Wakefield sign Featherstone front rower Williams
Wakefield Trinity have signed front rower Jordan Williams from Featherstone Rovers on a two-year deal until the end of the 2027 season. The 28-year-old joined Featherstone before this season and has made 16 appearances for the Championship club. Prior to his spell at Featherstone, Williams spent five years with London Broncos and made 13 appearances for the club in Super League last term. "The club has enjoyed some impressive success in recent seasons and I believe moving forward we will achieve even more," he said. "Returning to Super League has been a major goal of mine and I'm proud to have earned this opportunity. I can't wait to get to work and give everything for this great club." Liverpool agree deal to sign Parma defender Giovanni Leoni
Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign Parma defender Giovanni Leoni. It is understood the Reds will pay £26million plus add-ons for the 18-year-old. Leoni is expected to undergo a medical on Thursday as head coach Arne Slot has moved to strengthen his options at centre-back. He played most of pre-season with just two recognised specialists in the role – Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate – as Joe Gomez, who returned to training this week, was injured and Jarell Quansah was sold to Bayer Leverkusen.
