highlighted segment of the pageant, the swimsuit portion. While it had rained on the morning of the photoshoot, the contestants remained in high spirits throughout the filming. TVB has since released photos from the shoot, showing off the pageant hopefuls' eye-catching bodies. As shown in the pictures, the contestants don tropical-inspired swimsuits in pastel blue and orange tones. Since most of the ladies are very active in sports, they boast impressive and well-proportioned figures. In an interview with an entertainment news programme, contestant Stacey Chan (陳詠詩) said she also made sure to monitor her eating and exercise more before the photoshoot to achieve the best results. Besides the swimsuit photoshoot at Batu Ferringhi Beach, the contestants also filmed for the pageant at City Hall in George Town last week. Elegantly dressed in white, the 14 finalists turned heads and drew curious onlookers with their beauty. This year marks the first time the Hong Kong beauty pageant has been filmed in Penang since its establishment in 1973. The filming is part of a collaborative effort between the Penang State Government and TVB. Given the popularity of the pageant, the government is hoping to boost tourism by highlighting local attractions through the programme. State tourism and creative economy committee chairman Wong Hon Wai spoke about the collaboration, saying, 'Through the lens and journey of the contestants, the Miss Hong Kong Pageant 2025 will offer global audiences an immersive glimpse into Penang's breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural heritage and contemporary charm.' The Miss Hong Kong Pageant 2025, where this year's Miss Hong Kong will be crowned, is scheduled for 31st August 2025 (Sunday). Which contestant has caught your attention so far? Former TVB actress Ali Lee says she fell ill while filming local drama in Malaysia

Popular Hong Kong actress Ali Lee Kai-sum, who was in Malaysia filming the upcoming Astro drama The Exiled, revealed that she unexpectedly fell ill during the shoot. She stars opposite fellow Hong Kong actor Chris Lai Lok-yi in the series. According to an article by Sin Chew, Lee shared that she had to take 10 types of medication – including painkillers and sore throat remedies – while unwell. Fortunately, the medicine helped, and she made a significant recovery although she had a cough that didn't go away for awhile. In a behind-the-scenes video, the 42-year-old expressed gratitude to Lai who took care of her when she was ill. It was previously reported that Lee took the role in The Exiled partly because of her friendship with Lai. In the video, the duo spoke about their experience filming in Malaysia. Lee recalled how Lai encouraged her to get some sun and looked after her when she was feeling unwell. She humorously shared that at one point she knocked on Lai's hotel room door to ask for medicine, saying: 'His room became like a pharmacy. When I was coughing really badly, I went knocking and said, 'Excuse me doctor, I need medicine'.' Meanwhile, Lai added that many people were concerned about Lee's condition and would often call him to check if she was feeling better. Lee left TVB last year after 12 years with the company.
